I know a lot of you folks were waiting for this release. After 5 betas, the final version of WinRAR 3.80 is here. This is somewhat of a major upgrade over existing 3.71 version and incorporates a number of bug fixes as well as several new and improved features such as decompression support for WinZip AES encrypted ZIP files and Improved Unicode support for RAR and ZIP archive names (For a full list of changes in 3.80, please refer the changelog).

Developer Description

WinRAR is a 32-bit Windows version of RAR Archiver, an archiver and archive manager. RAR files can usually compress content by 8 percent to 15 percent more than ZIP files can. WinRAR's main features include strong general and multimedia compression, the ability to process non-RAR archive formats, ZIP compression and decompression, support for long filenames, programmable self-extracting archives (SFX), repair of damaged archives, authenticity verification, embedded file comments, and encryption. Unicode is supported in archive filenames, allowing non-English filenames to be handled painlessly. You can manipulate the parameters of many archives at once and view a volume sequence as a single archive. WinRAR can convert other archive formats to RAR and search for specified text and files in archives.

Version 3.80 adds decompression support for AES-encrypted ZIP files, improved display information, more context-menu options, and a more secure method of deleting temporary files.

WinRAR 3.80 Final Download

This should not have come as a surprise for you if you were a regular member of Blackcats-Games (BCG). If you logged onto Blackcats today, you would see a fake page instead of the familiar login page. Don’t worry, it’s not shut down or anything; this was intentional and is done for security reasons and to launch the upcoming referrals feature. Although tracker staff gave much publicity regarding homepage replacement, unique key generation and how to use the key and the fake page to login to the tracker, many users seem to have skipped reading all these (judging by the amount of mail we receive asking what to do with the fake page).

First of all, if you did not generate a key as instructed by many PMs, announcements and forum posts, say good bye to your account. According to site admin the accounts the did not generate a key will be deleted. If you did generate a key earlier, read on.

Here is how to use the fake login page to get access to Blackcats-games:

1. Visit the login page and enter your keyword in the search box.

2. The moment you type in your key word correctly, two boxes, one each for username and password will appear at the bottom of the page.

3. Type in your Blackcats username and password in these boxes and press enter. That’s all.

To login successfully, all three elements should match; your key, username and the password.

Blackcats-Games login page changed

A DVDRip of the popular 2008 movies Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull has been leaked to internet. Responsible for this leak are DiAMOND, a legendary group in the movie release scene. DiAMOND have been relatively quite for the past few weeks but it seems they chose a popular title to mark their comeback. The release comes as a 2CD (1.38GB) rip and it has DVD quality video and 5.1 AC3 sound. For more details on this release including screen caps, NFO and more, please see this page.

Speaking of the movie, it has a decent 7.0 rating on IMDB. As a fan of the old movies, I would definitely watch this.

Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull is a 2008 adventure film directed by Steven Spielberg and executive produced and co-written by George Lucas. The film pits Indiana Jones (Harrison Ford) against agents of the Soviet Union, led by Irina Spalko (Cate Blanchett), in the search for a crystal skull. Indy is aided by his former lover Marion Ravenwood (Karen Allen), greaser Mutt Williams (Shia LaBeouf), and fellow adventurer George "Mac" McHale (Ray Winstone). John Hurt and Jim Broadbent also play fellow academics.

The film was in development since the 1989 release of Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, because Spielberg and Ford disagreed over Lucas' original concept. Screenwriters Jeb Stuart, Jeffrey Boam, Frank Darabont and Jeff Nathanson wrote drafts, before David Koepp's script satisfied all three men. Shooting began on June 18, 2007, and took place in New Mexico; New Haven, Connecticut; Hawaii; Fresno, California; and soundstages in Los Angeles. To keep aesthetic continuity with the previous films, the crew relied on traditional stunt work instead of computer-generated stunt doubles, and cinematographer Janusz Kamiński studied Douglas Slocombe's style from the previous films.

Popular E-Book/E-Learning torrent tracker Docs.Torrents.Ro is currently open for signup. Although we brand it as an E-Learning tracker most of the time, books is not all this site has got. Universal Extractor is a small but useful tool that allows users to extract files from virtually any type of archive. By ‘archive’ we don’t mean a .Zip or a .RAR archive; In addition to support for several dozen compressed file formats, Universal Extractor can even extract files from compiled setup packages such as Windows Installer packages, FEAD optimizer packages (used by Adobe), Microsoft hotfixes and even Nero Image files. Developer Description

Universal Extractor is a program do to exactly what it says: extract files from any type of archive, whether it's a simple zip file, an installation program, or even a Windows Installer (.msi) package. This is still a work in progress, but so far it's proven quite useful and I feel others can also benefit from it.

