How many times have you lost the progress you made in games due to accidental formatting, hard disk failures and even windows reinstallations? Well I’ve been an unfortunate victim of several such incidents and let me tell you that it’s not fun when that happens. You can of course back up saved game files and game settings manually but I doubt a lot gamers would spend time doing that. Besides, some PC games store settings and saves in all sorts of fuked up locations and you have to browse through entire drives to find them – not cool. What if there was an application that could automatically detect installed games and back up their settings and saves with the click of a button? MASAGAU is a nice little app which does just that.

MASGAU

All you have to do is to install the app and run it – MASGAU will detect installed games on your PC and present options to back up/restore game settings or saved games for detected titles. This is a very easy, one click procedure (see screenshot above – that’s taken after running the app on my PC). Note that it’ll only detect INSTALLED games – it will not detect any standalone PC game rips by Skullptura, etc. MASGAU even comes with a tool that runs in the background & watches for newly created saved games (this is an optional install).

Oh man thanks so much for letting us now about this program. I've had this problem so many times. I thought I had backed up all my saves when installing Win7 only to shortly realize later that F.E.A.R.'s game saves are in some retarded mystical location.
