If you have been around the BitTorrent scene for a while, you are bound to have heard about XtremeWrestlingTorrents (XWT for short). It is a long standing, veteran private tracker and one of the most popular sites indexing Wrestling content. Up until recently, XWT had two other sister sites, XWT-Classics, a wrestling tracker dedicated to classic content, and All4Nothing, a General/0Day torrent site. Well, the XWT family of trackers just got a new member, this time a specialized TV tracker in the name of Torrent-Vision.

In our previous article, we talked about how Microsoft’s latest OS Windows 8 can be activated by using a rogue KMS activation server. But it gets even better – Microsoft is running a promotion giving away the Windows 8 Media Center Pack for free. Pirates have found a way to exploit this offer to convert their pirated Windows 8 copies into legitimate copies WITH the MC pack! Yes it does work on pirated copies activated using the rogue KMS method. Proof below:

Exploiting this does not involve running any sort of crack, patch or custom code on the OS. You simply need to visit the Microsoft Media Center offer site on an activated Windows 8 machine (activated legitimately, or otherwise) and enter your E-mail. You should get a product key in your inbox in about 24-72 hours. This product key can be used to upgrade your copy of Windows 8 Pro to Windows 8 Pro + Media Center Pack and can be used when reinstalling Windows as well . Product key ( as of now ) is WGA safe and is considered legitimate. The MC offer is valid till 31st January 2012. Step by step instructions on how to do this is already posted on My Digital Life forums [Link]. This has also been covered on high profile publications such as The Verge and is pretty much all over the web. Patch this soon Microsoft. You are losing a lot of $$$ here.

Edit: I just went to the offer site on a Windows 7 machine and entered a different E-mail address just for the lulz, and it still said “A key will be emailed within 72 hours”. So this might actually work for anyone with internet access and a web browser.

Edit 2 : Whether a fresh reinstall of Win 8 Pro using the MC key will activate the OS after January 31st, 2013, is still unclear. If it doesn’t activate for the MC key directly, you should be able to activate it after first activating Windows against a rogue/legit KMS server and then entering the MC key. In any case, activation is permanent until you decide to reinstall.

Whatever tech site you go to these days, the buzzword everywhere is “Windows 8”, latest update to Microsoft’s flagship operating system. I’ve been playing with it for the last couple of weeks and I’ve got to say, although the Metro UI has received a lot of criticism from fans this is a rock solid OS. Just one advice if you are a new user to Windows 8 – don’t give up on the OS based on first impressions alone. The more you use it, the more it will grow on you. Either way, coming back to the most important question if you are a pirate, has Windows 8 really been cracked?

Probably the most famous “crack'” for Windows 7 and Vista were the BIOS emulation hacks (i.e. DAZ Loader) that emulated the BIOS of an OEM build to fool windows into thinking it was activated. Not only did these hacks work, they even had the capability to pass WGA (Windows Genuine Advantage) online validation as well. If you browse file sharing portals such as BitTorrent trackers in search of a cracked copy of Windows 8, you’ll notice that a number of “activators’, cracks and loaders will come up in search results. Unfortunately, a good percentage of these don’t work.

As of 14/11/2012, all working rogue activation methods for Windows 8 are based on the “KMS host emulation” method. As you may know, Windows has a Key Management Service (KMS) which allows it to use a KMS host key to activate itself on a KMS host and to establish a local activation service in your environment. Pirates have created their own KMS servers which authenticate even rogue, duplicate or invalid product keys. Once you find a working server, it’s just a matter of setting it’s URL in Windows and forcing an activation (both of which can be done using the command line) – the rogue server will return the result saying your key was authenticated and Windows will switch to activated state.

Some frequently asked questions about this method:

Are KMS host emulation hacks 100% working?

They do, albeit not 100%. For example, this type of activation may not pass Windows Genuine Advantage (WGA) validation. Except for that, it should work and bring your Windows to an activated state.

Can you provide a list of rogue KMS servers to activate against?

No. First, that may be illegal and second, these servers are very unstable. They go down frequently, old servers get taken down and new ones pop up all the time. You have to get the activation done during the small window of time they are up.

