Good news for both ATI and NVIDIA graphics card owners – new drivers are here. ATI have released much awaited Catalyst 9.4 (final) drivers and NVIDIA too have released ForceWare 185.68 drivers which are still in beta. Interestingly, ATI’s release consists of an official driver for current pre release builds of Windows 7. ForceWare 185.68 on the other hand is only officially availably for Windows Vista and XP. Both driver releases contain several improvements including various performance and reliability enhancements - upgrading is recommended.

Good news is that these drivers contain optimizations for the recently released Chronicles of Riddick : Assault on Dark Athena. Way to go NVIDIA!

ATI Catalyst 9.4 WHQL
There are lots of improvements here including several game specific fixes. More information and release notes can be found in the Guru3d article located here. Note that these drivers bear Windows Hardware Quality Labs (WHQL) certification.