I should stress that Universal Extractor is not intended to be a general purpose archiving software. It will never replace WinRAR, 7-Zip, etc. What it will do is allow you to extract files from virtually any type of archive, regardless of source, compression method, etc.
The original motivation behind this project was that I wanted an easy, convenient way to extract files from installation packages, such as Inno Setup or Windows Installer packages, without pulling up a command line every time. In the process I got a little carried away and ended up throwing in support for every kind of archive format I possibly could find.

Torrent Vault is a private torrent tracker with general/0day content. Like most general tracks out there, Torrent Vault indexes both scene and non scene releases including appz, games, music, movies and  TV shows. At time of this post, there are more than 14000 active members on Torrent Vault and it’s tracks tracks more than 3500 torrents.

Apart from usual releases, Torrent Vault tracks some packs of their own. In fact I’ve seen several quite good and rare packs here including some good movie, music, e-book and TV show packs. Be sure you check the Movies/Boxsets and Episodes/TV-Boxset categories as you may find some real gems there.

To identify packs unique to Torrent Vault, look for ‘TV’ and ‘TorrentVault’ tags on torrent title.

Private torrent tracker FileBits.org is currently open for signup. It’s Slovenian tracker which indexes a lot of scene releases. Although the tracker is of Slovenian origin, most of the torrents it tracks are English. The interface however is in Slovenian language but even if users who don’t know anything about Slovenian should be able to find their way around. From what we saw from the download speeds and pre times, FileBits seem to be a decent general tracker.

Mozilla FireFox 3.0.3 released

I’ve had the misfortune of losing data several times due to hardware failure (and due to the lazyness to back up data).  Here is a nice little program that may save your ass in the event of a data loss due to hardware failure or physical damages. AnyReader can read corrupted or damaged CDs, DVDs, LAN-Drives, flash memory, ZIP disks and floppy disks and recover the data which the operating system is unable to read. If you are getting CRC errors while trying to copy data from your discs or if it takes an unusually long time to copy data from/to your discs, try using AnyReader. I wouldn’t say that this app would work miracles and recover data from a smashed up hard drive but it sure does work is less serious cases.

Effectively copies corrupt data from any type of disks or erroneous connections if standard copying methods fail. AnyReader supports resumed downloads from the remote PC if the connection was broken during the copy process (especially useful for unreliable Wi-Fi networks). AnyReader is great for copying files from scratched CD/DVDs or defective floppy/hard disks. Normally when your computer is unable to copy files from a damaged disk it will abort and delete the part of the file it has copied. Scenemovies is a brand new torrent tracker that specializes in movies. It is one of the few trackers out there that uses the new Gazelle codebase. At a glance, it may seem like yet another start up scene release movies tracker with a cool interface but not much content. But we think there is a lot of promise in Scenemovies.

Although the tracker is named Scenemovies, it’s not all about scene releases. In fact, it’s primary focus is on user uploaded content. Below is a notice posted by the administrator:

The tracker is now online. Please begin to upload! We will be relying primarily on community based uploading. Seasoned uploaders will have benefits to pre-releases as they become available.
Leech-n-runs will be banned.

User uploads could work both ways. If unregulated, it could result in the tracker being flooded by fakes and low quality releases. But with adequate moderation, user uploads could create a tracker with lots of content both rare and new and often not seen on other similar trackers. It’s too early to tell how Scenemovies will turn out as it’s only about a month old. But the intentions of the admins seem to be good and the site is well worth checking out.

