We sure do have a lot of promising new private torrent trackers popping up these days. Earlier we reported about a new Anime/Comic tracker Animatoonic and now we present you ScienceHD (SHD). ScienceHD is a Gazelle based private BitTorrent site which specializes in Sci-Fi (science fiction) movies, TV shows and premium documentaries related to science, nature, history, physics and lots of other interesting topics. Most of the content found on this tracker are in high definition (HD) format (1080p/720p MKV, etc). If you were looking forward to get into SHD, this could be your lucky day – it’s currently open for public registrations.

It’s only been a week since ScienceHD was officially launched and the site has already gotten off to a great start. SHD currently has a user base close to 800 members and tracks 350+ active torrents – excellent stats considering the site’s been closed to the public for the most part.

Speaking of the content on SHD, they can be grouped into two main categories;  science fiction movies, TV shows (entertainment) and documentaries & other educational content (infotainment). From TV shows such as Heroes, Eureka to HD documentaries from premium publishers such as Discovery Channel, National Geographic, The History Channel, SHD has something for everyone. Unlike most other torrent sites, SHD is not full of scene releases found almost on every general/0day tracker. They do have a nice collection of unique and exclusive releases (this includes some great ebook packs in addition to the multimedia content) and their dedicated uploader/encoder team will see to it that this collection is continuously expanded.

Another point that must be noted is the download speeds on SHD. When you browse the torrent list, you might come across a lot of torrents with  1 seeder (this may change with the open registrations). Even though there is only one seeder, expect the torrents to have blazing fast download speeds - almost all torrents on SHD are uploaded using seedboxes.

ScienceHD has been closed to the public ever since it’s inception. However we hear from staff that the site is set to have it’s first open signup period sometime today (no one knows the exact time except the SysOP) EDIT: It’s open! ScienceHD – Sci-Fi & Documentary Torrent Tracker - Open Signups Today

A PC Game release after what seems like an eternity! Velvet Assassin, a stealth action game developed by replay studios has leaked on the internet right on the game’s street date (official release date). Source of the leak appears to be veteran scene group Razor1911. Velvet Assassin is protected by Valve’s Steam. However,  Razor1911 seems to have cracked the protection present in the main executable. The release does not appear to be a Steam rip – Full DVD ISO’s present in the leaked version suggest that it might be from a retail source.

As far as I’m aware this title was distributed both via Steam as well as through retail stores. Both versions had the same anti piracy protection (much less intrusive that DRM such as SecuROM) embedded into them. Although Razor1911 have previously released several Steam rips with custom installers, and this release too is seemingly based on a custom installer.. Anyways the release has now spread to private trackers, public BitTorrent trackers, search engines, FTP servers and so on.

Speaking of the game, Velvet Assassin seems to be a fun game to play. Stealth elements are tightly integrated into the game and it actually brings back memories of good old Splinter Cell. Minimum system requirements to run the game are given below:

Although this title was cracked right on the release date, a major worry for pirates still remains. Chronicles of Riddick : Assault of Dark Athena remains uncracked even after more than 2 weeks since releases. It looks like SolidShied is keeping pirates at bay.

Extract audio tracks from FLV, MP4, AVI, 3GP & MPEG files with AoA Audio Extractor

AnimaTooniC (ATC) is a brand new private torrent tracker for anime, cartoons and comics. It’s only been ~2 weeks since their official launch and so far the site’s performance has been nothing short of impressive. Note that ATC runs on the lightning fast Gazelle codebase pioneered by What.cd crew. This is probably the first and only Gazelle tracker currently online that caters for  Anime/Cartoons/Comics niches. Public signups for AnimaTooniC are closed but that doesn’t mean interested readers cannot get in. We give away 75 free invites for this tracker plus an unlimited number of invites can be obtained from ATC IRC channel.

Ever since their launch, both the user base and torrent index of AnimaToonic has been growing at a rapid pace. As of 29/4/2009 ATC tracks 900+ torrents and has an active user base of over 600 members – pretty impressive stats for a two week old tracker that does not even have public signups.

As mentioned above ATC is a private tracker specializing in cartoons, comics and anime (no hentai or porn allowed). There are some pretty rare torrents online along with some great packs. The screenshot below captures some of the popular torrents on ATC:

How to get a free invite to ATC

There are two ways you can obtain a free invite to ATC. The recommended method is via their official invites channel. Here is a step by step guide on how to do this:

1. Take a speedtest from http://www.speedtest.net and have the direct link ready.
2. Make a screenshot of your ratio on any other site and upload it to a image hosting services such as tinypic.
3. Connect to the ATC invites IRC channel.

   If you are an IRC noob, we suggest you read this article.
4. Wait patiently and see if somebody would be kind enough to invite you. Do not PM the channel OPs and piss them off. You will be voiced when they are ready for you.

In addition, Animatoonic admins have been kind enough to give us 75 free invites to give away to FILEnetworks Blog readers. To obtain one follow the steps below:

1. Create a new email message with the subject Animatoonic. In the body of the message clearly specify the E-mail address you want the invite sent to. Do not use hotmail as there are known issues with the service – invites will not be sent to Hotmail addresses (Gmail works fine).
2. Send the email to filenetworks[at]gmail[dot]com
3. Drawback of this method is that it may take us some time to manually send you the E-mail (maybe even 2-3 days). Plus the number of invites we have is limited to 75 while there is an unlimited supply available on IRC.

Please use only one of the methods specified above to request your free ATC invite (either the IRC method or E-mail but not both). Creating multiple accounts will get you banned from the tracker. AnimaTooniC Tracker – Download Anime, Cartoon and Comic Torrents – Free Invites

If you haven’t been living under a rock in the past few weeks, you should be well aware of the mass shutdown of Swedish BitTorrent trackers by now. Sweden’s BitTorrent scene sort of collapsed after Pirate Bay lost the first round of the legal battle about a week ago. More than 18 private torrent trackers were shut down, including popular sites such as SweDVDR, SoftMP3 and SceneHD. However, it seems that some trackers have decided not to go down without a fight - At least two Swedish trackers (Swepiracy and Piratetorrents) seem to be in the process of moving their servers to come back online under a new host.

Swepiracy, a popular Swedish general tracker now display the following message on its homepage (http://www.swepiracy.nu): 

Swepiracy will be reborn with a new owner from a new country. Be patient and do not forget to vote.

Although I'm not sure what ‘don't’ forget to vote’ means, the first part of the message is clear enough – the site will be reborn.

Also set to return is the popular General tracker PirateTorrents. At the time of shut down Piratetorrents had close to 20000 members and tracked over 15000 torrents. Following message (translated from Swedish) is now displayed on the site homepage (http://www.piratetorrents.nu/):

We are currently moving servers and it will be better than the previous setup! By 29/4 everything should be ready and back online. All accounts will be retained – only the servers will be moved to a new home.

It’s always good to see trackers rise from the ashes and give anti piracy agencies the finger. Hopefully other sites that have shut down too will be able to come back online in the near future.

Swepiracy and Piratetorrents to return after shut down?

There has been a lot of dedicated sports trackers featured in FILEnetworks Blog before but we have never posted about a site that entirely focused on Tennis. T3nnis.tv is one such specializes Tennis torrent tracker which has a lot of international event (ATP, WTA, etc) videos, highlights, related TV shows and even movies. Even though this is a niche tracker, it has a strong following and is well established in the BitTorrent scene after being online for over a year. Good news is that registrations are open and interested members can now sign up for free.

As of 28/4/2009, T3nnis.tv currently has a user base of 15000+ members (this is a surprisingly large number for a niche tracker). The site also tracks close to 2500 active torrents. Seeding and maintaining a good ratio on this tracker is not that hard – there are tons of free leech and double upload enabled torrents. However in case you need some additional help with ratio building, the integrated karma bonus points system will come in handy.