What are the command line instructions for activation using a custom KMS server?
[words in bold italic are variables that need to be replaced with your own values]

• slmgr /ipk productkey – Set a KMS host key to use during activation. This is essentially a Windows product key.
• slmgr -skms hostname.com:port – Set a custom KMS authentication server for Windows.
• slmgr /ato – Perform activation

What happens if I don’t activate Windows?

You will not be able to install/download products that require WGA validation. And you will see a watermark on the bottom right of the screen which says “Activate Windows” – this watermark will appear on top of videos as well. Additionally, Windows needs to be in an activated state to change some personalization options and system settings.

How can I obtain a legit coy of Windows 8 for a reasonable price if I already have Windows 7?

If you are running a legit version of Windows 7, you can upgrade to Windows 8 for just $39.99 . If you bought a Windows 7 based PC between 1/1/2012 and 1/1/2013, the upgrade will only cost you $14.99 (check this site) . Note that once you upgrade, you will no longer be able to activate a Windows 7 installation using the same key. It will then only be usable on Windows 8 thereafter. This is something Microsoft doesn’t tell you very clearly.

Last time we attempted to boost the activity of this blog, it ended up being a "major" failure. Not only did we fail on our promises of daily updates, the blog stopped being updated for more than 10 months. This was the longest time the site ran without an update ever since its inception back in 2006. Anyway here we are again, attempting to wake FILEnetworks back from its slumber.

As our long time readers would know (if any of you are still here), FILEnetworks was primarily a blog revolved around BitTorrent news. However, things now are a lot different than they were a year ago. To tell the truth, the frequency of good, new, unique torrent trackers popping up has dropped. We always used to feature fresh new sites that were interesting to our readers and without good new sites we sort of ran out of content to write. This was one of the reasons why we lost interest in updating the site frequently. So does this mean the new FILEnetworks won’t be featuring BT trackers? Of course it will, but maybe not as frequently as we used to a year ago.

In this resurrection, we hope to return to our roots and cover not only BitTorrent but scene news, hacks, interesting tech news, PC Gaming and XBOX 360 articles, etc you won’t usually find on other sites. This time around we won’t promise to provide daily updates, but let us assure that the next update won’t be in 10 more months. So, let’s try this again, shall we?

MP3Scene is the newest MP3 music torrent tracker to be running on SoftMP3 source. As its name suggests, this is a music torrent tracker specializing in scene released MP3 music albums. Indexed music is organized into 40+ different genres including Rock, Pop, Indie, Punk, Jazz and more. In addition to MP3 files which form the majority of  torrent index, this site tracks some MDVDR and Lossless music files as well. Just like SoftMP3, MP3Scene uses multiple torrent index pages as opposed to a single main index found on most other torrent sites. A quick update for TV torrent fans. The past couple of months hasn’t exactly been a joyride for private TV torrent trackers in general. TVTorrentz.com shut down, BitMeTV had extended downtimes (now back online) and we didn’t see any notable new TV trackers pop up lately as well (in fact, no notable/stable new TV trackers since the birth of BTN). Either way, here’s some good news if you are a fan of US/UK TV shows. Freshon.TV (formerly known as Tv.Torrents.Ro) is currently open for signup and is accepting new registrations. This is a veteran TV tracker based in the torrent friendly country of Romania and has been in operation for years.

As we have highlighted many times in the past, Tv.Torrents.Ro (aka Freshon.TV) is without a doubt one of the top 4 specialized TV trackers that are online (other sites being TvTorrents.Com, BitMeTV and BTN). TvT.Ro is a true veteran in the BitTorrent scene and has been online for nearly 6 years. It has made significant improvements over time and now sports one of the cleanest interfaces found on a TV torrent tracker. This was implemented back in 2010, in a massive overhaul during which mostly every aspect of TVT.Ro was re-coded resulting in optimized navigation, a more accessible user interface, faster loading times and a whole lot of other features that improved the site’s usability. About a year back, we posted an article on FILEnetworks Blog about a specialized HD private torrent tracker by the name FraMeSToR-HD. It was a project started by the veteran P2P movie encoder group FraMeSToR. Today, a year later, FHD is undergoing some massive changes. First and foremost, the site is now called BeyondHD – they have moved to a new domain, a new visual theme and is pretty much a different site in terms of looks. More importantly, it is now essentially a ratioless tracker powered by the newly implemented “Download Credits” (DC) system. Despite these changes, BHD remains to be a specialized tracker for high definition content including 3DBD, BD25, Remux & other Blu Ray encodes, 720p,1080p/1080i movie and TV shows and even lossless FLAC music. If you are interested in joining, signups are now open for a limited time.