Lots of US TV shows have begun airing brand new episodes these days. And most of these episodes make their way to torrent sites. Rather than trying (most of the time, unsuccessfully) to get into high level TV trackers such as BitmeTV, why not start with something that is fairly easy to get into? If my memory is correct, this movie was just released in the US. It’s surprising for an R5 rip of the to surface this early but it sure looks like the real deal. The rip has already made it to Usenet and private torrent trackers (and of course it’s leaked from scene topsites as usual) and will soon make it to public tracker such as TPB. Veteran scene group PUKKA is behind the release of Righteous Kill R5 so very few people will have doubts about this given PUKKA’'s reputation. IMDB Plot Synopsis

I was waiting for this ever since the pilot aired. I used to watch every single episode of the 1982 TV series in all four seasons. Then there was Team Knight Rider which I think sucked big time and had no real connection to the original storyline. That makes the 2008 series the first true sequel to 1982’s Knight Rider so I hope this show survives for several seasons just like the original. The 2 hour pilot of the 2008 series looked good (except for the ford ‘advertisements’) and the first episode looks even better. With a collection of high-tech suits, gadgets and cutting-edge vehicles on hand, players are able to step into the unique LEGO Batman universe to bring super villains to justice or, as the villains, to run amok in Gotham City.

 

Features

• Each story is playable from either the Hero or Villain point of view. (For example, in the aforementioned levels, you could also play as Catwoman trying to steal the diamond or as Batman trying to rescue Commissioner Gordon.)
• You’re able to switch characters without being next to each other, unlike in the previous “LEGO Star Wars” games.
• The camera has been adjusted from the “LEGO Star Wars” series to pan back further and further away (but not too far) when the players are separated in two-player mode.
• There will be strictly vehicular levels in the game, although Doyle declined to say what they would be. (The press release states that the Batmobile, Batwing and Batboat will be available.)
• There will be collectibles. While I did see objects that looked like the “mini-kits” from “LEGO Star Wars,” Doyle said those were place-holders. “It will be a similar sort of system [as 'LEGO Star Wars']. The collectibles are different; they’re not to collect vehicles, they’re to collect other trophies. We’re going to design them to be more Batman-style.” There will be 10 per level.
• The music I heard in the demo was most definitely Danny Elfman’s compositions from the “Batman” films. While Doyle did confirm I was right, the team is still “finalizing the arrangements.”

Version 9 of the popular Instant Messaging client Yahoo Messenger just got released. This is a Final version (not a beta) of the app and is now directly downloadable from Yahoo’s official site. MazeTorrents is a fairly new private tracker which tracks a decent amount of general/0day content. It is evident from site messages and some releases that MZT is of Romanian origin. Private Tracker Watch: The Trader’s Den Music/Video tracker signups open –23/09/2008

As we reported earlier, Crysis Warhead’s copy protection was circumvented by non scene individual identified as DarkC0der. Although DarkC0der’s fix worked perfectly with the leaked images, some people were still complaining about copy protection not being entirely removed and DarkC0der merely developing a workaround. Scene group RELOADED have just released a version of Crysis Warhead which includes a fixed exe with SecuROM protection stripped off. Their release includes both a full image of the game as well as the fixed exe.

Meanwhile another scene group, PROCYON have released a cracked version of Crysis Wars – the multiplayer component. PROCYON who are better known for their Clone DVD releases, have included a fixed executable as well as several serials for the game in their release. However it is still unlikely that you will be able to play Crysis Wars on official servers as these usually require a legitimate unique serial per user. We still do not know if there are any private servers currently online for this game.

SHAPE Services IMPlus (IM+) v7.14 - S60v3 SymbianOS9.1

I don’t know if this was done recently or a while ago, but I only noticed it today. I used to transfer my phone’s content to PC using Nokia Lifeblog. In order to do this you need to have Nokia Lifeblog application installed both on your Mobile and on the PC. After a fresh system install, I searched the Nokia site for the Lifeblog PC application only to get a “Page not found” error. After one Google search I got to know that Nokia had replaced the Lifeblog PC application with something called ‘Nokia Photos’. It’s all good but they could have placed a redirect on the Lifeblog page instead of simply saying ‘Not found’.

I only have several minutes of experience with Nokia Photos. From what I saw, the new app seems to have retained all the important features of Lifeblog (timeline included) and added some new ones as well. Don’t forget to check this one out.

Private Tracker Watch: iDesir signups open – Indian movie torrent downloads

I was looking forward for the A-Patch release for recently released Windows Live Messenger Wave 3 beta because without it no ‘real’ customization was not possible. A-Patch usually has over 50 customizations options ranging from interface tweaks to advertisement removal. However this version of A-Patch can only make 7 customizations to WLM due to the ‘protection’ in new Windows Live Messenger Wave 3 beta (version 14.0.5027.908). The following is quoted from one of the developers of A-Patch:

Due to the new protection in the new version of Windows Live Messenger, I can only bring you 7 options at the moment. The gurus in the Messenger community are working hard on bypassing this protection, and once it's done I will be able to bring you the normal 70+ options that A-Patch contains, God-Willing, please be patient and thank you all for your continued support :)

As usual, the game has been leaked on P2P networks immediately after it’s release. P2P group TDM is responsible for the leak. TDM have managed to even include the bonus DVD in their release. Also included are required files and instructions to bypass the controversial TAGES copy protection built into the game.