As for the content, it’s all about Tennis. You can find pretty much anything (both old and new content) related to this sport on T3nnis.tv. T3nnis.tv – Download Tennis Torrents

There are a lot of 3rd party tools such as RivaTuner around for NVIDIA display adapters that offer 100x better functionality than the official NVIDIA control panel. nHancer is one such utility that will enable you tweak your NVIDIA driver settings effectively including an array of advanced customization options that are not available with the drivers by default. nHancer 2.5.1 – Easily customize and unlock advanced options for NVIDIA GPUs

Currently there is a lot of panic among members of various BitTorrent forums and torrent news blogs. Reason? The world's largest BitTorrent tracker, The Pirate Bay has been inaccessible for the past few hours. We ourselves have got more than 50 emails in the past few hours from concerned members asking whether TPB has been taken down. The panic is justifiable given what's been going on in Sweden since Pirate Bay lost in court. However the good news is that TPB has not been shut down. They are just suffering from a routing problem.

According to information posted on official 'site status' thread on SuprBay forums, a fiber link related to the site's operations is broken. There is however a temporary workaround to access TPB since IPV6 connectivity is not affected:

Pirate Bay not shut down - Here is how to access the site and tracker

There has been some good news on the HD Trackers front in the past few days. Earlier today HD-Bits.Ro opened signups (now closed) and now we feature another specialized HD torrent tracker that is open for public registrations. HDChina is a BitTorrent tracker of Chinese origin which has a lot of English, Chinese, Taiwanese, Hong Kong, Japanese and Korean HD content including movies, TV shows, documentaries and music videos. HDChina is an underrated HD tracker- people seem to get turned off by the Chinese interface but there is actually a lot of English releases available on this site.

Something that most people don’t know is that there is an option to change the language at HDChina. Once logged in, just click on the English flag icon on the top left corner of the page to set interface language to English (there are 3 more language options – Chinese, Japanese and Korean). Also note that this site labels almost all torrents including English only releases using both Chinese and English wording. Just because a torrent has a Chinese name does not mean it’s a Chinese localized release.

Language woes aside, HDChine is in fact a decent HD tracker. It has a 25000+ strong user base and tracks over 10500 torrents. Torrents found here includes US, UK TV shows/movies as well as Asian content (see categories below for more). Asian releases can usually be identified by the following tags on torrent title: CN – Chinese, HK – Honk Kong, TW – Taiwanese, JP – Japanese, KR – Korean. Both scene and non scene p2p releases can be found on this tracker. 

There are some great packs online on HDChina. Some of these are pretty huge. Largest I found was a massive 436GB pack which included 68 Blu-Ray movies released by group ESiR. Some packs however seem to be taken (stolen?) from other torrent sites such as TheBox and HD-Bits.Ro.

Signups for HDChina are usually closed and when they do open it’s usually for a short period of time. This time however signups will stay open till the 29th of April:

HDChina – Chinese BitTorrent tracker for US, UK and Asian HD content

A new release candidate (RC) build of Blender has been released. Blender is a software that allows you to create 3D animations such as TV commercials, technical visualizations, character animation and even business graphics. It’s a powerful yet simple application which only takes about 50MB hard disk space & does not require behemoth of a computer to run. Although it may not have all the features of industry leading 3D animation tools such as 3DMAX or Maya, Blender can be used to create some pretty cool animations quickly and easily – not a bad feat considering it’s totally free.

One of the downsides of this software is that the user interface is not that user friendly – I found it a bit too cluttered for my liking. And note that Blender is not that easy to learn. Thankfully, there are lots of free video tutorials available on YouTube that’ll make things a lot easier. Just do a search for ‘blender tutorial’ on YouTube and you should get plenty of useful results. Once you get the hang of it, you can do some pretty amazing things with this software.

Blender 2.49 – Create TV commercials, visualizations and other 3D animations

If you’ve ever downloaded a pirated Microsoft Windows release from the internet, you may have heard of the name ‘BIE’. BIE is a veteran release group who focused mainly on cracking Microsoft operating systems such as Windows Vista. In addition to official builds, BIE also released OS versions which had latest hotfixes and new features from Windows Update integrated into them. Anyways bad news for pirates and good news for Microsoft – BIE seems to be quitting the scene, at least for a limited period of time. Quoted below is the SceneNotice titled SINCERELY-BIE they released on the 19th April:

Scene release group BIE calls it quits

Update: This was originally posted 6 days ago but open signups didn't last for long back then. Since Hd-Bits is open again, we are reviving this post.

One of the best private HD trackers currently in existence, HD-Bits.Ro, has been opening its doors to the public at regular intervals in the past couple of days. There is however no guarantee on the tracker being open for a long period of time – there is no official notice of an open signup mentioned on the homepage. However at the time this post is being written, registrations are open to the public. They seem to be deleting inactive members frequently which frees up slots within the user limit of 18000 members.

With over 17500 active members and over 3700 HD torrents, HD-Bits.ro is easily one of the best and largest HD trackers currently online. Download speeds on this tracker are superb – you are likely to max out your high bandwidth internet connection when downloading torrents. Pre times are also pretty decent around here.

As for the content on this tracker, HD-Bits.Ro indexes HD movies, HDTV series, HD Documentaries, adult content and even some lossless music and HD music videos. Scene releases as well as a lot of p2p and home user encodes are available for download. Content on Hd-Bits.Ro includes lots of torrent packs (collections). The screenshot below captures some of the many HD packs available on this tracker:

Before jumping on the bandwagon and creating an account on HD-Bits.Ro – there is something you should know. This tracker imposes monthly minimum traffic requirements. That is “Accounts with a cumulate traffic (download and upload) less than 10GB/month will be disabled after a 1-week warning.” (More information about this rule can be found in our article located here). So if you are not planning to use this site for heavy downloading, don’t bother creating an account.

As mentioned above signups are currently open. If you get user limit reached error messages, keep trying. It’s been occasionally opening and closing for the past few days and eventually you should get in.

HD-Bits.Ro – Private HD torrent tracker occasionally open

Great news for punk music lovers – Kraytracker is open for public registrations. For those of you who don’t know what it is, Kraytracker is a private BitTorrent tracker and a community which specializes in punk/ska/hardcore and other alternative music genres. It’s a highly sought after BitTorrent tracker which is almost always closed to the public (just do a Google search and you’ll see many invite request threads for Kraytracker). In addition to the torrents, this site is known for its close knit community of members.

As of 25/4/2009, Kraytracker has close to 3000 members and tracks over 6600 active torrents. It has a nice, clean layout that is very much navigable. Search features on this site are also very good with users being able to sort the results by many elements such as the no. of seeders, leechers, snatches etc as well as the ability to search for free leech torrents.

Speaking of the content found on Kraytracker, I'd say it’s similar to that of PunkTorrents (Open). A lot of punk/hardcore/rap (see categories below for more) music is tracked here, both old and new. Some of the torrents found on Kraytracker are pretty rare and not usually found on other music trackers.

As mentioned above registrations are currently open. Kraytracker is not a site that opens up frequently and we do not know for how long it will stay open this time around. Get in while you can.

Kraytracker – Alternative music torrent tracker signups open

As we reported earlier, lots of things related to file sharing in Sweden changed with the Pirate Bay verdict. Some trackers shut down completely and some underwent changes. TTi.nu (The Internationals), which was one of the best General/0Day private trackers with lots of scene and p2p releases (most of them copyrighted material) has turned into a BitTorrent tracker with only legal music torrents. In order to get more exposure to the ‘new’ TTi, public signups and invites for existing members have been re-opened.

All older torrents have been deleted from TTi and they are currently left with only 39 torrents in the database. This however is sill a huge tracker in terms of the number of registered users – there are over 23000 of em. Download Legal Music Torrents from TTi Tracker – Signups Open

When it comes to mounting Clone DVD’s of games and software, Daemon Tools is my favorite application. It' doesn’t eat system resources, has minimum compatibility issues and almost always does a perfect job in emulating certain anti piracy protections. A new version of Daemon Tools Lite was released about two days ago with some great new features including support for Windows 7 beta and the ability to create compressed images. This version also includes a new version of SPTD (SCSI Pass Through Direct) – SPTD 1.58.

