A DVD image (aka a CloneDVD) of highly anticipated Far Cry 2 has leaked to several private Bittorent trackers 3 days before the game’s official release date. It appears to be an English only DVD image (not Multilanguage) of Far Cry 2 which weighs around 3.7GB. There is no crack (modified executable) associated with this release that removes the copy protection built into the game; leaked version looks like an untouched DVD Image of the original game.
Far Cry 2 comes bundled with controversial SecuROM DRM and the game needs to be activated online in order to play. This means those who download this image cannot play the single player campaign (unless you have a legitimate copy of the game which is unlikely as the game is not released yet) but they can however play with the map editor. Pirates who download this version will have to wait till a scene group or an individual such as DarkC0der provides a fixed exe with SecuROM protection stripped (as they have done many times before) in order to play the single player campaign.

The following is a comment from DarkC0der:
"
Just to inform you all.
Game uses no paul.dll and the whole system seems to be completely different.
At the moment i'm kinda confused about it.
Creates temporary files like "matroschka_launcher.exe","FarCry2_activation.exe"(aka "SecuROM Matroschka Unpacker"),"TGT7C.tmp","Alf.dll"(original name: "DFADecoderDlg.dll"),"DFA.dll".
"DFADecoderDlg.dll"(alias "Alf.dll") seems to be the key.
Looks like it is there to uncrypt the 1 tmp file, because start of that file begins with "SDFA".
Sadly i'm not quite shure how it decodes that temporary file
Sadly the release-date-check seems to be loaded even before FC2.dll(paul.dll) gets loaded.
Guess i won't be able to crack it that fast.
There is some talk going around in several forums claiming that the leaked version contains just 4 missions or something like that. These are mostly based on the fact that 3.7GB is too small for a game in 2008. Well, i dont think so look at this comment from a guy who actually purchased the game:
" believe it or not the install size is only a mere 3.16 GB. Enemy AI are fairly smart, they can spot you from a good distance, snipers in shrubs up mountains are fairly accurate. they use cover when they need to...i remember setting fire to a small patch of grass near an outpost. 2 minutes later a small group of enemies decided to investigate, while i was hiding on a cliff edge with a rocket launcher waiting for them to arrive. when they came i shot a rocket at them, they saw it coming and tried to leap out of their jeep before it hit. enemies interactions are random, so they dont always do the same thing everytime "

Darkcoder has released some kind of a pre release crack:
Darkcoder:
"Sadly you still need a valid cd.(or a very good image and very good disc-emulation tools)"
It still does not work but one step closer to a working fix.
