Sites to download comics in CBR, CBZ formats (BitTorrent trackers and direct links)

Several days ago we posted an article about Z-Cult FM, a discussion form and BitTorrent tracker for Comics. Since then several readers have E-mailed us requesting information on more sites for online comics downloads. Here is a list of private & public torrent trackers, forums and blogs from which you can download thousands of comic books. Content in these sites range from newest comic books, comic magazines to even old comics from the 1950s and 60s.

Description: AvaxHome is not a specialized comics site. It’s a release blog which provides one click hosting links to movies, music, magazines, etc. Their comics section is content rich and is home to many rare releases. Click the ‘Details’ link located at the bottom left corner of each post to reveal download links.

Description: Komics Live is a private forum for Comics related discussions. Register in their forum, log in and check the ‘E-Mag’ thread in’ Komik Media’ section to download comics related magazines in .cbr format.

Site Name: ComicSearch (http://www.comicsearch.co.uk)
Description: ComicSearch homepage may suggest that it’s a site without any useful content. But this is not true. Register on their forums and log in to unlock the ‘members only’ threads. Check the ‘All Releases’ category for comic torrents (this site has a weird layout and some of the torrent files return not found errors).

Golden Age Comics

Description: Golden Age Comics is a site that hosts hundreds of comics from the 1940-1970 era. All comics in this site are free of copyright (copyright period expired). As opposed to sites mentioned above, Golden Age Comics offers direct download links to hosted files.

Description: Comic Kingdom is a discussion forum that offers download links to latest comic releases. Check the ‘Downloads’ section to the bottom of the page for newest releases. Register on the forum and make at least 5 forum posts to unlock Comic Kingdom archives section which includes hundreds of old comics, graphic novels and manga. Downloads are hosted in sites such as RapidShare. - Thanks to Ertis/Richard or the info.

Public and Private BitTorrent Trackers

Description: H33T is a hugely popular semi private BitTorrent tracker. H33T’s comics section indexes close to 2500 comic book torrents, some of which are packs. Site Name: Demonoid (www.demonoid.com)
Description: Demonoid is another semi private torrent tracker which tracks one of the largest comics collection currently online. Over 6000 torrents can be found in Demonoid’s comics section alone. This site is usually closed to new registrations but it does open up several times a month. You can watch our private trackers section to stay up to date about Demonoid status or you can wait for our next invitation giveaway.

Description: We know very little of this site. ComicPirates do operate a BitTorrent tracker and they track a lot of comics releases including Marvel/DC publications. Best place to find ComicPirates .torrent files is on the the Z-Cult FM site (see how).

Description: Z-Cult FM is a specialized comics torrent tracker as well as a discussion form. For a step by step guide on how to download comics from Z-Cult, refer to this article.

Comics Release Blogs

BDComics
BDcomics  
Site Name: BDComics (http://bdcomics.bdgamers.net/)
Description: BDComics used to be a frequently updated blog with latest comics releases. The site has seemingly stopped updating since August, 2008. There are however lots of releases online which were posted prior to this. Files are hosted in services such as RapidShare, etc.

Other blogger hosted comics blogs

Most of the comics you download from these sites is likely to be inCBR, CBZ, CB7, CBT and CBA file formats. Refer to this article to find out which software you can use to open these file types.

Note that the above is not a complete list of comics download sites on the internet. If you know other good sites not mentioned here, feel free to share them in the comments section.

    http://tehparadox.com/forum/f68/ is a great forum place for new and old Image, DC, Dark Horse and independent titles. No Marvels allowed but that's NOT really a problem cuz you can always find them some place else, if you know what I'm sayin', hehe. Each company gets its own board and the links are Rapidshare, mediafire and so on. Needs registration.

    Another GREAT blog is http://comicsworld.wordpress.com. The guy collects links to comics hosted mainly on Rapidshare. One look at his immensely long list of titles will make your head spin!
    His list features classic and new titles from Marvel, DC, Dark Horse and golden oldies from 60s 70s and so on.
    You can always add to his collection by posting your own links to stuff!

    Also you can visit http://kaskus.us/ the comic section at forum > western comic or http://www.kaskus.us/forumdisplay.php?f=122. You don't need to be member for this section, you can download as you want. But no Marvel.
