Out of all the private torrent trackers online today, CN remains to be one of the most secretive. However, It's strict rules against publicity have not been able to prevent news from spreading across the BitTorrent universe – most people now know of it’s existence and the tracker is known as one of the best movie trackers one could get into. Thankfully, CN’s administration have responded to the growing popularity is a positive manner. Although the site hasn’t directly opened signups, numerous other modes of recruitment have been presented which can be used to get invited into CN for free, without getting involved with malpractices such as invite trading or scamming. If you missed out on CN IRC recruitment or E-mail invite requests earlier, here’s another option you can try – they now have online invite applications through which potential new members can apply and join to the tracker.

CN

Quoted below is a message posted on site homepage:

We have implemented a new external invite application system for non-members. Now you can tell your friends to come and apply for an invite.
You can deliver this message:

"The link for the application is (you can find it at the external page too) :
https://www.cosanostra.mn/applyforinvite.php
You are expected to answer all these questions clearly and honestly if you really want to join CN.
For all liars, traders and cheaters: Don't apply, you will be banned sooner or later and you will be just wasting your time."

:: A3M

Before you flip out about us posting the full tracker URL, it was mentioned here with permission from CN staff. This post would not have made much sense without it and we are grateful that CN staff were of the same opinion.

Anyways we won’t be posting detailed tracker information or screenshots of CN unlike in our usual tracker reviews. Just know that with over 15000 movie torrents, one of the best unique tracker scripts and tons of site features, this is a  tracker well worth getting into. If you need more background information, we suggest you read the site overview found below ( this was sent to us by CN staff team sometime back, during their E-mail giveaway):

On the surface CN is a dedicated movies tracker, but peel back the layers and you will notice that it is so much more. Our focus is on all types movies, regardless of language, genre or format.

CN is a tracker that prides itself on striving to be different as well as being quality conscious. It is a community that values social cohesion and interaction with each other. A place where we want hardcore movie lovers and the more casual movie watchers come together to discuss and share their opinions and recommendations on their favorite films.

It is a place that puts file sharing above all; meaning we absolutely encourage seeding and leeching as opposed to buffering and ratio whoring. People with seedboxes and fast connections are always welcome to help boost overall speed, but those who do not have either, need not be intimidated. A fast connection is certainly not a requirement to "survive" at CN.

While CN does maintain a somewhat strict inactivity policy, we feel it is only fair and reasonable, as CN is a place where every member should play their part and contribute to the community and tracker. If you have no intentions of doing so, then simply put, CN is not for you. Most of the disabled users you see on the site statistics are due to inactivity.

Together with a unique and comprehensive promotion system which requires all-rounded site activity to advance and a simple but brilliant seeding and bonus system that doesn’t exist elsewhere, maintaining a ratio is not a problem for even the user with the slowest connection.

In a nutshell, if you are looking for an extremely tight-knit community, unique tracker features found nowhere else, enjoy and love movies, are willing to play a role in achieving something bigger than yourself, CN is the place for you.

We’ve said this before and we’ll say it again – you have to become a member of this site to really see it’s potential. It has a lot of small yet useful features which all cannot be covered in a simple review such as this. For example, their promotions system is pretty unique and it’d take us ages to fully explain it in detail. So, as said above we’ll leave you to discover the site features – prepare to be awed the first time you log in :p

CN doesn't have many members but the ~1400 of them that are registered there are pretty active. Invite applications should bring in fresh new blood in and further boost the activity of this tracker. If you are looking for a decent movie tracker, try your luck with the invite apps.

Was a member there. I guess my account got disabled from not using it. I don't get what the big deal is about the site. Hardly any leechers so it's next to impossible to seed up to ratio. They have a good movie selection, but nothing I couldn't find anywhere else, that's why I just let the account go. And the doucheyness factor of the whole gangster theme to the site is kinda laughable. But whatever, to each his own.

Cory Wilson, based on your comments it is clear you have either never used the site or it has been a long time since you were on. Worries about ratio shouldn't prevent anyone interested from applying. Say what you will about the theme, but it only serves to make things more fun for members of this already fantastic tracker.

    @jkrac
It's clear I've never used the site, but I know about the lack of peers and about the douchey mafia theme? And I would say "fantastic tracker" is a little bit of an exaggeration. Yeah it's got good speeds, but so does every other private tracker. But the clandestine "dare not speak it's name" attitude..idk it's just not worthy of that kind of treatment. It's like "The Devil" or what ever he calls himself actually thinks he's Don Vito Corleone or something. It's just douchey and unimpressive.

Personally i like this tracker very much. Got in a few months ago and has become one of my resident trackers.
Good collection of movies and pretty good community esp. on IRC.

    cory:
you take the site's theme way too seriously dude.

  6. ZomB // 3/10/2010 08:32:00 AM

Personally, I like the community better than the torrents.

    content is replaceable.
    community is not!

i applied, nothing yet. Has anyone gotten an answer yet ?

  8. psyph3r // 3/10/2010 10:35:00 AM

getting disabled on this site was the best thing that happened to me this year.
Site sucks balls, irc is dead , etc
    Tehconnection is way better :P

i applied, hopefully ill hear from them soon. I need more movie sources to help out my site (www.seed-bytes.com)

Im hoping the site isnt as others have posted because i am looking to abuse my seedbox (http://pulsedmedia.com/clients/aff.php?aff=006)

cory: had you spent even five minutes getting to know the site you would have learned that uploading stats is a very small part of your activity on the tracker, and not a deciding factor on being considered active. And if you spent even five seconds talking with TheDevil you would know he is the nicest damned site op on the internet. It would seem that you are the douche here.

