A R5.LiNE version of the much anticipated blockbuster movie Hancock has been leaked to several private bittorrent sites across the world. Scene group KAMERA is behind the leak. As with any R5 release, the video is on par with DVD Quality. The audio is from a previous TS (TeleSync) version. Hancock R5 leaked to bittorrent

Yesterday, we talked about how to install Windows Vista alongside Windows XP in a dual boot configuration. But what if you began hating Vista and wanted it out of your system for good? Booting to Windows XP and simply formatting the partition that Windows Vista is installed on will not work. Once Vista is installed, the default boot loader will be Vista's Boot Manager, not the boot.ini file of Windows XP. So if you screw Vista, you risk not being able to access Windows XP installation as well. So is there a way to remove Vista without harming your XP installation? Fortunately, there is.

1. First of all, make sure you have a working Vista installation DVD or an image of it so that you can mount it using a DVD emulation software such as Daemon Tools.

2. Boot to Windows XP and insert or mount the Vista installation DVD. Close any Autorun Windows that appear.

3.Type the following command in the run prompt:

 x:\boot\bootsect.exe /nt52 ALL /force

(Where x is the drive letter of your DVD-ROM drive or virtual drive)

4. Now reboot the computer. You will notice the Windows Boot Manager no longer present at startup. Windows XP will boot automatically.

5. In XP environment, format the partition to which you installed Vista.

6. Now browse to the partition where Windows XP is installed on. Delete the files Boot.BAK and Bootsect.BAK in the root folder.

Windows Vista is now completely removed from your system and Windows XP is once again your default operating system.

World of Warcraft Comic Books : Volume 1-3 Download

It's been ages since Vista was released and I'm still having second thoughts on fully migrating to Vista. Thankfully, Vista can be installed on top of an existing Windows XP installation in a dual boot configuration. This is a great way to try out the new features of Vista while still having your good old XP installation at the ready in case something went wrong or if you simply prefer XP over Vista.

The process is fairly straightforward:

You will need a separate partition (or another hard drive if you have one) other than the one on which XP is installed. Technically it's possible to install both OS on the same partition but it will surely bite you in the ass once you install several software. So make sure you have a separate primary partition ready to install vista on and make sure you have at least 10GB free space available on it. Hint: Use a 3rd party utility such as GParted Live CD or Norton Partition Magic to create and resize partitions.

Now insert your Windows Vista DVD into the drive. There are two possible ways to run setup:

1. Boot to Windows XP and run Vista setup from DVD
2. Boot directly from the Windows Vista DVD

I would suggest you go for the second option. Whichever on you choose, make sure you choose the 'Custom (Advanced)' mode in Vista setup.

Once you reach the step where you need to select the drive to install Vista on, carefully select the partition you created earlier (You can create and delete partitions even in Vista setup but resizing will not be an option as with 3rd party tools). Do not select the partition on which Windows XP is installed.

Allow the installation to complete. Now, every time you boot the machine, you will be taken to the Windows Boot Manager.

This is where you choose the Windows version you want to boot up. Choosing Microsoft Windows Vista will launch Windows Vista and choosing 'Earlier version of Windows' will launch Windows XP.

Private Tracker Watch : HD Transmission signups open - For High Definition (HD) video and Lossless audio content

Textbook Torrents is a private torrent tracker specializing in.....well...Text Books. Yes, thousands and thousands of text books in electronic form, belonging to various categories ranging from Computer Engineering to Chemistry. The tracker was one of it's kind and was a great resources for students and professionals alike.  However the site went offline a few days ago, all thanks to some copyright holders who  obviously did not understand how file sharing worked. In addition to DirectShow, MPC can also use the QuickTime and the RealPlayer architectures (if installed on the computer) to play their native files.
• Matroska and Ogg containers - Media Player Classic supports native playback of OGM and Matroska container formats. However, OGM audio playback is limited by a lack of support for the CoreVorbis DirectShow filter, which mainly affects newer OGM files (c. 2006). The crux of this problem is that MPC is hard-coded to use an older Vorbis filter, so even if one installs newer filters, MPC is unable to use them.
• TV tuners - MPC supports playback and recording of television if a supported TV tuner is installed.