The Witcher was without a doubt of of the best RPGs of year 2007. Although I initially hated the combat system, I actually did spend hours and hours on the game completing side quests and the main storyline. However nothing is perfect. The Witcher had its share of bugs, glitches and performance issues. The most notable were the insane load times. Although there were patches released to fix these issues, the bugs did harm the otherwise awesome gameplay.

Now, after almost a year after initial release, CDProject have released ‘The Witcher Enhanced Edition’. The following are major new features said to be included in the Enhanced Edition of The Witcher

How to get a free BrokenStones invitation code - The Mac based torrent community

Today seems to be a good day for gamers (and a very good one for pirates). First scene group RELOADED cracked STALKER: Clear Sky and now the non scene cracker known only as 'DarkC0der' has cracked Crysis Warhead. 

We reported earlier that Crysis Warhead would be released with SecuROM DRM which is hated both by pirates and legitimate users alike. The SecuROM version bundled with Crysis seems to be similar to the one that came with Spore. Users of Spore even created creatures to protest against the invasive DRM protection included in the game. However it has once again been proven (this time by DarkC0der) that even the strongest protections currently on the market are doomed to fail. DarkC0der's crack includes a fixed paul.dll file which has the online activation process removed. Fixed files can be used in conjunction with previously leaked CloneDVDs which were useless until now. DarkC0der was the first to crack popular PC titles such as Bioshock, Bionic Commando Rearmed and Alone in the dark 5 all of which featured variants of online activated SecuROM.

Take on the fight as the volatile Sergeant "Psycho" Sykes in a new parallel story taking place during the events of Crysis. Psycho's secret mission will take him to the other side of the island on a ruthless pursuit of a North Korean general hell-bent on obtaining powerful technology. Crysis Warhead cracked by DarkC0der

After numerous non scene buggy workarounds, a scene group has finally stepped in to crack the English version of S.T.A.L.K.E.R : Clear Sky. It is none other than RELOADED, who are one of the oldest groups in the warez scene. Usually RELOADED releases games on or before their street but this is a rare exception (It's only 3 days after the NA release so it's no big deal). The hard to crack DRM used in Clear Sky may have been one of the reasons for the delay. RELOADED claims to have cracked the game's TAGES + Solidshield protection in build 1.5.0.3 of the game exe. Cracked release is now appearing on scene pre channels and will soon leak to Usenet, Private trackers, public trackers and so on.

Update: RELOADED have just released a patch that updates the cracked release to version 1.5.0.4

Speaking of the game, Clear Sky is the prequel to last year's S.T.A.L.K.E.R - Shadow of Chernobyl. Besides having a decent rating on GameRankings, I've seen this game being bashed on several gaming forums for being full of bugs and glitches. It's always advisable to patch the game to the latest version available before playing.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky is a survival FPS game for PC based on a 'what-if' scenario of the second Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant accident. The game is set in 2011 and brings forth the events to have preceded the third campaign of Strelok to the Zone center. S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky introduces an alternative look onto the events of the original game and offers the player to try himself out as a mercenary s.t.a.l.k.e.r. in search of his own path in the world of S.T.A.L.K.E.R.

Scene group RELOADED cracks S.T.A.L.K.E.R : Clear Sky (English)

SloBytes is perhaps the first Slovenian tracker to be featured in our Private Trackers Section. It's a general/0day tracker with nearly 7500 users and over 4000 torrents. The signup page, site language and everything else is in Slovenian. However most of the content indexed is English (Scene releases, P2P releases ,etc). Interface language should not be a problem for anyone familiar with private trackers as SB follows basically the same format as most other trackers.

Another thing I noticed about this tracker is its packs. Apart from SloBytes unique packs (SB tag), I found packs from other high level trackers such as ScT and TL.

Although these packs may be embraced with open hand by users who do not have access to these high level trackers, uploading unique packs to another tracker is usually frowned upon in the BT community. Such uploaders, if caught, usually faces an instant ban from the original tracker.