The switch from Framestor-HD to BeyondHD seems to have gone smoothly. All existing user accounts and torrents have successfully been migrated over to the new site. As of 6/2/2012, BHD now tracks ~3000 active torrents and has a registered users base of 6700+ members. Quoted below is what BHD site admins told FILEnetworks Blog about the new changes:

*There was previously a ratio free private HD tracker by the name SceneX. However this site is now defunct, making BeyondHD the only functioning ratio free HD tracker currently in existence.

One of the mains reasons behind the change over from FHD to BeyonHD seems to invite more internal encoders other than Framestor in to the tracker and beef up the number of available releases:

Our idea is to bring you a huge number of quality content, not only by us, but also by other quality groups or sole encoders who share our vision. That's why we are going to change our site name from framestor-hd.org to beyondhd.org. We believe that this will open up the gates to welcome more new encoding talent and we could have a lot more available content.

It’s about time we talked about a new private torrent tracker. The site that we are featuring today is pretty secretive in their ways. Elk (short for Electrobits) is a small private music torrent tracker that is almost always closed for signup. However, new users can now get invited in through the invite application form that is currently online. The site, although relatively new, seems to be looking to become a small but active community of music sharers; there seems to be no place for tracker collectors here as site staff is targeting to recruit only 1000 members in the initial phase. Although only about a month old, it already indexes more than 5000 torrents including lots of FLAC music under multiple genres.

According to official statistics, Elk launched back in January 2012 and already indexes 5700+ active torrents. The site has been closed for signups since day one and currently only has a small user base of around 150 members. A brief description about the site sent to us by its admins pretty much sums it all up:

We are a music tracker that is currently small in size and we are looking to grow. We currently have a user base of 150 and around 5700 torrents. With the addition of our auto-upload bot, uploading has never been more active.
We are focused on quality over quantity. As with most trackers we also offer a request section and we will do what we can to ensure that the requests that are made are fulfilled.
We are not a ratio free site, however due to the bonus system this is one of the easiest sites out there to maintain a good ratio on.

With the recent shut down of MegaUpload, the cyberlocker and one click hosting services space was shaken violently. In the aftermath, several leading file hosters including FileSonic, FileServe, FilePost & x7.to either suspended their operations or reduced functionality that made sharing of large files possible. In dark times like this, you’d think that no one would think of launching a new cyberlocker service, right? Wrong. As it is always the case with file sharing sites, when one goes down, several others pop in to take its place. PirateBees is one such new service that claims to offer free, one click online storage. This yet to be launched service carries an interesting tagline “Made by Pirates, For Pirates”. Not much is known about PirateBees yet, apart from the fact that crew behind veteran DDL forum x264-bb are behind the project.

The initial pre-launch publicity about the new site was given through a mass PM sent to existing x264-BB members:

They may have finally decided to launch a file host of their own. Whether the final service will be free for all, invite only or exclusive to x264-bb members is currently not known. It’s all speculation right now - you can enter your E-mail address on the site to receive any official announcements made in future. By now, each and every regular reader of this blog are likely to be a proud member of TorrentLeech (TL) tracker. But for those who don’t know what it is, TorrentLeech is the de facto king of private BitTorrent trackers. This 7+ year old file sharing community boasts a nearly 50000 strong torrent index, excellent download speeds and a very active user base comprised of hard core BitTorrent users. Now, TL is a private community with registrations usually closed to new members. However, getting invited in is actually pretty easy. Did you know that TL now has in place a fully automated IRC invite bot that serves free invites instantly? All you have to do is to log into their public invites IRC channel and type in your E-mail address. If you are too lazy to set up IRC connectivity, TL now allows you to connect to the chatroom through the browser itself.