As far as I know image compression was a feature that was previously included only with Daemon Tools Pro, the paid version. Note that I have not been able to test this on a Windows 7 system so far to check out the new Windows 7 beta functionality. I can however confirm that v4.30.4 works just fine with both 32bit and 64bit editions of Windows XP and Windows Vista (but you already knew that). Anyways given below is the changelog for the new build over 4.30.3:

DAEMON Tools Lite 4.30.4 with Windows 7 support – Direct download

There’s been a lot of Demonoid open signups lately and here goes another. Regardless of the many open registration periods, we sitll get a lot of requests for Demonoid invites posted in our previous giveaway threads and the open signup period is a great opportunity for those readers to get themselves a free Demonoid account without the need for an invite code. Fake DRM
There have been reports of torrents including an info file that states that the file came from Demonoid.com, and that you need to 'install a DRM identifier' in order to play a video file. Those files are fakes, and someone is trying to make you install some trojan. If you come accross one of those, delete them and report them in the tracker or indexing site you got them from so they can remove them

Demonoid registrations open – 24 April, 2009

Private torrent trackers that specialize in E-Learning content always have huge demand in the BitTorrent scene. Most of the good E-Learning trackers are usually invite only and getting in to some of the high profile sites such as Bitme is considered difficult. Here is some good news for those who are looking to get into a decent E-Learning tracker – you can easily obtain a BitSpyder invite from their IRC channel for free. BitSpyder is an excellent torrent site which tracks many E-books, test kits, test engines, video training modules and other content related to a wide range of categories both educational and non educational.
Update: BitSpyder has blocked invites so there is no point of joining the channel. “I'm not in the mood to screen 100 screaming noobs wanting invites”.

Also, the following is posted on the IRC channel:

Timed Message: All users joining for an invite.. such as those who have heard about us from a particular blog will not be successful. The channel is set to +m, and will remain so for several hours, or days if necessary. Current members can PM me with your username to gain a voice (allows you to speak). Password recovery/Banned users-> PM me your username and email.

Original Post: From my experience at BitSpyder, I'd say it’s an equally good tracker as Bitme which is considered as the best E-learning tracker currently online (I've been a member of both sites for more than a year). With over 23000 members and 8400+ active torrents, it’s one of the largest trackers catering this niche as well.

To get a glimpse of the content available on BitSpyder, have a look at the screenshot below (screen removed at the request of site administrators)

Now let’s get back to the main topic of this article – invites. Yes, you can get a free BitSpyder invite if you spend some time on their IRC channel. You might need to prove that you are not a hit and runner/cheater or any other scammer in order to be invited. For this you will be asked to provide a ratio proof from any tracker that you are a power user of and have a ratio above 1.0 (such preconditions may not always be the same – they usually depend on the inviter).

Step by step tutorial on how to get an invite:

1. You’ll need to download an IRC client first. I’d recommend you download and install mIRC – download links and tutorial can be found here. (Or you may use a web based IRC client such as Mibbit)
2. Once IRC client is set up, change you nickname to whatever nickname you want to have on BitSpyder tracker (in mIRC, nickname can be changed in Tools—>Options menu.
3. Join the BitSpyder IRC channel. This is located on IRC server irc.bitspyder.net and the channel name is #bitspyder. If you are using mIRC click on this direct link irc://irc.bitspyder.net/bitspyder to instantly visit the channel. 
4. Once in the channel, type !rules and press enter to get the IRC channel rules via PM. Read them thoroughly because if you want an invite, you better not break any of these.
5. Ask for an invite in the main channel (do not PM members or spam the channel). Wait for staff to respond.

As it has happened many times before, BitSpyder IRC channel will be flooded with users once this post is published. Staff will have their work cut out and you might have to idle for a long period of time on the channel in order to get invited. However the wait may be well worth it because eventually you’ll get into one of the best E-learning trackers currently in existence.

BitSpyder E-Learning tracker – How to get a free invite

Kill and remove hidden and hard to terminate processes with Process Hacker

You are probably tired of hearing about trackers being shut down because that’s been happening a lot lately. LeechersLair, a large General/0Day tracker that was featured on FILEnetworks Blog several times, too was forced offline by the Malaysian government due to possible copyright infringement (at the time of shut down, LL was hosted by Shinjiru, a hosted based in Malaysia). However, we learn that this will not be the end of LeechersLair – tracker staff are determined to bring the site back online, even if it meant moving to a host in a different country.

We’ve been getting a lot of E-mails from concerned LL members so thought it was best to post an update on this Blog. Quoted below is what Felix2003 (LL Moderator) told us about the current status of the site:

At the moment the Malaysian government ordered prominent webhosting provider Shinjiru to close down the site LeechersLair.com. to inspect the server for illegal file sharing.
We have taken all action in protecting our members data and the site will be back online in the next day maybe 2 as we are unsure as to how long there investigation will take regardless of the outcome LL will not be shut down and we will be moving servers to a more secure location as Shinjieu can no longer be trusted

At the time it was forced offline, LeechersLair had a user base in excess of 18000 members and tracked over 6000 active torrents. We at FILEnetworks Blog wish LL admins and staff best of luck in their efforts to restore the tracker and the site quickly.

For BitTorrent trackers that are hosted in Sweden, these are indeed dark times. Once a safe heaven for torrent sites, Sweden’s BitTorrent tracker scene has been collapsing ever since The Pirate Bay lost their case in Swedish court. In addition to the bunch of private trackers that closed earlier, two more popular Swedish trackers have decided to shut down their operations; SoftMP3 and SweDVDR. Another popular site based in Sweden, TTi.nu, has undergone major changes fearing legal action - It looks as if TTi will refrain from tracking copyrighted content in the future.

We have quoted below some of the messages posted on these sites informing members of the shutdown/changes. Note that some of these are translated versions since the original messages were in Swedish/Hungarian.

Following is now displayed on the homepage of SoftMP3, a popular private tracker that specialized in music torrents:

It is with great sadness we inform our members that this tracker is closed indefinitely on grounds of safety.

And quoted below is a new post from SweDVDR – a large torrent site that tracked untouched DVDR releases of Swedish and English movies. They were apparently threatened by Swedish Anti-Piracy Agency with legal action:

Most Swedish trackers including Swedvdr has received threats from the Anti-Piracy Office so torrent activity must stop.
Since I do not want litigation against me will be sadly Swedvdrs tracker and torrents disappear within a week.

Popular General/0Day tracker TTi.nu too have undergone a shocking policy change ahead of the mass shutdown of Swedish trackers. Below is a message posted by TTi staff on site homepage:

The future of TTi
All of us in Staff just came back from a 1 hour long meeting regarding the future of TTi. The meeting is now over and we have finally come to a conclusion.

Meanwhile the elusive and well hidden general/0day tracker DarkSide (DS – not to be confused with the torrent index DarkSide_RG) too have decided to shut down. Unlike other sites mentioned in this article, DarkSide is not shutting down due to legal threats (Swedish law has no impact on DarkSide since it’s a Hungarian tracker). As far as we know reasons for DS closure include the bad behavior (Hit and Run, etc) and attitude of majority of the site’s users as well as a flurry of low quality releases uploaded to the tracker recently. Anyways DarkSide was a great tracker and it will no doubt be greatly missed by it’s loyal members.

SoftMP3, SweDVDR and DarkSide trackers to shut down, TTi policy change

Yesterday we talked about how a bunch of private trackers closed down for good and today we talk about the birth of a new BitTorrent site. That’s how it is in the world of BitTorrent  - sites get shut down, new sites go online and the Hydra lives on. Dead-Skull.net is a brand new private torrent tracker that specializes in Horror movies. As you may not there aren’t many specializes horror trackers out there apart from a handful such as Scarethe.Net, The Horror Charnel, & Cinemageddon. Therefore, Dead-Skull has great potential for growth in this almost untouched niche category.

As mentioned above Dead-Skull is a new entrant to the BitTorrent scene. At the time this post is being written there are only 26 members and 5 torrents on this tracker. Before you say ‘duh!’, note that Dead Skull has only been online for 5 days - all new trackers start small so give it some time for the news to spread and user base and torrent index to expand.

