TorrentBits.Ro V4 Now Online

Back in March 2009, the popular BitTorrent tracker TorrenBits.ro (TBS) launched a beta version of their next major milestone, TorrentBits V4. Shortly afterwards, the beta was halted and the site reverted back to old V3 codebase. Now, nearly an year later in January 2010, it looks like TBS have finally gotten their act together and launched V4, this time without any issues. New TorrenBits is nothing like what it was portrayed to be in the previous beta. Gone are the menu backgrounds filled with fancy artwork – this time around site designers have opted to go with a more professional looking, streamlined user interface that has a polished look and feel. It is definitely an improvement over TorrentBits V3 and if you want to check it out, signups are open.

Although not exactly a celebrity in the BitTorrent scene, TorrentBits.Ro is a huge private tracker. What’s more important is that it’s size hasn't affected torrent download speeds in a bad way, unlike on some other similar trackers.TorrentBit’s download speeds are very good and activity on most torrents is excellent with popular torrents having over 500 seeders each. At the time this article was being written, TBS tracked over 13500 active torrents and had a registered user base exceeding 79000 members. For those who are unaware, this is a General/0Day tracker meaning you can find pretty much everything here ranging from movies to games. Pre time are average and scene releases as well as p2p uploaded content are both indexed. Lots of packs are also available (look in TBS-Packs section for exclusive releases).

Anyways let’s return to the topic of TorrentBits V4. You can see a screenshot of the site’s main index below:

Although not visible in the image above, some space is taken by what looks like a 468x60 advertisement banner on top right corner of every internal page. While some may not like it, you really can’t blame the admins for putting it there since TBS does not run on donations (and they need to somehow pay server bills).

If you want to check the site out of yourself, signups are currently open. You might want to hurry as there are only around 200 free spots left and they too are getting filled pretty fast. If by the time you read this signups have closed, check back again as TorrenBits is a tracker that opens its doors to the public on a regular basis.
