Lots of people tend to download television series via BitTorrent these days – there are even specialized TV trackers online that cater the needs of such users. However, most of these TV torrent sites focus mainly on series that are based on the United States (or Canada). But what if you want to download shows made in the United Kingdom (UK)? There are many UK based shows such as Doctor Who, The IT Crowd, BBC Documentaries, etc that hugely popular across the world and there are no doubt many torrenters who’d like to get their hands on such great content. This post summarizes information about three private torrent trackers that are dedicated to indexing British TV shows; The Box, ChaosUK and UKNova. From premium documentaries to entertainment series, you can probably find almost all major UK TV show among these three torrent sites.

The Box
TheBox
The Box is probably the largest of all trackers featured here. There is an experienced crew behind The Box who are also responsible for the creation of niche trackers such as The Occult, The Place and The Vault. With over 50000 members and 50000 active torrents, this site ain’t fuc*ing around.  There are TV shows related to 37 different categories ranging from game shows to drama series. The Box also tracks some audio only content such as comedy aired on British radio. The site is based on a custom version of XBTT script and they’ve recently changed category icons which IMHO has improved the site’s looks.
The Box Shows

The Box is currently open for registrations. However, keep in mind that these open signup windows usually last for very short periods of time. There is no reason to worry though – it opens doors to the public almost on a daily basis. If you missed the current open signup, check back after some time. There’s a good chance it’ll be open again.

UKNova
UKNova Logo
Although overshadowed by Box in some cases, UKNova is another content rich British TV tracker that has been online for years. With around 35000 registered members it too has a decently sized user base. There are close to 2500 active torrents at the time of this posting and these are indexed across 5 main categories; TV entertainment, fiction, factual (mainly news and documentaries), radio and miscellany. UKNova is built on a custom tracker script and looks very different from your average private tracker. However it has all the major features of a torrent site including category based search, torrent bookmarking, RSS, forums and chat.
UKNova

Just like The Box (above), UKNova too has very volatile open signups. Doors tend to open and close on a very frequent basis. Right now it’s open for signup but by the time you read this post, it may be a different story. If this is the case, try again later – you’ll almost certainly catch it open within the day if you keep trying.

ChaosUK (TotalChaos)
TotalChaos
Out of the three sites featured in this article, ChaosUK is probably the smallest and the lesser known. However, there’s no reason to underestimate this tracker – it’s still a very good source for UK based television content both old and new. In addition to TV, it tracks English movies including a lot of classics produced before 1985 as well as some sports content. Right now there are about 1500 active torrents indexed and this number keeps growing daily. Site is built on TS Special Edition tracker script which most of you might familiar. Below is a screenshot of some of the categories found on ChaosUK:

Thankfully, TotalChoas signups seem to remain open for an extended amount of time. Albeit usually a closed community, TC has been in open registration mode for the last couple of days. If you are interested in British TV shows, Radio shows, movies, documentaries and lifestyle related shows, it’s a decent tracker to have.

I've tried to register at TheBox but it says: Signup Failed! - Registration not allowed!

    Why is that ?

Avoid The box.bz. they will rip you off. They stole over $100 from me by taking my donation then banning me for no reason, without a warning, before I could use the credits which are awarded for "donations". Donations are no more than credit purchases for those who live outside the UK. No other way. But don't give, because these isolated thieves will ban you at their whim and you will be left without. Caveat emptor.

TheBox.bz banned me not labeling a torrent correctly despite, like the poster above, donating.

By far the rudest and most power-hungry admins I have ever come across. Avoid.

The two above posters must have done something very bad to get banned from thebox.bz. I've been a member for over 2 years now and they are a great site! I've never heard of the above problems, so I'm suspecting user errors.

The Box Admins very very very picky indeed. They cancelled my upload ability indefinitely for an incomplete Torrent which was not my fault. They didn’t give me a chance to tell them that of course. The Admins are very rude in the private messages. I’m not spending time capturing TV for those people to talk to me like I’m a fool. It was a generally unpleasant experience really I’m looking for another British TV Tracker. Maybe TV Chaos.

I was a member for 4 years and now I cannot sign up anymore for no reason! The Box BZ has really disappointed me !

The admins at Thebox are a pack of utter c*nts. If you search you can find many users who have been the victims of very rude admins and random banning. I'm a regular member of many many sites and never come across anything like the admins at thebox. I actually wrote to FACT to ask them to shut down thebox - that's how bad they are. I hope they are shut down, and the admins heavily fined, so much more helpful sites can take over.

Well, it probably says more about you than it does them. I am a member of many sites like the Box to do with films and TV and so many times new members come in with a stinky attitude. They don't bother to read the rules and then get really aggressive when "the right way" is pointed out to them. Why is there a right way, because it would be chaos otherwise. Just read the rules, stick to them, don't get gobby and everything will be fine.

I won't miss "the box." The admin there was aggressive, arrogant, and confrontational. If you made a mistake, they assumed you were trying to get away with something and told you so in no uncertain terms. I find that appalling. From what I understand, they are going more underground with a "very select" group of followers. On a lighter note, UK Chaos has the best admin. They will tell you where you went wrong and ask you to correct it. Usually, it's a simple tech error, and you are informed minus the attitude. I never felt as if my face was being rubbed in the dirt like I did at "the box."

All sites mentioned here have been shut down

No they haven't. TVChaosUK is up and running.

    Another fantastic site is rareshare.me

    Small but great too.

    UKNova address is uknova.pw

Very few dedicated UK Torrent sites left nowadays.

I think the old site went down years ago.