Dead Skull seems to be a private tracker from Russia. The interface language and the indexed content (so far) however are all English. This tracker actually has a nice, uncommon layout which is easy to navigate.

 

At this point of time not much else can be said about Dead Skull since it’s so new. Like all new BitTorrent sites it’ll have to face the test of time and survive the early stages. The start however looks promising and if you are looking for a new horror movie tracker, check this site out (signups are open).

Over the past few years, Microsoft have released some really crappy software – this definitely isn’t one of them. Microsoft Photosynth is a cool, innovative app developed by MS Live Labs which lets you construct three dimensional views using a collection of related images. The official page describes the software as “In simple terms, Photosynth allows you to take a bunch of photos of the same scene or object and automatically stitch them all together into one big interactive 3D viewing experience that you can share with anyone on the web”.

It’s really not easy to describe the functionality of Photosynth in a simple blog post such as this – you’ve got to try it out to really get an idea of what it can do. Thankfully the software is free of charge and is not a huge download. A new build of PhotoSynth (2.0.109.0415.1554) was released just a day ago and we have included the direct download links to this version below.

Microsoft Photosynth Download – Display image collections in 3D space

After what seems like an eternity, Torrent Bully is open for public signups. Torrent Bully is a General/0Day private torrent tracker with movies, music, games, E-books and specially a lot of TV series and MMA/UFC content. Although you may have not heard about this tracker before, it’s a well established private trackers with an active community of its own. TB is several years old and there hasn’t been many public open registrations during this time.

Torrent Bully currently has close to 8500 members and tracks 3500+ torrents. It’s a general tracker but as mentioned above they’ve given a lot of focus to TV shows and MMA/UFC related events. Popular torrents are well seeded, usually by over 50 seeders.

One of the downsides with this tracker is that it does not have many exclusive release or packs. There are some UFC packs but these seems to have been obtained from TorrentBytes tracker and are not exclusive. However, there is no shortage of 0day torrents here.

As mentioned earlier the site has opened signup after a very long time. A notice is posted on homepage regarding the open signups:

In order to ensure high speeds for all our users we enforce a strict seeding policy here. Torrent Bully – Private tracker for general scene and p2p releases

Until recently, Sweden was a popular safe heaven for both public and private BitTorrent trackers. However, the outcome of the recent Piratebay trial and the introduction of the IPRED law seems to have changed this perception. Soon after the Pirate Bay lost in court, several private BitTorrent trackers hosted in Sweden have decided to voluntarily shut down their operations fearing legal action. Some of these sites have entirely closed down while some have shut down only the BitTorrent tracker.

Over 10 Swedish private torrent trackers have so far closed their doors during the few days since TPB verdict was given. Popular trackers such as Swebits, Nordicbits, Swepiracy, ZineBytes, Piratebits, Wolfbits, Swebay, MP3Nerds and even the popular ratio free tracker Seedit are among those that have shut down. Talks of a possible shut down have surrounded the HD torrent tracker SceneHD as well (EDIT: SceneHD is not closing down).

Following message is quoted from Nordicbits homepage:

We have to shut down the site now due all circumstances. We don.t have time to do anything to the code, we don.t have interest to it, we don.t have any more money and the biggest reason is The Pirate Bay info.
We want to say thanks to everyone who made NordicBits possible, users, uploaders, seeder, moderators and administrators.
Hopefully the page will come back online late, but we new design, new information.

Similar messages are posted on several other sites that have shut down/planning to shut down. Some trackers however have completely closed down by now and are not accessible anymore.

This does not mean that Sweden no longer hosts private torrent trackers. Some of the large and well established sites hosted in Sweden such as SweDVDR and RARBG continue to function normally. Ironically, the site involved in the case that triggered mass shutdowns, The Pirate Bay, too is still online.

Swedish private torrent trackers shut down after Piratebay ruling

When it comes to PC security software, Kaspersky Lab’s products usually kick ass both in terms of usability and effectiveness. Heads up if you are interested in new Kaspersky product releases – new beta builds of both Kaspersky Anti Virus 2010 and Kaspersky Internet Security 2010 have been released. These new builds however are still in early beta testing stages and are nowhere near the final release. In case you are willing to install and try these new versions out, we have included direct download links at the end of this article since they are still not available via the official web site.

I have not yet had the time to test KAV 2010 or KIS 2010 betas extensively. Some of the differences over v2009 that were noticeable included a new revamped user interface as well as improvements in manual scanning time. More information about v2010 beta releases can be found on KIS/KAV2010 beta testing thread on Kaspersky Labs forums.

Kaspersky Anti Virus 2010 and Internet Security 2010 beta builds released

From the responses we get to our comics related posts, we know that a lot of comic fans read this blog. This posts goes to them. Out of the 1000 odd private torrent trackers out there, there are hardly any dedicated comics trackers. Take FILEnetworks Blog for example – we have reviews of over 150 General/0Day trackers but of only one comics tracker. Good news is that a new specialized comics tracker has stepped in to fill this void. It’s simply named Comics Torrent Tracker, or CTT. CTT has not been around for that long but the site certainly looks promising.

For those concerned with statistics, CTT currently has over 1200 members and tracks over 900 active torrents. Some of the torrents that are indexed use external trackers such as TPB (these are of course all free leech). CTT does have their own BitTorrent tracker (which is private) - there is a good number of indexed torrents tracked using this as well.

Speaking of the content, there are all sorts of comics available for download. This includes both US/English and non English comic books (see categories below for more information). One of the thing I’ve noticed in CTT is that they index a lot of 0day comic packs – a valuable resource for hard core comics fans.

There is a bonus system present on CTT – you can exchange bonus points for upload credit. All new users start with 100 bonus points as well as 1GB upload credit.

CTT is currently open for registrations. If you are looking for a site to download electronic version of comics, give this site a go. You might end up liking it.

Comic Torrent Tracker (CTT) – Download comics for free

About two weeks ago we held our fourth Cinematik invitation giveaway with 99 free invite codes. The response we received for that was quite overwhelming – over 250 requests were received within a few hours. Unfortunately, we only had 99 codes at our disposal and a lot of readers missed out on getting an invite. What is Cinematik tracker?

Private Tracker Open Signup Update – 17 April, 2009

One of the worst things that can happen to a private torrent tracker is a database failure that results in data loss. Popular movie torrent tracker PassThePopcorn (PtP) just went though one such nightmarish database crash which resulted in a massive loss of user accounts, torrents, user stats, forum posts and lots of other data. Thankfully the majority of the lost data were recovered using a previous backup. This backup however was three weeks old – for existing PtP members it may seem like the site went three weeks back in time.

Following is quoted from a news post published on PtP homepage:

On April 14th, we lost our database. We have recovered the database from 3-27-09. Due to this loss, all torrents, forum posts, ratio histories, donations, etc. after 3-27-2009 were lost. Any torrents you have downloaded that are no longer on the site can be re-uploaded. Please check before uploading as not to upload a duplicate copy.
We have made each and every torrent freeleech. Enjoy! All site rules apply!
Steps have been taken to prevent this in the future

Judging by posts on various file sharing and BitTorrent forums, lots of PtP members have lost bonus credits, user class promotions, ratio stats and in some cases even invitees. This also means that if you registered on PtP on or after 3-27-2009, your account itself may have got deleted. This is why the administrators have opened signups for an indefinite period of time – those who lost their accounts can now create a new account and re-join the tracker.

Lock and password protect any folder on your PC with My Lockbox 1.2

What’s up with tracker admins these days? Yesterday it was bitGAMER (still open) and LeechersLair (still open) and now CZTeam (CzT) have opened their doors to the public. CZTeam is an excellent, highly sought after general/0day torrent tracker from Romania. Some of you may never have heard about the name ‘CZTeam’ before – that’s because this tracker was previously known as CZONE (they recently changed names). CZTeam retains the huge torrent index and the user base of CZONE and is definitely a great general tracker to be a part of.

