Several months back, eBookVortex was definitely one of the best E-Book and E-Learning torrent trackers around. During its peak the site tracked over 2500 torrents and had several thousand registered members. However, it suffered from several lengthy downtimes in 2008 ([1], [2]). After being offline since December 2008, eBookVortex is now back online – and it’s open for new registrations.

If I remember correctly, the last downtime was due to the lack of donations to pay server bills. Following is quoted from a mass email sent to site members today:

Site is back up now. No data has been lost so everyone keeps their ratio. Server costs are £30 a month now, so if we miss it one month it'll have to go down.

Although no data has been lost in this instance, EbookVortex did lose the entire torrents index as well as the user database During one of the previous downtimes. As a result, it currently tracks only around 200 torrents. As of 10/1/2009.  eBookVortex has over 2200 registered members. The content on eBookVortex spans across multiple subjects such as computing to Electronics. Check the screenshot and categories below for more information.
