Pretorians is an extremely popular Hungarian private torrent tracker for General/0Day releases. Although the site is of Hungarian origin, there are plenty of English releases available for download as well – this includes both scene releases as well as releases by p2p oriented groups. Pretorians is usually closed for public signup and requires users to be invited by existing members. The site however has now opened it’s doors to the public – if you are thinking of creating an account, now would be a good time.

Pretorians is one of the larger private trackers out there. The site has over 41000 registered users and currently tracks close to 9500 active torrents. There are both Hungarian and English releases available. If you are looking for English releases, look inside eBook/Eng, Film/DVD-R/Eng, Film/HD/Eng, Film/XViD/Eng, Mp3/Eng, Program/iSO, Program/RiP categories.

Note that the site interface including the signup page is in Hungarian language and there is no option to change it to English. Use the breif translation provided below to get through if you don’t know Hungarian.

Site Name: PREtorians (http://www.pretorians.net)

Signup URL: http://www.pretorians.net/signup.php

A brief translation of signup page:

  • Kivánt felhasználónév: - Username
  • Jelszó: - Password
  • Jelszó megerősítése: - Retype Password
  • Email cím – Email
  • Nemed - Gender
  • Last three checkboxes stand for 'Read FAQ?', 'Read Rules?', and 'Above 13 years of age?'.

And in the interface, ‘Letoltes’ means Download – this opens up the browse.php page with torrent index.

Thanks to whosez for the heads up.

fyc, i have been trying getting into hungarian sites (family reasons) for quite a long time now, but especially the good ones (bithumen, pretorians) are very hard to get in, almost only by invites, and to get invitations even as a member you have to be a very generous seeder, and are responsible for the invited friend - i.e. if he cheats, you both fly... :)

    petra,
Here is another Hungarian site you can try:
    http://carpathians.hu/signup.php

AFAIK it's run by a breakaway faction of staff from Pretorians (not sure about this).