Although CZTeam is a Romanian tracker, almost all the content here are English releases. Pre times and download speeds on this tracker are generally very good. As of 15/4/2009, CZTeam tracks 6200+ torrents and has an active user base of 26500+ members. Lots and lots of free leech torrents (no download recorded, only upload counts) can also be found here – for example large torrent packs are usually on free leech.

Speaking of large packs and exclusive releases, there are sh1tloads of these on CZTeam. Out of the 4500 odd torrents currently being tracked, over 650 are releases exclusive to this tracker (exclusive releases can be identified by the ‘CzT’ tag at the end of a torrent title). To get a better idea on torrent packs and exclusive releases available on CZTeam, refer to the screenshot below:

If you are an English speaking user, you wouldn’t particularly love the interface and layout of CZTeam. From the signup page to browse page everything is written in Romanian and there is no option to switch languages. This however is not a huge problem as all the functions in the main toolbar are labeled in English (the releases or the actual content on CZT are almost all English, as mentioned earlier). For the benefit of English speaking users, CZTeam has setup a subforum titled ‘English Help & Fun Forum’ – you can always get help/chat in English in this section.

CZTeam Tracker signups open – probably for the last time

Lots of good trackers opening up these days – latest to join the club is LeechersLair (LL) – a decent private torrent tracker that has been closed to the public for the past few months. LeechersLair is a general tracker which means that you’ll be able to find and downloads all sorts of torrents including movies, music , games, E-books, software and 0-day releases and more. Note that LL is not a scene releases only tracker – both scene and p2p releases are tracked along with a few exclusive releases of their own.

When it comes to statistics, LL does great in comparison to most other private trackers. It has a user base in excess of 17500 members and tracks 6200+ torrents. LL is a well established tracker in the BitTorrent scene and has been online for more than three years. Download speeds on this tracker are quite good. According to admins, all torrents are seeded using 100mbit seedboxes.

Recently LL launched the ‘LL Xclusives’ feature which is all about torrents exclusive to this tracker. Chances are that you will not find these rare releases elsewhere on any other BitTorrent tracker. Torrents exclusive to LL can be found in the LL Xclusives section. In addition to exclusive torrents, there are a lot of torrent packs online as well. The screenshot below captures some of the packs found on LL:

LeechersLair tracker signups open – Now with exclusive releases

Build 7106 of Microsoft’s upcoming operating system Windows 7 has leaked on the internet. Significance of this build is that it’s speculated to be the first build in the RTM (Release To Manufacturing) branch of the OS. Initially a Chinese version of Windows 7 Build 7106 was leaked and shortly after English and Russian versions (in the form of patched ISO images) were released. The latest version of Windows 7 officially released to the public as of 15/4/2009 is Windows 7 Beta 1 (build 7000).

Although it’s been more than three months since a pre-release build was officially released by Microsoft, almost all subsequent builds of Windows 7 (7022, 7077, 7106 and so on) have leaked on the internet. Sources of these leaked versions were various – some were leaked by p2p oriented sources while some builds were released by scene groups such as WinBeta. It is not exactly known who released build 7106 first. I have seen on several places download links (both HTTP and torrent) being provided for the leaked build along with few serial numbers that are supposed to work with it. There is a leak at your house Redmond, you better patch it up soon! (or are you doing it on purpose :P ?)

Windows 7 build 7106 leaked on internet

Some refreshing news for those who missed out on the Blackcats IRC referral giveaway yesterday and great news for PC and console game fans in general – bitGAMER, an excellent private tracker for games, is currently open for signup. IMHO this tracker is right up there among the top 3 private games trackers currently online along with Blackcats-Games and Underground-Gamer. bitGAMER indexes PC games, Console games, games for handheld devices, hacks, tools, mods, game guides and everything else that is related to electronic gaming and is a must have tracker if you are a gamer.

bitGAMER is quite huge for a dedicated games tracker – it has 21000+ registered members and the number of active torrents being tracked exceeds 4050. A fact most people aren’t aware of is that BG is a partner site of Underground-Gamer – bitGAMER tracks more modern stuff while UG leans towards retro gaming scene.

As mentioned earlier there are all sorts of PC/Mac/Console games available on this tracker (See categories list below for detailed information). Most of the new games are very well seeded - usually by over 100 seeders.  In addition to individual games torrents, bitGAMER has a good number of packs – these include XBOX Scene Projects, PS2 Fullsets, PC ISO Scene Collections, Sony PSP Scene Projects, GameCube Scene Projects and so on.

bitGAMER – Excellent PC and console games torrent tracker signups open

Pretorians is an extremely popular Hungarian private torrent tracker for General/0Day releases. Although the site is of Hungarian origin, there are plenty of English releases available for download as well – this includes both scene releases as well as releases by p2p oriented groups. Pretorians is usually closed for public signup and requires users to be invited by existing members. The site however has now opened it’s doors to the public – if you are thinking of creating an account, now would be a good time.

Pretorians is one of the larger private trackers out there. The site has over 41000 registered users and currently tracks close to 9500 active torrents. There are both Hungarian and English releases available. If you are looking for English releases, look inside eBook/Eng, Film/DVD-R/Eng, Film/HD/Eng, Film/XViD/Eng, Mp3/Eng, Program/iSO, Program/RiP categories.

Pretorians – Large Hungarian private torrent tracker signups open

For some of our readers, this will probably be the best news they heard in 2009. The famed dedicated games torrent tracker Blackcats Games is giving out free referral codes on their IRC channel. Although there are a few referral codes issued to current users, you won’t have much luck obtaining one if you don’t personally know an existing member. So when it comes to getting into BCG as a new user, signing up via an IRC referral seems to be the easiest possible method. As of 13/4/2009, Blackcats-Games has a user base of around 29000 members and tracks 10900+ active torrents.

The following is quoted from a message stoi (BCG Owner) posted on FST a few hours ago. Read it in full, specially the parts that are in bold:

BCG is sort of having open signups. We are taking new members in our IRC irc.blackcats-games.net

a few things to make clear first though
1: There is only a couple of staff doing this, so dont just sit there and think, nothing is happening and leave. also because there is only a couple of staff doing it, you may have to wait while.
2: you are supposed to tell us a joke and you will probably get in (not my idea).
3: make sure you have an email, that is not yahoo or hotmail and is less then 30 characters long, that includes the @whatever.com
4: You will be going on the staff members referral tree, so if you fuck up, the staff member will get punished as well, well as you can tell from that, if this happens we will not be happy, and you may find yourself banned from more than BCG.
5: You do get 15gig on your upload as soon as you join auto (this is only from a staff referral, if a user refers you, you only get 2 gig. But this does not mean you can hit and run, see point 6.

How to join BCG IRC Channel

The main BCG IRC channel is #blackcats on irc.blackcats-games.net. This channel is usually accessible only to registered members. All non members are first taken to #waitingroom which is where you can request for invites (as i understand). Here is how you can join #waitingroom:

1. You’ll need to download an IRC client first. Web based IRC clients are banned from BCG as far as i know. I’d recommend you download and install mIRC – download links and tutorial can be found here.
2. Once IRC client is set up, change you nickname to whatever nickname you want to have on BCG tracker (in mIRC, nickname can be changed in Tools—>Options menu.
3. Join the BCG IRC channel. This is located on IRC server irc.blackcats-games.net:6667 and the channel name is #blackcats (non members will automatically be taken to #waitingroom). If you are using mIRC click on this direct link irc://irc.blackcats-games.net:6667/blackcats to instantly visit the channel. 

The current topic of #waitingroom is set to:

Blackcats-Games open signups via IRC – Free referrals

Latest PC title by Gas Powered Games, Demigod, has leaked on the internet a day before the game’s street date. Responsible for the leak are p2p group DEViSE who are better known for releasing pirated movies on p2p networks. Demigod is a little unusual game and quite honestly I haven’t seen anything like it so far. It’s a hybrid of action, real time strategy and role playing genres. According to developers Demigod has a lot in common with DOTA (Defence of the Ancients), the popular multiplayer map for Warcraft 3.

 

As we mentioned earlier it was group DEViSE who leaked Demigod on p2p networks. The following information is quoted from their NFO:

We've got this from one of our guys. The cracker is unknown. We did the rest of the work but the kuddos goes to the original cracker! btw: It's here 2 days earlier...

