We saw several NVIDIA display driver updates in the past month and ATI have finally broken their silence with the release of Catalyst 9.1. One of the highlights of this driver release is the support for OpenGL 3.0 extensions. Catalyst 9.1 for Windows XP, Windows Vista (both 32-bit and 64-bit versions) and Windows Media Center Edition are now available for download. One of the drawbacks is that there is still no official Windows 7 (WDDM 1.1) compatible driver release yet.
I could not test these drivers since I do not own a ATI video card. You can read user experiences with Catalyst 9.1 drivers on this Guru3d thread and also on this game.amd.com thread. Full Catalyst 9.1 change log as well as release notes can be found here.

Install the drivers and keep your video cards fine tuned- there are several great looking PC games due to be released in February 2009.