Overall it's a decent tracker and is currently open for signups. The current user cap is 7500 and that means there are just around 75 spots left so you better hurry if you want to get in.

Windows Live Messenger 9 Build 14.0.5027.908 + Other Windows Live Wave 3 beta apps direct download (Offline + Web Installers)

Crysis Warhead is without a doubt one of the most anticipated games of the year. The game has just been released in some regions and leaked copies are already floating around the Internet. That is not to say the game has been cracked yet - What's been circulating in P2P networks are Clones of the original DVD with SecuROM DRM still active. As reported earlier, an updated version of SecuROM with online activation is embedded into the game.

A torrent titled 'Crysis Warhead 2008 PC CLONCD ENG-Chinese' appeared on a well known private tracker moments ago and the following information is given on the NFO:

Since the anti piracy protection remains active, non legitimate users may find it impossible to run the game using this image. One option for them would be to mount the image using an emulation software such as Daemon Tools and to turn on SecuROM emulation on DT. It's unlikely that the emulation method will work with new SecuROM protection that comes with Crysis Warhead. So at the moment there are not many options left for pirates other than to wait for an executable which has the DRM removed. The leaked clone DVD images are all P2P releases and do not come from the Warez scene. A possible scene release will most likely contain a crack that removes the much hated SecuROM DRM present in the game.

Private Tracker Watch: Wild-Bytes (WB) signups open

Few weeks ago, we posted about ChildBytes which specialized in kid's content. TorrentKids (aka Humor Me) is a new tracker in the same niche. It tracks kids movies, TV series, educational content, music and other content targeted at kids. One point of note is that TorrentKids does not track any cartoons. In my opinion what makes this app stand above the rest is it's skinnable interface and the wide range of plugins available. Almost every member of the original Winamp development team have left Nullsoft by now and not a lot of progress has been made after their departure. Anyway it's still a decent media player and is well worth the install.

Another excellent general tracker just opened signups. ExtremeShare is a general/oday tracker which has great pre times and excellent download speeds. Private Tracker Watch: PeerPortal (PP) signups open

Well I didn't quite expect this. A DVDR (not a DVDRip) of the popular superhero movie Incredible Hulk (2008) has been leaked. Scene group TheCrown is responsible for the leak. In the release NFO, the source is mentioned as PAL DVD9. Video bitrate is CCE 6 pass @ 5083kbps and is presented with English, Dolby Digital 5.1 audio. The quality should be excellent. Now the next important question would be: How long will it take another P2P or a scene group to release a DVDRip of this movie, now that the full DVD9 is out there?

BS Player Pro v2.31.974 Multilingual

Videolan have just released version 0.9.2 (codenamed Grishenko) of VLC Media Player. This is a major upgrade over existing v0.8.X builds and integrates many new features including support for many new input and output formats, security enhancements, and interface tweaks.

VLC is right up there on my favorite media players list. Hell I even carry a portable version of it on my flash drive. It's not bloated, comes complete with all the decoders (no need to install codecs separately) and can play almost every shit you throw at it. If you use your computer to play media files, VLC Media Player is a must have.

New in V0.9 builds (Obtained from VideoLAN Wiki)

Interface

A new interface module based on the Qt toolkit has been added to VLC. This new interface module has a few improvements on the old one:

Private Tracker Watch: MVGroup (E-Learning), BoxTorrents (Anime) and LeechersLair (General) open for signup

So has the English version been fully cracked? Not really. But is there a playable English release? Yes.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. : Clear Sky (Russian Language) was released in Russia on the 22nd of August. The EU (English Language) version was released on the 5th of September.  The Russian version had StarForce copy protection system embedded and the EU version had TAGES + SolidShield protection. Both these anti piracy measure are considered hard to crack. Most StarForce games are not fully cracked but there are many workarounds that simply allow users to bypass the protection. TAGES is also a tough nut to crack and even Clone DVD versions usually require the pro version of Daemon Tools to properly emulate TAGES protection.Latest DT Pro does not seem to have the ability to emulate TAGES version that comes with Clear Sky. It has not been cracked by the scene so far. However it seems that the StarForce protection that comes with Russian release can be bypassed.