It’s actually a little strange to find DEViSE giving credit to a ‘cracker’ because when i ran protectionID on Demigod exe the game didn’t seem to have any sort of anti piracy protection at all. Anyways the DEViSE release seems to be working find expect for several people running into the following issue:

• The game does not start up and does nothing when clicked on the exe (nothing happens when you run the game). I’ve seen several people running on Windows XP report this problem on various gaming forms. I have also seen comments by those who got the game to run perfectly on both Vista and XP operating systems. Might have something to do with hardware configuration?

Pirates crack Demigod (PC) before release date

DVDSeed is a tracker that’s very often posted on open signup threads by various members who claim it’s open for registrations. But the truth is this tracker is almost always closed and requires an invite code to get in (automatic signup checkers seem to mistakenly detect this site as open even when it requires invite - might explain the excessive open signup postings). Now here is the good news – DVDSeed is open for signups, this time for real. For those who don’t know what it is, DVDSeed is a private tracker with DVDR and Blu-Ray movies. There are a lot of Polish releases as well as English releases available on this tracker.

You’ll notice two things the moment you get into this tracker; 1. Everything is written in Polish, 2. The site uses a lot of flash animations. There is unfortunately no option to change the interface language from Polish to English - you’ll have to use your common sense to navigate the site. The content on this site is mainly movies in DVDR and Blu-Ray formats (untouched versions with full menus and extras). DVDSeed has a lot of releases with Polish audio – if you are looking for English movies you don’t want to download these. You can however use the tags on torrent name to filter out releases with English audio. Below are some sample tags and what they usually mean:

• PL- Polish Audio
• PLSUB – Polish Subtitles and usually English Audio
• MULTISUBS – Multilanguage Subtitles, usually English Audio

As an additional precaution, always go to the torrent details page and check under ‘Spoken Language’ or ‘Audio’ fields and check if English is included.

DVDSeed – Polish and English DVD/Blu-Ray movie tracker signups open

Here is a new addition to our TV Trackers section after a while. torrentsRmine (TRM) is a private torrent tracker that specializes in TV serials and documentaries. TRM is a bit different from other TV Trackers such as BitMeTV and Tv.Torrents.Ro - the main focus is given to talk shows (Dr. Phil, Oprah, Ellen, etc) and documentaries (Discovery, Nat Geo, CNN, CNBC, etc) as opposed to drama series such as LOST or 24. Some of the shows on this tracker are actually not found on the top three TV trackers (TVT.com, BMTV, TVT.Ro).

TRM is not exactly a brand new tracker – the site’s got over 1600 members and currently tracks 1000+ torrents. These stats however doesn't do justice to TRM – it’s a decent TV tracker with some rare shows and deserves more publicity.

TRM seems to index both scene and non scene releases. TV Shows are mostly in avi but .mpg and .wmv formats are also allowed on the tracker. In addition to the TV episodes, this TRM also tracks some TV movies such as those exclusively aired on Hallmark. Video quality was great in all of the torrents I downloaded from the tracker. Word of advice.
Stay away from torrent packs that are over 1 GB. If you choose to download those, you are basically making that torrent your first and last one to download from here ever.
Why? You start off with a ratio of ONE (with no upload credit whatsoever), by the time you have completed a download of that torrent pack, your ratio would have fallen below 0.4, in which case, your only way out of this mess is to donate for gigs.
If you choose to do nothing, your account will be banned, and your IP range will be logged and banned.
It is THAT simple.

torrrentsRmine – TV show tracker signups open

Most of the time we bring you good news on the BitTorrent front such as the launch of new private trackers or about those with open signups. This time around the news we have is not so good. Docs.Torrents.Ro, one of the best E-Learning torrent trackers around with lots of content and a large following, has closed down – perhaps for ever. The reason for shut down according to site administrators was not legal pressure – no one was threatened with legal action nor were they raided.

So what really caused Docs to close down? As you might know this tracker never asked for donations from its members and nor was it ad supported - Docs was run purely as a hobby. The cause of shut down may be attributed to the site admin not having time or money to continue maintaining the tracker. Just before the site went down, it displayed the following message:

Dear members,
We are sorry to inform you that this tracker will close itself for an undetermined period of time starting from later today.
If you wanted to download something from this tracker, now is the time to do it without worrying about your ratio.

Docs.Torrents.Ro shuts down

Do you frequently use cracks or key generators to illegitimately activate or remove limitations of commercial software? If you do, the name ‘TSRh’ might ring a bell. TSRh or ‘The Sabotage Rebellion hackers’ is a release group in the warez scene which was founded back in 1999. By 2009 the group has cracked as many as 10800+ commercial software. Generally, scene groups like to keep their stuff secret and within the scene. This does not seem to be the case with TEAM TSRh – they maintain their own web site along with few FTP servers that contain thousands of their releases, all publicly accessible.

The official homepage of TSRh is located at http://tsrh.org.ua. This page is updated with any new releases pre’d by the group and it even has an RSS feed for new cracks/keygens. The page also hosts the TSRh release checker which is able to verify if a release is real or fake. Believe it or not, you can actually become a member of TSRh through their homepage. For this you’ll have to prove your skills by solving the ‘TSRh Trial KeygenMe’. The following is quoted from their members page:

What’s even more interesting is that they have got quite a few members who joined in 2009. With the help of these new recruits, TSRh seems to be invading the mobile scene as well as the MAC scene, in addition to their usual PC appz operations.

And now the part most of you will really be interested in – the FTP servers. TSRh have made a large portion of their crack and key generator releases available on several public FTP servers. Thousands of releases pre’d after the year 2003 are freely downloadable from these locations.

FTP servers with TSRh cracks and keygens

We’ve featured lots of dedicated games torrent trackers recently on FILEnetworks Blog including GameAccess (Open), SeedGames (Open) and JuicyBitz (Open). The tracker we are going to talk about it not just another BitTorrent site with games – it’s in fact the only one of its kind we’ve seen so far. GameUpdates is a private tracker for all game related extras – this includes update patches, mods, HD trailers, demos, betas and more. With this tracker around, there is no need to browse several dozen sites and wait in download queues to get mods and patches for your favorite PC games.

As you might already know patches, mods, demos and betas of modern games are quite large in file size. Due to bandwidth restrictions, most sites that allow free direct access to such files either limit the download speed or enforce the user to wait in queues. Some of these tend to get deleted pretty soon too. With technologies such as BitTorrent around, I’ve always wondered why people put up with this BS. GameUpdates - BitTorrent tracker to download PC game patches, mods, demos and trailers

Good news for both ATI and NVIDIA graphics card owners – new drivers are here. ATI have released much awaited Catalyst 9.4 (final) drivers and NVIDIA too have released ForceWare 185.68 drivers which are still in beta. Interestingly, ATI’s release consists of an official driver for current pre release builds of Windows 7. ForceWare 185.68 on the other hand is only officially availably for Windows Vista and XP. Both driver releases contain several improvements including various performance and reliability enhancements - upgrading is recommended.

Open Private Trackers for Scene 0-Day, Movies, Kids, Games and E-Books torrents

UPDATE: Scene group RELOADED have cracked the SecuROM DRM embedded into the game.
Original Article: Another good looking PC game has leaked on the internet. An untouched DVD Image (CloneDVD) of Company of Heroes : Tales of Valor has been released by veteran scene group AVENGED. This is the latest installment of Relic’s popular RTS series Company of Heroes which saw the light back in 2006. CoH : Tales of Valor is released as an standalone expansion and does not require the main game to run. The game was officially released to the public on the 9th of April and has been leaked on the same day.

COH : Tales of Valor is protected by Sony’s SecuROM DRM (with no online activation).  The protection seems to get bypassed when AVENGED image is used in conjunction with emulation software. However a valid CE Key or serial may be required to access some parts of the game such as online multiplayer. AVENGED release has now made its way into the public, including onto private torrent trackers:

AVENGED are not a group known for cracking anti piracy protections or DRM on PC games. Their specialty is clones, or untouched DVD images of original game. Even though a crack is not included with CloneDVDs, pirates are usually able to play the game by emulating the protection using tools such as Daemon Tools Pro (works with some copy protections only).