Although it is now easy for even a beginner to get into TL, keeping the account without getting banned is a different story. You have to adhere to ratio rules if you are to survive there. It is strongly recommended that you read TL rules and FAQ before going on a downloading spree. The TorrentLeech Wiki has all the info and guides you’ll ever need. How To Get A Free TorrentLeech Invite

1. Visit http://torrentleech.org/user/chat/guest. 
2. Enter a user name – This is just to join the chat room. This will not be your TL account user name. Click the ‘chat’ button once you are done.
3. If you are using Google Chrome and get a ‘out of date plugin’ warning, try clicking on the ‘Run this time’ button below the address bar. In most cases this should work. If it does not, you’ll have to download and install the Java plugin from here.
4. You will get a Java security warning. Press ‘Run’ to load the java based chat window within the browser.
5. You will automatically connect to TLs’ public invite request channel. Do not spam this channel. Do not say “hi”, “hello”, “can I haz invite plz” or anything else. Just type a valid E-mail address of yours and hit enter. You will immediately be disconnected from the channel. A TL invite will be sent to the E-mail address you just entered (the invite usually arrives from mailer[at]torrentleech[dot]org). Follow the instructions on the invite E-mail to complete the signup process.

Regular readers of the blog might find the content of this article a bit redundant. That’s because we have already in the past posted numerous articles on how to get into TL. However, if you have less BitTorrent savvy friends on Facebook, Twitter, etc, share this post with them so that they can be a part of this wonderful tracker as well.

Oh hai – if anybody is still reading, we’re still here. So our plans to update the blog at least once every two days went to hell :p. It’s almost been two months since we last posted an article here. That happens sometimes. But we’re still here. A lot of important shit went down in the last couple of weeks including the introduction and shelving of SOPA, the shutdown of Megaupload, the arrest and conviction of NinjaVideo admins, Grooveshark getting sued by top 4 music labels, etc etc. Despite the numerous barriers (legal challenges and otherwise) the community seems to come across, file sharing still continues to thrive. With so much action going on we felt it was time for us to update the blog again, After all, new sites that make file sharing possible still get launched almost on a daily basis & the ones that are existing occasionally still open registrations. And it’s our job to report on them. We’ll try our best to keep this blog updated as much as we can. Adding to our previous post about private torrent trackers currently open for signup, here are three more torrent sites that have opened their doors to the public this holiday season. The article features SuperTorrents, a large General/0Day tracker, SceneFZ, another huge general tracker and Lossless-World, a niche torrent site catering to high quality FLAC music files. If you are looking for general content downloads, ST and SFZ are two excellent candidates for being your primary general tracker. Movie fans in particular would want to check this out as it indexes nearly 27000 English and non English movies (up from 20000 six months ago). But that’s not all, you can find latest games, music, TV shows, software and a number of freeleech packs in SceneFZ’s massive torrent index.

In case you have forgotten, in this article we present you summarized information about 5 private torrent trackers that are currently accepting new registrations (without the need for invite codes_. HD-Torrents is currently open for signup. After yesterday’s open registration at HDChina, one could say these are good times for fans of HD content – but some of you might disagree, especially if you are one of the many who got disabled due to inactivity over at HDT. Couple of days ago, HD-Torrents admins launched a massive operation to to purge inactive accounts from the tracker. As a result over 7500 accounts were disabled due to inactivity – this was effectively one third of HDT’s users base. But that’s not all, signups at HDT have been opened once again to fill the vacated ranks with new blood. For those of you hearing about this tracker for the first time, HD-Torrents is a veteran specialized HD torrent site indexing high definition movies and TV shows including scene, non scene and internal releases. Open signups at HDT is quite a rare occurrence so get in while you can.