There is a Clear Sky release floating around in P2P networks which seems to be a playable English version. A closer look suggests that it is actually the Russian version with the English Language files being imported from the EU version of the game. There is no 3rd party translating involved as the original language files are used. There seem to be no major differences between P2P release and the genuine English version other than the anti piracy measures used (original uses TAGES and P2P release uses Starforce which is bypassed). The P2P release even comes packed with patches to update the game to v1.5.0.4 which is the most recent patch available at this time.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R : Clear Sky fans who are itching to play the game can download the P2P version and play it. Others may wait a few more days to see if a proper crack (with protection fully removed) surfaces or not. Whichever version you use, whether it's cracked, emulated, pirated or legitimate, just make sure you have the latest patch installed; this game has many bugs and glitches.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky is a survival FPS game for PC based on a 'what-if' scenario of the second Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant accident. The game is set in 2011 and brings forth the events to have preceded the third campaign of Strelok to the Zone center. S.T.A.L.K.E.R : Clear Sky (English) - Cracked or not?

Private torrent index and closed Internet community Darkside_RG is currently open for new users. Darkside is one of the older sites out there and has an excellent community. There are over 100000 registered members and an unknown number of releases on this forum.

Although DarkSide_RG is a decent Bittorrent site, it is perhaps more popular for another reason; aXXo - the one man release group (non scene). DarkSide is one of the first place where aXXo uploaded his ripped movies to and he is one of the staff members there. Apart from aXXo movies Darkside indexes TV Shows, Music, games and other general content released by scene, p2p releasers and DarkSide's own rippers.

Split and burn Blu-Ray movies to multiple DVDs using Blu-Ray to DVD 1.20

The first time I installed Windows Vista, I spent around 2 days finding and disabling unwanted features. One of the reasons why Vista takes so much resources is that Microsoft has decided to enable most of the components of Vista by default, regardless of the fact that many users won't even use these features. In my case I would never have used Windows Media Center (No use without a TV tuner) , Windows Defender (I'd rather use Kaspersky) or User Account Control (fuck that!).  But it is a pain in the ass to disable these components after every fresh install. This is where vLite comes in. vLIte allows you to create Windows Vista bootable DVDs with available feature set customized to your liking.

Another day another general tracker. Scene Pirates is a private torrent tracker which indexes general content and 0day stuff. Private Tracker Watch: Scene Pirates signups open

WinZip is probably the most popular file compression utility for Windows. Version 12 of this gem of a program recently got released and it's a major upgrade over the previous v11 builds. Apart from all the new fancy additions in v12, one particular feature caught my eye; "Photo Compression compresses JPEG files by 20 to 25%".

If you've tried compressing JPEG files with previous WinZip releases, you may have noticed that the compressed version is almost the same size as the original. I tried compressing 141KB JPEG using Winzip 11.2 (with 'optimize for best compression' option selected) and the compressed version was 139kb. When I compressed the same file with WinZip 12 (build 8252) the compressed file was 118kb; a notable increase in compression ratio.

It may not seem like you are saving much space on a single file but this could come handy in situations such as when you are E-Mailing a bunch of photos over a low bandwidth line.

WinZip Pro v12.0 build 8252 supports JPEG compression up to 25%

Highly anticipated standalone expansion pack for last year's Crysis, titled 'Crysis Warhead' will be released on the 12th in Europe and 16th in the US. Speaking of the game, this will not be a sequel to Crysis and will not be the second part of the planned Crysis trilogy. Instead, Crysis Warhead will feature the same story of Crysis, seen through the eyes of a different Crysis member (Psycho).

I was curious to know as to what protection this game would implement, it being an EA games release. EA's recent releases have been bundled with online activated SecuROM, something that has challenged scene groups for quite a while. It looks like EA are shipping Warhead with the same protection. Check this DVD cover and look closely at what's written in third paragraph (bottom). A zoomed up version is displayed below:

Anyway veteran scene group RELOADED have been all over this new SecuROM which came with a few recent releases.

Out of the three games mentioned above, I've only played Spore. That did have server activated SecuROM (so did Alone in the Dark) and I have played the RELOADED release (with initial fix, not the crackfix which got nuked) just fine and did not notice any particular slowdowns.

Razor1911 released the original Crysis, 3 days before the game's street date. Which group will release Warhead? At the moment RELOADED seems to be a fine guess. While you wait for the game to be released, why not check some screenshots?