Pirates crack Company of Heroes : Tales of Valor, game leaks on BitTorrent

Update 3 : DarkC0der has cracked it. Read all about it in this article.

UPDATE 2: More info on DRM. It looks like this game is protected by TAGES + Internet Activation + Solidshield, a very new version of that too. GOW NFO does not specify this. A little worrying news for pirates because this protection is considered extremely hard to crack (several previous TAGES titles have been cracked, though. See second comment for this article by LST for specific cases).

UPDATE: [NUKED] not.cracked_activation.issues.still.occur. Also, there seems to be some kind of DRM present so we stand corrected.

Original Article: Actually the title of this post is a little misleading - there is no anti piracy protection embedded in this game to actually crack. But yes, the latest title in the famed Chronicles of Riddick series has been leaked on the internet, right on the game's official North American release date.

Surprisingly, Chronicles of Riddick : Assault on Dark Athena comes with no embedded DRM software which is a rare occurrence with PC games these days (EDIT: See UPDATE 1 and 2 below). The game's sole defence against piracy is the old school serial key protection, through which scene group GOW apparently got through pretty easily.

GOW's release which is around 7GB in file size includes a full DVD ISO of the game as well as a CD Key. Since there is no online activation or validation, a single serial will suffice for an unlimited number of pirates - however they will be royally screwed if they tried to use the multilayer component. Like all scene releases, GOW's release has now made its way into 'the wild'. It's now leaked to private trackers, public BitTorrent sites, public FTP dumps, one click hosting sites and pretty much anywhere else warez is hosted/tracked/linked. Anyways the contact E-mail address mentioned in GOW's NFO is interesting. It's the first time I've seen a scene group use a Gmail address.

Speaking of the game, I think this one is going to be a big hit in 2009 (the series's previous title (Escape from Butcher's Bay) too was a blast back when it was released. Developers seem to have done lots of thing right (including the decision to go DRM free) here so if you can buy it, go ahead and show some support.

Pirates crack Chronicles of Riddick : Assault on Dark Athena

Great news if you are a fan of Asian movies – AvistaZ is having open signups once again. AvistaZ is a private BitTorrent tracker specializing in movies, music and TV Shows from Asian countries such as Korea, Hong Kong, China, Japan, India and Thailand. Majority of the content uploaded to this tracker comprise of movies – Lots of action movies, martial arts and kung–fu flicks are freely downloadable from AvistaZ. If you are not from an Asian country and wondering about language barriers, have no fear. Most movies on AvistaZ come with English subtitles.

AvistaZ is by no means a small private tracker – there are well over 100000 members (113800+ to be exact, as of 8/4/2009) and over 7500 active torrents. One of the best things about this site is that it has an excellent community. It’s worth mentioning that video and sound quality of all movies I’ve so far downloaded from AvistaZ have been perfect. There are lots of DVDRips with 700MB and 1.4GB sizes which are pretty small and easy to download (as opposed to Asian DVD Club – a similar tracker which has untouched DVD-R movies (Signups Open)).

There used to be a time AvistaZ continuously had open signups. However public registrations had been closed for the past two or so months due to server limitations. Good news is that they’ve opened signups again. If you were thinking of getting into this site, now is your chance.

Follow up to the Cinematik Giveaway No. 04

If you are a member of the private games torrent tracker Blackcats-Games (BCG), here is some good news. A new set of referrals (BCG alternative to invites) have been issued by the site owner stoi. The referrals were issued on the 3rd of this month and I don’t know for sure if they were given to all user classes or just to a selected number of members. When I checked my profile on the site (Class ‘User’ (SPU before user class change), Badge of Honor), there were 3 referrals allocated to the account.

The following announcement is posted on the site regarding the new referral codes. If you are thinking of inviting new members, I suggest you read it, specially the parts in bold:

Blackcats Games (BCG) – New referral codes given (7/4/2009)

Popular private BitTorrent tracker CZONE has undergone a lot of changes in the past few days. The site now has a new name (CZTeam) and can be accessible via the new URL http://torrents.czteam.ro. As you may already know, CZONE tracker was owned by an actual Romanian ISP named CZONE. CZONE was recently bought by RDS (Romania Data Systems) and the new management did not like the idea of operating a BitTorrent tracker. This prompted CZONE tracker admins to move their server to a different location, re-brand and re-launch the BitTorrent tracker without letting it die.

Quoted below is a noticed sent to use by the CZTeam tracker admin which contains some useful information for existing members:

First we want to thank you on behalf of Team C-ZONE for the fact that you have been great from the start! Years and years you were with us, we laughed together at the best and we put away the bad nerves when we had problems. The fact that you were with us was our main goal, and for you we tried to make this tracker as close to your preferences as we can. Cinematik tracker invites giveaway - 50 free invite codes

This post will hopefully be useful to those who download untouched DVD-R movies, TV shows and documentaries released by groups from the warez scene. As we have mentioned before, all scene releases should conform to a pre specified set of rules if they are not to be nuked (trashed). However you might have already figured out that even sceners do not pre perfect releases - you may have come across DVD-R’s that have out of sync audio, missing menus, missing or out of sync subtitles and various other issues. Speaking of these so called 'fixes', there are many types of them out there - Syncfix, Subfix, PROPER, PPFFix, Fix, MiscFix. MenuFix, Audiofix, Navfix, Patch, Labelfix, and a whole lot of others. The names may look weird to the average user but these are scene terminology derived as per scene naming rules.

So far I’ve downloaded quite a few files from this site and haven’t found any nasties (trojans, malware, etc) in any of them. As for instructions on how to use these fixes, they can usually be found in the accompanying NFO file.

Download SUBFiX, SYNCFiX, MENUFiX & other patches/fixes for scene DVD-R releases

About three weeks ago we posted about a private tracker that offered downloads to street racing, drag racing, rally, off road, Nascar, MotoGP and all sorts of other motorsports torrents – The Monkey Kingdom (TMK). However, much to the disappointment of its users, TMK was down in the past few days. There is no reason to worry as the site is now fully back up – they’ve changed the name to Formula Monkey and have moved to a new domain.

The downtime or the URL change has not caused any data loss at the Formula Monkey. They still track over 4300+ active torrents and has a user base of over 3600 members. If you registered on this tracker back when it was open, you can use the same user account to log in even at the new domain. Formula Monkey – The Monkey Kingdom Returns (Motorsports Torrent Tracker)

When it comes to private BitTorrent sites there are only a few magic trackers such as Art of Misdirection (AoM), MagicianTorrents and AOMKiller. Our of these sites AoM almost never opens signups (once it did, due to a bug) and both MagicianTorrents and AOMKiller had been offline for quite some time. If you are interested in magic, juggling, clowning and ballooning torrents here is some good news – AOMKiller has returned from the prolonged period of downtime and is now open for public registrations.

AOMKiller is no longer accessible via the previous URL(www.aomk1.com) – the site has moved to http://www.neomagician.net. If memory serves correct this is the 3rd time AOMK has switched addresses. Anyways the URL change does not seem to have had any impact on the torrent index or the user database. As of 5/4/2009, AOMK tracks over 6000 magic torrents and has a registered user base in excess of 850 members.

AOMK has all sorts of magic, clowning and ballooning torrents (see categories below) but majority of these will not be available to new users. This tracker has a ‘required class’ system where torrents become unlocked as you get promoted to new users classes. You can see which user class is needed to download from a certain category from this page. Currently there aren't many torrents that new users can download but since the registrations were opened a day ago, expect more torrents to be added to this category soon.

Site is currently open for public registrations and we do not know for sure how long the open signups will continue. If you have any interes in the fields of magic, clowning, juggling or ballooning, go ahead and sign up.