At the end of last month, there were around 22000 registered members on HD-Torrents. Fast forward three days into October this number has fallen towards 14000. Over 7700 accounts were disabled for inactivity – this is one tracker where just logging in once a month to keep the account active is not going to work. To quote the official rules:

• If you have a combined download total in excess of 25 GB and your ratio is below 0.70 you will receive two consecutive warnings. Failure to act upon the warnings and increase your ratio above 0.70 will get your account disabled.
• You are required to download at least 15 GB each quarter (90 days). Each quarter starts respectively on 1st day of January, April, July and October and ends on the last day of March, June, September and December. If on the 26 day of the last month of each quarter you are bellow the 15 GB minimum, you will receive a reminder. If on the last day of the quarter you still do not meet the requirement, your account will be disabled

It’s highly likely that it was the minimum quarterly download requirement of 15gb that doomed many of the disabled members. If you are thinking of creating an account here, do not forget about the two rules quoted above.

Coming back to the content indexed on HDT, it is in fact a pretty good HD tracker. With over 13500 torrents and an active seeder/leecher community (most popular torrent on this tracker has over 500 seeds), HD-Torrents is a good place to be if you love high definition content. It tracks lots of 720p and 1080p releases (in x264 container), untouched Blu –Ray, Blu-Ray Remux, etc ranging from movies, TV shows, documentaries, anime to even some high quality lossless music. There are a lot of p2p releases indexed (in addition to scene releases) including some uploads by internal encoder groups which include HiDt (which includes EuReKa who formerly released on Awesome-HD), ViSTA™, DNL, HDMaNiAcS & KRaLiMaRKo.

As said in the title of this post, signups for HD-Torrents are currently open. An official post by administrators on the homepage says:

Dear members, we moved HD-Torrents to a new server and we decided to open the tracker for registration to a total limit of 38,000 members. The site will open at 16:00 GMT on 03.10.11

It is not clear if the site would stay open until the user limit of 38000 is reached (that leaves around 24000 free spots up for the taking). However, if you like HD content, here’s a good opportunity to be part of a decent HD tracker.

We are one whole day late in publishing this news but if everything goes according to plan HDChina’s open signups will continue until midnight on 3rd of October 2011 and everyone will have plenty of time to create an account on this awesome HD tracker. First things first – as the name suggest, HDChina is a private tracker that has Chinese origins. But that doesn’t mean it would be useless for those who seek to download English content. HDC in fact tracks a lot of English releases (including scene, non scene and tracker exclusive uploads by affiliated groups) in addition to local content. It is a massive HD tracker that every serious fan of HD content should definitely be a part of. Last time this tracker opened signups was back in February 2010 – which is more than a year ago. This time around they have a limited open signup to celebrate National Day in China.

Although not very popular in the western world, HDChina is a huge private tracker and is one of the largest HD trackers ever. At the time this post was being written there were over 46500 registered members on HDC and it also had a mammoth sized torrent index with over 33000 HD torrents. The reason for it’s relative lack of popularity in English speaking countries might be the whole ‘Chinese connection’. After having a glance at the signup page filled with Chinese characters, many people seem to turn away, assuming this to be a BitTorrent tracker with releases local to China. This however is far from the truth. Majority of the content indexed on HDC are in English language including international releases such as Hollywood blockbusters and HDTV shows aired in the US and UK. Even the site interface can easily be switched to English if required - Once logged in, just click on the English flag icon on the top left corner of the page to change the language. Also note that this site labels almost all torrents including English only releases using both Chinese and English wording. So just know that a torrent having a Chinese label doesn’t mean it’s a Chinese release.

As far as the content goes, HDC is movie/TV tracker. A list of categories and video formats found on this tracker are summarized below:

• Movie: Blu-ray, 1080i, 1080p, 720p
• TV Episode: TV EP (CN/HK/TW), TV EP (JP/KR), TV EP (US/UK)
• TV PACK: TV Pack China (HK/TW), TV Pack JP/KR, TV Pack US/UK
• Others: Sports, Animation, Documentary, Music Video
• Audio: Lossless, Audio Track

Individual releases (which include 0day uploads) are accompanied by large torrent packs. These are pretty huge, with some packs exceeding 400GB in file size. Additionally, this tracker has no shortage of exclusive uploads thanks to the shitload of affiliated P2P groups that release on it such as HDChina, HDCTV, LU9998, iHD, CtrlHD, beAst & HDS, KiSHD and Pa@Ph. While creating an account on HDC will be easy thanks to the open signups, keeping it from getting disabled would be a harder task. HDC is serious about user activity and all new users are automatically checked by the system after a specific period of time and immediately disabled if minimum upload/download and bonus points requirements are not met. Quoted below is the official announcement:

