This should be good news for those who are looking forward to get into ACiD (or A-L) - it’s been over 6 months since our last invite giveaway for this tracker and it’s time for another. You may not have heard about A-L before as it does not prefer much publicity – it’s rules prohibit disclosing full tracker name or URL in public. However is not a new tracker by any means – it’s a veteran in the BitTorrent scene and has been online for over 4 years. AL staff have yet again agreed to offer invites to FILEnetworks readers who are interested in becoming a part of community based general tracker with fast pre times and good download speeds.
ACiD’s URL (or existence) may not be publicly discussed in the BitTorrent community but it’s certainly not a site that’s short of content or members. As of 09/1/2010 AL tracks nearly 8500 active torrents and has nearly 19000 registered users (and that’s not counting the 12000+ members who got banned). As said above it’s a pretty old private tracker which launched back in 2006 – in fact, AL will be celebrating their 4th birthday on the 18th January 2010.
No matter how old a BitTorrent tracker is, it wouldn’t be successful without a good community or a content rich torrent index. Thankfully, ACiD has both. It’s staff are some of the friendliest folks around and it has some good members who are great at filling requests and offering help. Speaking of content, AL is a general/0day tracker that tracks both scene and non scene releases (and it’s worth a mention that their pre times, specially for TV releases, have definitely improved since our last mention). You can find pretty much all major movie, music, appz, game, ebook and other release on this tracker. But that’s not all – in addition to common scene and p2p releases, AL tracks a lot of exclusive torrents and packs. These releases can usually be identified by the tags ‘TeamAcid’, ‘RequestAcid’, ‘Acid’, ‘ACID INT’, etc. Screenshots below shows part of the torrent index at AL:

A detailed screenshot of the tracker, it’s layout and main features of the interface can be found here. Note that there are now two more themes to choose from in addition to the default layout.
Anyway back to the invite giveaway. Although a closed site by most standards, ACiD admins and staff have agreed to provide readers of FILEnetworks Blog a chance to get invited to this great tracker. You can request for an invite using any one (but not both) of the methods below:
- Send an E-mail with the subject ‘Acid Invite’ to firstname.lastname@example.org. Be sure to include two screenshots of at least two private torrent trackers that you are already a member of.
- Login to Acid invites IRC channel and request an invite there – please follow rules stated in the channel topic. Invite channel details are as follows:
Direct Link: irc://irc.pron.org.uk/acid-invites
And when you do get in, don’t forget that on the 18th of January, Ratio booster and 2x Upload will be available for all torrents.
Special thanks to vibes, MuddSlinger, saavyboy, smokedit, morph, casper101 and the rest of ACiD staff for the support given.