VLC Media Player 0.9.9 Direct Download (Windows/Mac/Linux)

By now all of you probably know about the dedicated movie torrent tracker Tehconnection (TC) – this site has been featured on FILEnetworks Blog a countless times. TC sure did take their time to migrate to Gazelle but the launch of Tehconnection V2 seems to have really kicked things off in grand style. During the month of March 2009, TC managed to double the size of their torrent index. This would not have been newsworthy if they only added a few hundred torrents, which was not the case. Instead, TC managed to add close to 3000 new movie torrents in the past 30 days – that’s and average of 100 new movies added per day!

3000 new torrents in a month is a great feat for any private tracker – it’s an even better feat when all of the new items added are high quality movies. Both new films as well as rare classics (some dating back to 1960s and 1970s) were added during this time. As of 4/4/2009, Tehconnection tracks 6100+ torrents ( 4800+ movies, some in both high definition and standard definition formats) and has a user base of 8000+ members.

Tehconnection adds 3000 movie torrents in one month

About a month ago we reported about a new specialized HD torrent tracker titled Awesome-HD. This was a private torrent tracker launched by p2p encoder EuReKa – Awesome HD looked very promising and the member count quickly shot up past 3000 in just a few days after launch. However there were lots of problems with the site - members who logged out were not being able to log back in (Error 500) and lots of others were getting internal server error messages when trying to load the homepage. Good news is that Awesome-HD has re-launched and the annoying errors seem to be fixed.

It looks as if the site was rebuilt from scratch – the torrent and user databases have been reset. Currently  Awesome HD has around 2000 registered members and tracks ~20 HD torrents. Expect these stats to improve in the coming days as it’s only been 1-2 days since the site came back online.  A bunch of other changes too have been brought about by the re-launch:

• Free leech is not currently enabled. As a compensation, minimum global ratio requirement has been lowered from 0.7 to 0.3
• Scene releases now seem to be allowed on the tracker (Awesome HD started out as a non-scene/p2p releases-only tracker)
• Inactive accounts will now be pruned after 14 days. To quote tracker admins - “We want an active community with real members.”
• Bookmark and YoutTube functionality has been added

Since the user database is reset, everyone will need to re-register on the tracker. Good news is that Awesome-HD is currently open for public registrations (it will stay open only for another 24 more hours and then become invite only).

Awesome-HD tracker back online - Errors fixed, signups open

I hope you can still remember Textbook Torrents – a private torrent tracker that specialized in educational text books. Unfortunately, Textbook torrents had to shut down in 2008 due to the owner receiving legal threats from authorities. Although there have been many other excellent E-book and E-learning torrent trackers around (Elbitz, eBookVortex (Open), Learnbits, Zinebytes, Docs.Torrents.Ro, etc), none of these were true replacements for Textbook torrents. If you are one of those souls who still miss Textbook torrents, here is some good news – try PureTorrents.

PureTorrents is a new private torrent tracker that specializes in academic books. A good description of the site is posted on the homepage - parts of it is quoted below:

First of all, this is a book-only tracker with a largely academic emphasis.  Our aim is to keep junk out and provide books that are high quality in terms of their content and readability (preferably both).  You may have noticed that all of our torrents have a very specific naming scheme.  We use custom software to standardize the filenames of books that are released here.  If it is your intention to become a content supplier (uploader) at some point, you will have to apply the same standards to your work.

A quick note about ratios...  While we don't encourage "hit and runs", this tracker is primarily about making knowledge available, not having the best ratio being an exclusive site.  So please seed if you can, after all, most people do.

Although the site is very new, it definitely looks promising. It currently track close to 1200 torrents out of which 140+ were added today. Puretorrents currently has around 175 members – expect these numbers to rise as the site gains more popularity.

As for the content, there are lots of academic E-Books related to a wide range of subjects on this tracker. Torrents are not organized into specific categories (only two categories are available in browse torrents page - scene releases and user uploads). Instead, PureTorrents seems to use a tagging feature – check the ‘browse tags’ page to search for books by subject.

As of 3/4/2009, PureTorrents is open for public registrations. The site is well worth checking out if you are looking to download academic E-books/text books/study guides, etc.

PureTorrents – Download text book torrents and academic eBooks

Electronic Art’s latest PC title has been cracked and leaked on the internet 4 days before the game’s official release. The Godfather 2 is the sequel to 2006’s video game Godfather : The Game and is scheduled to be released in North America on the 10th of April. Like many EA published games, TGF 2 is protected by SecuROM DRM. As usual, scene group RELOADED have cracked the protection and released a working copy on scene topsites which has now leaked to publicly accessible means such as BitTorrent trackers and so on.

RELOADED’s release consists of a full DVD ISO of the game (which is 6.36GB in size), a cracked executable as well as the usual NFO file. By combining the ISO image with cracked exe, pirates and legitimate users alike are seemingly able to play the game, bypassing the DRM software.
UPDATE: Some users have reported freezes or hangs at character setup screen.

Anyways as mentioned in the article above, RELOADED’s release has leaked all over the internet, including on private torrent trackers:

Currently there aren’t many reviews of this game around – it has a decent average score of 70% on Gamerankings but this is just based on two reviews. Anyways this game looks like it’s better than the first one – hope it lives up to the hype.

Pirates crack The Godfather 2 DRM before official release

Everyday we get E-mails from users asking for invites to high level HD trackers such as HDbits.org and Bit-HDTV. Our usual reply to such emails is that rather than fruitlessly trying to get into closed sites, try joining some of the underrated HD trackers that are relatively easy to get into. This post is about one such heavily underrated private tracker that specializes in HD content – High Definition Torrents (or HD-Torrents). Blu Ray movies, HDTV Shows, premium documentaries in HD and loads of other high def stuff can be freely downloaded from this tracker.

HD Torrents is not a new tracker –  in fact the site’s celebrating its first birthday this April (this is our second article about HDT with first one published back in November 2008). For a one year old specialized tracker, HD-Torrents has excellent stats. The site currently tracks close to 3500 torrents and has a user base of around 15000 members. Speaking of the content on this site, it’s all about HD. From scene releases to use encodes HDT tracks a lot of HD movies, TV series, documentaries, adult content and more. Quite a few torrent packs are available for leeching as well.

One of the great things I noticed about HD-Torrents is that it’s not a ghost town – most of the torrents are very well seeded (new, popular releases usually have well over 100 seeders). AFAIK this site does not impose any minimum monthly download requirement like many other HD trackers. Even the minimum global ratio you need to maintain is as low as 0.5 (used to be 0.3, was recently increased). A seed bonus system is preset which should also help you maintain a healthy global ratio.

HD Torrents – Excellent private tracker for HD movies and TV shows

Hello everyone,

After being down for about 12 hours, we are now back online. The downtime was caused due to Blogger’s automatic bots mistakenly identifying the blog as spam. Thanks to the excellent support provided by the Blogger team, we were able to resolve this issue in less than a day.

Thanks to the large number of people who offered support via E-Mail during the downtime. We never thought this blog was that popular and people would actually miss it going down for a few hours. We are happy to be back – normal postings will continue in a about 12 hours.

FILEnetworks Blog is Back!

We have reported about a number of private torrent trackers based in Romania but those guys seem to have an endless supply of new trackers. Having said that, RDS Zone is not exactly a brand new BitTorrent tracker – it has been around for several months but we somehow managed to miss it in our open signup updates. RDS Zone is a general tracker which has movies, music, games, zero day releases and other content. Although the tracker is based in Romania, 90% of the tracked content is English releases.

One of the first things you’ll notice after logging into RDS-Zone will be the flashy user interface - like most Romanian trackers this site too has a cool layout. As said before RDS Zone is around 6-7 months old. The site currently has close to 7500 members and tracks 2300+ torrents.

In addition to usual scene and p2p releases, torrents exclusive to this tracker too can be found. These torrents are usually denoted by ‘rDs’ tag on title.  We found an impressive number of over 100 exclusive torrents and packs on RDS Zone – some of these however were not well seeded.

RDS Zone is another private tracker which has the ‘Crazy Hour’ feature ; the site is placed in global free leech and a 3X upload multiplier is applied to all torrents during a randomly selected hour every day. A seed bonus system is also present on this tracker.