1.If failed to meet the following requirements, new users would be banned after 30 days from the date of registration, regardless of signing up though invites or open registrations. Further, a new account created by open registration with no upload or download behavior in the first 3 Days will be banned, while 7 Days for Registration through invitation.
2.You MUST 30G Achieve the minimum for both uploading and Downloading Amount as well as gaining "seeding" no less than 4 000 Bonus Points in 30 Days from the Date of registration. These conditions shall be met simultaneously or you account will be banned.
Note: Donors, VIPs, uploaders, encoders, or users with higher rank are excluded from the above check-up system.

1. A new account created by open registration with no upload or download behavior in the first 3 Days will be banned

I honestly can’t remember the last time TehConnection opened signups. Did they ever have open signups? Well it doesn’t matter, the good news is they have now – doors are now open to movie fanatics around the world. TehConnection (TC) is a specialized movie torrent tracker based on Gazelle codebase. It created a lot of buzz even during its early days since the project was backed by several staff of then legendary SceneTorrents (ScT) tracker. TC has really come a long way since then – today it has established itself as one of the best private movie torrent trackers around. If you are a fan of English (and some foreign) movies, it’s time to create an account – and do hurry since there is no notice about open signups on site which means they could close any time.

With over 20000 movie torrents and 10000+ registered members, TehConnection is one of the largest private movie torrent communities currently online. The site has almost always been invite only but invitations were obtainable through partnerships with other sites, power user forums and IRC invite channels. As said earlier this is the first open signup to come in several years time. Open registrations coincide with several new features being added to TC, including search by IMDB number, Montages (in list view), a new upload screen and the ability for for users with producer rank to gift upload credit.

As most of you already know, TehConnection is a movie torrent tracker. The site indexes a massive library of over 13000 movies (20000+ torrents) which involves the work of 264,871 actors, 9385 directors and 18277 writers. TC tracks both SD and HD video content and Gazelle does a fine job of bundling these torrents together, making browsing and search less time consuming.

Registrations for TehConnection are currently open. However, there is no official word on it from the administration (either on site homepage or on the forums) which means signups could close anytime. If you are a movie fan, this is a tracker you should not miss – go ahead and create an account before the doors close. EDIT: This news was posted on Reddit by GLaDOSDan who is a coder at TC so yeah open signups are official.

Specialized music video torrent trackers – we’ve seen quite a few of these launch over the years but very few succeeding in becoming well established BitTorrent sites. MusicEye is the latest tracker to cater to this niche and from what we’ve seen so far, it has the potential of becoming one of the rare successes in this category. ME is powered by Gazelle codebase and is the first ever music video tracker to launch without mandatory ratio requirements (in other words, ratio free). As you may have already guessed, the site tracks music videos, live performances, full concerts and related documentaries (both in standard and high definition). Registrations are currently open if you are planning to create an account – from what we hear from the admins open signups will only last till this Saturday (22nd).

Been in beta for over a month, MusicEye opened to the public just 5 days ago. Response it has received from the BitTorrent community so far has been great – there are already over 1400 members registered on site and this number is likely to increase since registrations are still open. MusicEyes uploaders too have done an excellent job in ramping up the sites content offering – it already indexes over 1100 active music video torrents.

Speaking of the torrent index, the site features music videos, live performances, full converts and music documentaries in HD and standard video formats. These are all well organized in the main index and search thanks to Gazelle. Notable features include Artist pages (somewhat similar to Series pages on BTN), collections, subscriptions, etc. A screenshot showing part of the main torrent index can be seen below:

As we mentioned earlier, open registrations would continue until Saturday the 22nd. To quote the official post on homepage:

ong time readers of this blog should be no strangers to specialized TV torrent trackers such as BTN, BitmeTV, TVTorrents.Com and Tv.Torrents.Ro. But have you heard about torrentRmine (TRM)? While most TV trackers focus on popular drama, comedy, sitcoms, etc aired on US and Canadian television, TRM focuses more on specialized content such as TV talk shows, documentaries, reality TV and similar series. With their own ‘cappers’ who rip television shows from digital satellite TV (DSTV) and high definition TV (HDTV) broadcasts, TRM really has some unique content. Over the years, torrentsRmine has mostly been an invite only tracker – good news is that signups have been opened for a limited time and doors are now open to all.