Sri Lanka Cyber Games 2008 - Registrations now open

SuperTorrents (sister site of STMusic - see previous post) is currently open for new signups. You will not require and invitation code to join the site in the next two weeks. Private Tracker Watch: STMusic music torrents tracker signups open

Easily design and simulate electronic circuits with Circuit Maker 2000

You may have never heard of this tracker since it's quite new. Although it's a newcomer into the torrent scene, it is already making waves with out of this world pre times. I have seen some of their uploads beat legends such as SceneAccess (SCC) and SceneTorrents (SCT), registering the lowest pre times. In a test conducted by FileSharefreak to find the tracker with the best pre times, GFT was ranked second while SCT came up as the first.

The best thing about this tracker is that it is not insanely hard to get into. That doesn't mean it's open for signup either. You have to first request an invite from them and then fill in the questionnaire and send it back to the admins. If the admins like your reply, they will invite you.

TuneUp Utilities 2008 7.0.8007

This was quite an annoying error that wasted around 30 mins of my time today when i tried to connect my Nokia mobile to PC using CA-53 data cable. When i tried to connect the phone for the first time after updating PC suite, it gave me "Cannot install USB Phone parent" and "Fatal error during installation" error messages. A bit of Googling and i found out that the PC suite version i had installed at that time (6.86) was a little retarded and apparently the cable driver that came with it did not support CA-53.

Tried various suggestions on Nokia forums including removing all Nokia software in the system, cleaning registry and then installing version 7 of PC suite only to be greeted with the same error message. Here is what i did to get rid of this problem (It's pretty shorter than most methods mentioned; some of which even suggested using devcon to clean the system).

1. Remove you mobile device from the PC if connected.
2. Uninstall any older versions of PC suite and install the latest version. [Link]. Don't connect the phone just yet.
3. Browse to C:\Windows\System32\Drivers folder.
4. Locate the file WDF01000 and make a backup of it.
5. Now delete WDF01000 from System32\Drivers folder.
6. Launch PC suite and connect your phone. Installation should complete.

About a week ago we posted how to install DirectX 10 in Windows XP. We also posted about the DirectX changer software which allows users to switch between DX9 and DX10 seamlessly in a Windows XP environment.

Version 1.1 of KM-Software DirectX Changer was released a few days ago. This version fixes a number of bugs and introduces the ability to change the active DirectX version without requiring a restart. If you are using DirectX 10 for Windows XP, this software is a must have since some games still do require DX9 and Windows XP wont be able to switch between DirectX versions automatically.

Well guess what? It's another private tracker update. Hungary based torrent tracker 'In Deep' is now open for signup. There are only about 35 spots left so you might want to hurry if you really do want to get in.

In Deep tracks 13000 torrents and has a user base of 20000. If you are a non-Hungarian user the Hungarian language interface will be a real turn off. But you only need to remember one word to get going; Letöltés = Browse. Of course the signup page is in all Hungarian but see signup notes below to complete that successfully.

Although the interface is in Hungarian, majority of the content is English (scene releases mostly). Watch for title tags such as 'HunSUBS', H'unDUB', 'Hungarian', 'HUN' as they are good indicators of the release being in Hungarian language.

Apart from these language concerns (for Non-Hungarian users that is), the tracker is actually pretty good.

Private Tracker Watch : Hungarian torrent tracker INDEEP signups open - 4/7/2008

Lots of good low level trackers have been opening signups lately. Nordic-T is another decent private tracker which has an excellent collection of both scene and non scene torrents; precisely 10,723 torrents indexed at time of this post. The site has 40000 users and thanks to the fairly large user base majority of the torrents indexed are alive with good seeder activity.

The best thing i have downloaded from this tracker are some aXXo (non scene) movie packs. They had around six aXXo movie packs (each 25GB) which are not easy to find on private trackers. That's only one of Nordic-t specialities and discovering the rest is up to you. Signups are open as of this post.

Opera 9.51 Build 10081 Final

By now you should all know that popular semi-private bit torrent tracker was resurrected from the dead after several months of downtime, back in April 2008. The site has since been functioning partially, with some features such as the forums being kept offline.

I dont know about you but i have very fond memories of Demonoid's forums from the good old days before shutdown. The community there was the most helpful I had met on a torrent tracker. The forums and the community must have played a big part in Demonoid's rise to top 5 bittorrent trackers in the world.

If you were part of this community, there is some good news for you. The forums are now back online in beta test mode and they will be fully launched in few more days according to Demonoid admins. The following message is displayed in the homepage:

"We are currently working on bringing back the forums.
They should be back online soon, don't forget to visit!"

It has been online and offline during the past few days but seems to be working fine now.
