Update: This was originally posted 6 days ago but open signups didn't last for long back then. Since Hd-Bits is open again, we are reviving this post.

One of the best private HD trackers currently in existence, HD-Bits.Ro, has been opening its doors to the public at regular intervals in the past couple of days. There is however no guarantee on the tracker being open for a long period of time – there is no official notice of an open signup mentioned on the homepage. However at the time this post is being written, registrations are open to the public. They seem to be deleting inactive members frequently which frees up slots within the user limit of 18000 members.

With over 17500 active members and over 3700 HD torrents, HD-Bits.ro is easily one of the best and largest HD trackers currently online. Download speeds on this tracker are superb – you are likely to max out your high bandwidth internet connection when downloading torrents. Pre times are also pretty decent around here.

As for the content on this tracker, HD-Bits.Ro indexes HD movies, HDTV series, HD Documentaries, adult content and even some lossless music and HD music videos. Scene releases as well as a lot of p2p and home user encodes are available for download. Content on Hd-Bits.Ro includes lots of torrent packs (collections). The screenshot below captures some of the many HD packs available on this tracker:

Before jumping on the bandwagon and creating an account on HD-Bits.Ro – there is something you should know. This tracker imposes monthly minimum traffic requirements. That is “Accounts with a cumulate traffic (download and upload) less than 10GB/month will be disabled after a 1-week warning.” (More information about this rule can be found in our article located here). So if you are not planning to use this site for heavy downloading, don’t bother creating an account.

As mentioned above signups are currently open. If you get user limit reached error messages, keep trying. It’s been occasionally opening and closing for the past few days and eventually you should get in.

I dont mean to sound ungrateful but I dont agree that this site is one of the best for HD content - the site hardly has any 1080p content, and alot of RO subbed content. Additionally they have instituted some traffic rules that are likely to see you banned unless you have a seedbox. I get more HD content from Demoniod, CZteam, and several other non HD sites. If you want a good HD dedicated site thats frequently open try to get in HD-Torrents.org and use this tool see when sites are open:http://www.opentrackers.net/

Agree with you on HD-Torrents. That's a very underrated tracker as we mentioned in one of our previous articles. HD-Bits.ro is not bad either when compared to other HD trackers. Bandwidth rules are in fact placed by most HD sites.

By the way they have new hit and run rule as well:
"Due to massive H&R we are forced to change the rules. Please read the new rules here: http://www.hd-bits.ro/rules.php#hit_run"

Read them if you don't want to be disabled.

Although I agree with you that there is a slight shortage of 1080p content, I wouldn't say the traffic rules are any bit excessive. I have a mediocre 60 KB/s upload connection and I can maintain a 3.00+ ratio. There are many other private trackers with much more stringent rules and enforcement.

BTW, HD-Bits.ro is open again for anyone interested.

Is website down for 2 days now?

  10. hoho // 5/01/2009 05:29:00 PM

Yes, it's down for me too. Tracker timeout when seeding.

  11. donnie // 5/01/2009 11:12:00 PM

yea it's been down the last couple days. Checked with 'isthatsitedown.com' and 'downforeveryoneorjustme.com' to make sure it wasn't just me.

Yep, down here as well. Looks like the hacker(s?) have been hard at work DDOS-ing the site again... Either that, or the random maintenance/changes that they feel the users don't need to know about and are left hanging.