When compared to leading TV trackers, TRM is a small community. As of 21/9/2011, it had around 600 registered members and ~2250 active torrents. The low member count is probably due to TRM being an invite only community and the fact that it frequently disables inactive members. As for the torrents, this tracker indexes and tracks some of the rarest TV torrents around. How does TRM get hold of such content? They have their own ‘cappers’ – folks who capture television shows from sources HDTV, DSTV, etc. Additionally, TRM has an excellent requests section with a high request fulfillment ratio. As mentioned earlier signups for TRM are currently open. Note that new members do not have access to all content on the tracker immediately after signup. To download some exclusive releases and season packs you need to be Power User rank or higher (getting promoted shouldn’t be too hard – minimum upload is 10GB and you only need to be a member for 2 weeks). And it’s worth mentioning that this is not an easy tracker to seed – since TRM requires you to maintain a minimum ratio, be very careful about what you download, especially at first (there are freeleech torrents of course – check out the gold and silver torrents which have 100% and 50% free leech respectively). A couple of weeks ago we gave you a heads up that TorrentLeech coders were working towards a new IRC based invite giveaway system after the site received huge demand for their last open signup. Now here’s the good news for those of you who still have not had a chance to create a TorrentLeech account – the new invites IRC channel is now online and is functional. The system is fully automated and there is no need to wait for or talk to a TL staffer at all – you just have to log into the channel, reply with a valid E-mail when the bot prompts you and that’s about it. There are no interviews, no ratio proof or anything of that sort required either – it’s more like an IRC based open signup.

If you have read up to this point, you obviously know what TL is – a General/0Day private torrent tracker that has a massive torrent index with over 45000 active torrents and a huge user base of 200000+ registered members. 1. Join the TorrentLeech invites IRC channel. Invites channel details are as follows:

2. Once you enter the channel, DO NOT spam it by requesting an invite. Do not post anything in the main channel. Instead, wait for a private message by user TL-Monkey (this is a bot).
3. TL-Monkey’s private message will look something like this: “<TL-Monkey> Please enter a VALID email address and NOTHING else. BE WARNED! Any attempts for multiple accounts will result in ban.”. Please reply to this message with a valid and functional E-mail address only
   i.e. youremail@mail.com.
4. You will get a prompt saying you were added to the invite queue and the estimated time for your invite to arrive will also be mentioned. You will be disconnected from the IRC channel. This is normal. Please check the E-mail you entered in step 3 after the specified time to see if you received the invite. Please make sure to check the SPAM/JUNK folders as well.

We do not know for how long the invites IRC channel will remain open. If you still don’t have a TL account, go grab it without wasting any more time. Good Luck!

You are probably all aware of the recent TorrentLeech Summer2011 special open signup which was targeted at recruiting 100000 new members into the tracker. To prevent the site from cracking under heavy demand, there was a hourly registrations limit in place which limited new signups to a maximum of 800 per hour. However, TL still got hammered by people trying to get in (and refreshing the pages continuously even after the hourly limit exceeded) and soon the open signup had to be prematurely ended. If you are one of the unlucky souls to miss out on this TL open signup, there is some good news – TL will definitely have future open signups and giving out invitation codes will be handled by an automated IRC bot.

Quoted below is part of an E-mail message sent to us by TL owner w00t:

We are building a new irc bot who will handle those invites due to the huge amount of users tried to sign up, and took down the site :P The bot should be ready in couple of days, of you want please inform your users as well because they still try to sign up with the SUMMER2011 code ^__^ Every user will get a unique invite code from the bot, when it will be up ;)

Just to make things clear, the SUMMER2011 invite code is now invalid and will not work – there is no point of trying to sign up using that code anymore. When the IRC invite bot is up and when TL starts issuing invites again, we will post the news on FILEnetworks Blog with detailed instructions on how to join the IRC channel and obtain a unique invite code.
