If you are a fan of classic movies or retro TV shows, you most likely have heard the names Gormogon and TV Vault. These are two of the most popular and more accessible private torrent communities specializing in classic content. Between them, these sites now track over 20000 torrents of rare, hard to find movie and TV torrents ranging from films produced as early as 1930s to the late 1990s as well as tons of television series, some several decades old. Gormogon (formerly Classic Cinema Zone) focuses more on retro and foreign movies while TV Vault tracks a lot of old TV series along with complete season packs. The reason for this update is that both these sites have opened signups and accepting new members – if you are a fan of classic content and haven’t made it into any one of these trackers, now is a good time to do so.
Gormogon started off it’s operations back in 2009 as a resurrected version of Classic Cinema Zone. It however was run by a different admin and staff panel than CCZ and was rebuilt from scratch (which seemed to be a good idea as CCZ’s staff were not the most popular bunch in the BitTorrent scene – just have a look at the comments posted to this article). Since then, Gorogon has improved a lot and has become one of the largest classic trackers on the net with over 13300 active torrents in its index. As for the content, this site is all about classic, retro, hard to find, obscure content belonging to a bygone era. Check out the screenshot below to see some of the gems it has to offer:
Note that a certain minority of indexed torrents on Gormogon are tracked by public trackers such as OpenBitTorrent. These torrents (which can be identified using the EXT tag next to its name) are obviously excluded from ratio rules. Registrations for Gormogon are currently open – use the links below to sign up.

A project started by the crew behind Cinemageddon, TV Vault has been online for more than two years. Although the site’s primary focus is old television series, the technology used to power the online implementation is not so old; TVV was one of the first trackers to utilize the now famous Gazelle codebase and it remains to be one of the best Gazelle implementations you can find to date. As for the content, this tracker pretty much kicks ass when it comes to old TV shows – complete seasons as well as individual episodes of classic TV series are available for download.
For a full review of TVV, check out this post. Signups for this tracker are currently open. However, there are only around 175 spots remaining (at time of this post) until the site reaches its max user limit of 10000 members – you might want to hurry if you want in.