  11. Unknown // 3/10/2010 12:50:00 PM

Nobody ever got disabled for ratio on CN, the system is made and optimised for everybody to leech whatever he/she wants without having to fear about their ratio.

The whole "roleplaying" aspect of the site (incl. promotions) you can take as serious as you like or just ignore, up to every member. I like it though.

The staff are all nice people who are always open for ideas and try to help members who are in need of it.

Staff only really gets mad when their trust is broken by trading, selling, cheating or any kind of unwanted publicity. In those cases they will ban you for the sake of the security of the site and all their members. Rightly so.

All in all it's a great site if you are into movies and making some online friends, it's a well organised tracker with awesome design and an innovative system.

Also: After applying please be patient! I think it could take up to a week until the applicants data is confirmed to be honest and truthfull.

    Cheers, git ;)

I personally didn`t like this tracker at all. So I let my account die and never missed it.
This tracker is over rated cause it`s so secret. But there is nothing special about it, except the crazy ratio rules and other strange rules.

  13. hlooom // 3/10/2010 01:32:00 PM

Aside from BTN, CN is the most overhyped tracker of the year (and yes, I became a member a while ago when they were posting promotion threads on various private tracker forums, and my account too eventually died from inactivity).

First of all, the primary reason I join a tracker is for the torrent content. If I want community, I would join a film forum (where I don't have to fill out a lengthy interview), not a tracker. So speaking of content: CN is a general movie tracker. They have mainstream titles as well as more obscure titles; but everything on there I could find on other trackers. The mainstream films, are of course, all over any public and private trackers. Their non-mainstream titles you can find on niche film sites like KG, CG, SC, THC, Goem, Tik, ILC and so on.

It stands to reason that the tracker staff and fanboys stress the community aspect, because content-wise the tracker is unimpressive and wholly undeserving of the hype it's been receiving.

The bottom line for me was that I could not find any films on this tracker that I could not find elsewhere, and so I let my account die as it was useless to me and I couldn't care less about the lively community or the mafia game play if the site doesn't deliver any actual original content.

So if you're reading this and considering whether or not to waste time going through with the lengthy interview questions, don't bother as you can find both the content and the film discussion forums elsewhere.

    Just my two cents.

    @hlooom

You say "everything on there I could find on other trackers":

    So?

There are still people who are not tracker collectors and are not members everywhere (for whatever reason = egomaniacs who think they must be part of everything) like yourself.

Let them try and look for themselves to make their own picture of the site. Nobody cares if you are a member or not and if you liked it or not.

Also nobody from staff or any of the decent members "hypes" the site. If you would have given a little more attention to all the privacy rules you would have noticed that these are actually working against any kind of hype.

Hype you usually only get from traders and people who can't shut up about how great they are on the internet.

I mean in the description of the site in the article it is clearly laid out what the site has and has not. If you expect any aditional wonders you might be missunderstanding a lot.

It's just a movie site with a couple of nice members, a couple of movies, nice themes, nice irc and some perks - nothing more and nothing less.

  15. C // 3/10/2010 05:45:00 PM

I applied, i have not yet recived any info about the status of my application. I'm already a member of quiet few movie trackers, and if it's like you all say then i might just delete my account if i ever get in.

  16. Lightning_Struck_Tower // 3/10/2010 07:37:00 PM

Personally, i find CN to be a pretty decent movie tracker. The theme and their user class system may get criticized but it actually does help promote the activity IMHO.

  17. Unknown // 3/10/2010 08:48:00 PM

Provide me with all your movie tracker profiles?

Does this mean they want url based screenshots of your profile pages or just a list.

  18. zero // 3/10/2010 09:42:00 PM

    @gi

I'd rather listen to hlooom than using a lot of time on answering an interview, and so I did.

  22. Triad_470 // 3/11/2010 04:44:00 AM

wow i cant believe why there are so many negative comments in my opinion this is a great tracker.

i think its better if everyone signed up and had a look themselves rather than listening to everybody else's opinions. self important dickheads who happens to hate everything far outweighs valid critics on the internet.

  23. Unknown // 3/11/2010 09:17:00 AM

    I got in, and.

It stands to reason that the tracker staff and fanboys stress the community aspect, because content-wise the tracker is unimpressive and wholly undeserving of the hype it's been receiving.

  24. hotwire // 3/12/2010 01:10:00 AM

Do they let us know if we were rejected? Or do we just assume we were if there is no reply?

  25. Unknown // 3/12/2010 01:17:00 AM

If you receive no response after a week its safe to say you were rejected.

Be sure to check your spam folders just in case as well.

  26. Unknown // 3/17/2010 04:30:00 AM

I've just got the confirmation for my apply (in less than an hour).
At a first sight I find it very attractive (stylesheets) and for the number of registered users I consider it has a very good number of peers.
Its slogan is a very good choice, having a double meaning, a family as a symbolic Sicilian criminal society and the real meaning: a community acting as a unit based on specific rules.
Now I have to read the rules, FAQ and familiarize with best practices. Hope to become soon a good member of the clan :)

CN is a great site to be on, their history along with current greatness allow them to be the outstanding tracker that they are today.