Bittorrents.ro is a Romania based private tracker which tracks general content such as Appz, Games, Movies and Music. Although the tracker has Romanian origins, 99% of the content it tracks is English. BiTT indexes both scene and non scene releases. It has been around for a while and they've implemented some cool features into the site as time progressed. BiTT recently implemented a new section called 'Vault and Free Torrents'. This is where it indexes most of their packs and low seeded torrents. Vault section is on free leech forever (Download stats not counted in your global ratio - only upload is recorded):

Speaking of packs. BiTT has over 100 packs, some of them as huge as 137GB. One thing I've noted about them is that they are not all unique; they index unique packs from other sites alongside their own. For example, I've seen packs from ScT (SceneTorrents), TL (TorrentLeech, TvT (Tv.Torrents.Ro), BitMeT and more. This is one way users who don't have access to aforementioned trackers may access their unique content. But indexing packs from other sites is often frowned upon in BT community.

Download and save Google Maps with Google Maps Downloader 4.80

I was looking forward for this one. An R5 (DVD for region 5) rip of popular movie Get Smart has been leaked by veteran scene group mVs (maVensSupplier). The release has DVD quality video and LiNE audio (Russian audio replaced by an external English source obtained from a previous TS). It comes in 1CD standard quality and since mVs is behind the rip, I wouldn't have any doubts about the quality. As for the movie, Get Smart has a decent IMDB rating of 7.3.

Get Smart R5 leaked

Another popular torrent tracker just opened signups. SceneFZ is a Romania based private tracker which tracks general and 0day content. This tracker usually requires an SMS code to register but since the signup are currently open, you may get in without providing such code.

SceneFZ is a decent tracker by any means. It's one of the very few general trackers I use regularly. It has a nice clean interface, decent pre times and excellent download speeds. There are around 30000 registered users on this tracker and it tracks 8500+ torrents at time of this post. SceneFZ indexes both scene releases and p2p releases and has a decent number of unique packs as well.

A DVD Screener of the popular Pixar animated movie Wall-E has been leaked to Internet. Well known scene group ALLiANCE is responsible for the leak and soon it will spread to FTP sites, UseNet newsgroups, one click hosting sites and bittorrent trackers across the world.

ALLiANCE release has decent video and audio quality but be warned that there are two watermarks one on top of the screen and the other on the bottom. ALLiANCE has blurred the watermarks but have not completely removed them but left trails of 'pink' behind. Something tells me this will be PROPERED soon. Anyway the rip is a standard 1CD (711MB) and is very watchable.

Speaking of the movie, it has a high IMDB rating of 8.7 and as always Pixar seems to have done a wonderful job.

WALL-E (promoted with an interpunct as WALL·E) is a 2008 computer-animated science fiction film produced by Pixar Animation Studios. The film was directed by Andrew Stanton. It follows the story of a robot named WALL-E who is designed to clean up a polluted Earth. He eventually falls in love with another robot named EVE, and follows her into outer space on an adventure.

DVD Screener of Wall-E leaked

Here is a second chance for the users who missed the previous 24 hour open signup. SynctheBits is a private torrent tracker specializing in mobile content. It indexes all sorts of mobile stuff including games, appz and even e-books for a wide range of mobile platforms. The platforms include Symbian, J2ME, Windows Mobile, iPhone, PalmOS, Nintendo DS, PSP, Blackberry etc.

There are currently 800+ users and 375+ torrents on this tracker. Apart from usual scene releases by groups such as BinPDA and rgPDA, StB have their own unique content such as 'StB Packs' and some apps and games not released by the scene.

VSO Software ConvertXtoDVD v3.2.0.52

You should know by now that Microsoft enhanced Windows XP anti piracy measures with Genuine Advantage v1.8.31.0 (KB905474). Just like all its predecessors, the new WGA too seem to have been cracked.

The release .nfo claims that the crack is "100% working on Windows Update, Microsoft Download Center and Microsoft Update". I've seen positive comments from people who ran it on XP SP2 and XP SP3 so it does indeed seem to work.

There is not much information available on the crack's creator/creators; creator is identified only as 'wind'. It doesn't look like a scene release as it has not been on any of the scene pre channels that we monitor.  However, a line in the release .nfo file reads "A tribute to ETH0, creator of base version crack." so we can assume that this was based on the popular WGA cracks released by scene group ETH0. ETH0 quit the scene a while ago after they were accused of having insecure members in the group. Someone seems to have continued ETH0's work from where they left it :)

Anyway the pirates have beaten a MS copy protection yet again. Now how many times have we seen that happen?
