By now you probably have heard about private torrent trackers such as ‘The Vault’ (How to get in), ‘The Place’ & ‘The Box’. All these are specialized private trackers which contain some of the rarest torrents around. ‘The Occult’ the the newest project launched by the same folks behind aforementioned sites. Just like their previous projects, TheOccult already tracks a very rare collection of torrents, most of them not found elsewhere.
The Occult has some of the most unusual & uncommon torrent categories I’ve ever seen on a private tracker (Mythology, Scientology, Drugs, Shamanism, Astrology to name a few). As the name suggests, it specializes in torrents related to various cults, ways of living, religions, healing and so on. To get a better idea of the content on this tracker, refer to the categories section towards the end of this article. Media on TheOccult include PDF E-Books, DVDs, MP3 audio, etc.
The Occult, after being in beta for about 1.5 months, seems to be fully operational by now. Currently there are close to 800 registered users and around 350 torrents on this tracker. The site is also open for signup. There is a maximum user limit of 6000 so it can be expected that the open signups will continue for some time.

I think the site is terribly managed. They severely limit 1st users to a small amount of downloads, and if you exceed that limit they ban you permanently. Pretty much a joke if you ask me. I mean how can the user community grow if you let everyone download but don't allow anyone to upload files. Then you ban people right after they exceed their download limit. I think they are just trying to rip off everyone's files and keep the site to themselves. It is interesting that they knock you off the site so easily.
My best reccomendation is get as many files as you can as quickly as you because the moderators will toss you off the site anyways.

Nicolas, I totally agree with you! I didn't realize I had a limit and got disabled. I got almost 17GBs before being banned including files I had been looking for (prior attempts came out incomplete). I think their ratio limiting is BS. They have so much interesting information and are so selective about who sees it. And if you or someone in your household tries to make another account, they can permanently ban you from their site. Total BS. Information should be shared not hidden. I can't even get into the site anymore. They do allow you to sign up tho, maikogeisha.

I am looking for an invite. I have 4 terabytes of storage and leave my bandwidth wide open for all things worthy of it. My father is a ceremonial magician and I grew up reading his library. I will scan from my library what is not already available.
Signups are open. I was lucky enough to give it a try just now and I'm in! (no invites until Power User, though). It looks really good. Forget about the silly posts above about "limited download". The site has very reasonable ratio requirements.

Private torrent networks have different rules than public. You are encouraged up upload as much as you download - the ratio is being counted.
This is a very good thing for the life of a torrent.
Sure, on public networks I grab and run. Lotta people do. On this network, I happily share all my downloads. I`m seeding 26 things right now. The files are rare and the community a good one, it`s worth all the time and bandwidth.

J, for one, it IS poorly managed. One being that if they have it closed to the majority of the community and have it as an 'invite only' kind of thing, it reminds me of these 'Plagans' running about screaming "Avada Kervada!" Really... If people are looking for most of their torrent archive look up Digimob on thepiratebay.org. You'd have better chances on getting what you want there rather than a site ran by social recluses. The files aren't rare J, you just have to know what to search for on Google.

I was a poweruser on Oink.cd (for two years, back when the site was still oink.me.uk) when it was up (wiki it). If you only knew the contents of that website, and how there was no comparison to public sites (NONE), you`d know the value of private torrent networks...
The site had practically EVERY album available, in practically EVERY bitrate...192kb-LOSSLESS. With plenty of seeders, always. I`m sorry, but this does not exist in the public realm.
And yes, the files are rare, and a lot of them not available on piratebay or `google`.

I totally agree with J. Ive been a member in theoccult.bz for more than a year now, and i havent had any problems. As long as you keep your ratio, meaning, if you upload and seed as much as download then you will keep your membership.
Currently, I have already uploaded as much as 27Gig and downloaded upto 30Gig. There are more than 20,000 users currently, who are continuously uploading files to keep their ratio. So, just imagine all the files that are being uploaded!!!!!! Most are definitely rare, scanned and ripped by the users themselves. Also keep in mind that you cannot upload what is already existing there. Meaning, all of the common free occult files/torrent such as the ones that are already uploaded in known occult sites have already been uploaded here, years AGO!!!!
Beginners, usually(like what happened to me) are disappointed to discover that all occult materials theyve collected for years are already there!!!Sorry!!!! You really need to have extraordinary materials to upload so you can survive here!!!!
All torrents are very healthy(as uploaders keep seeding to keep their ratio)...
By this strict give and take relationship in the site, the torrents are healthily maintained and files keep growing everyday!!!!

There are many interesting and rare files on The Occult site. However, there are some difficulties for users to join and keep membership.
Members are unlikely to give out invites unless they know you personally.
If an Occult user gives you an invite and you behave badly, the user maybe BANNED along with you. The Occult site has MANY RESTRICTIVE RULES and it is EXTREMELY DIFFICULT to establish a GOOD RATIO, so you can download stuff.
When I joined I found about 98% of the files I personally created and had shared elsewhere were already on the site, so I struggled to find something new to upload there. The moderators have learned their skills from someone like Hitler, so there is no point in arguing your personal point of view. BE WARNED.
I maintain my ratio only by leaving my computer seeding nearly 24/7. That means seeding up to 150 plus files in hopes some will actually be used to seed by The Occult system. It took about a month to get my ratio up to a minimum safe standard.
The Occult uses a strange method of choosing seeders. The fastest uploaders get preference over ALL others, including the uploader. This means some users have huge ratios of 4.xx while most struggle under 1.xx. Many who upload there are banned or their account disabled, so unless others seed their files, they are unavailable. Same problem as elsewhere.
I suggest you join Demonoid, where there is more variety and a lot more freedom. In Demonoid, a good ratio is much easier to get and maintain.
