PTN Invite Applications Open – May 2011

We’ve been blogging about DDL forums throughout the past week or so and it’s high time we switched back to BitTorrent trackers. Good news first up for movie fans – PTN invite applications are now open. As most of you should know, PTN is a ratio free private torrent tracker specializing in movies and movies only. It’s a closed community which has never had an open signup to date. So far, member recruitment has only been done through invite apps and via official recruiters on BitTorrent forums and blogs. We ourselves have given away more than 500 PTN invites to our readers in two previous giveaways but the demand for this tracker remains high. If memory serves correct, online invite apps are being re-opened after 7 long months – these will remain open for two more days and in case you still aren’t a member, here’s a chance to get in.

We’ve pretty much already discussed all there is to be said about this tracker in our previous reviews. But if you are a new reader just joining in, here’s a quick refresh. PTN is a specialized movie torrent tracker that is ratio free. The site operates on a ‘gold’ and ‘total traffic’ based bonus points system instead of the standard download to upload ratio. As of 25/5/2011 there were 4100+ members registered on the tracker and it indexed 7600 active torrents.

PTN sports a unique user interface and is built on a custom tracker script. The site indexes both old and new movies including BRRips, DVDRip, DVDR, untouched Blu Ray and more (these include scene releases, P2P uploads and exclusive movie packs). As mentioned earlier, PTN is an invite only community. However, you can get yourself invited in easily if you successfully fill and submit the online invite application form. It would take a few minutes to answer all the questions but the end result will be well worth it, especially if you are a hard core movie fan.

    i hate all that dozens of qouestions.after 3 fields complete and move scroll down to see are much much more to answer whit the "good luck "to talk in vain i give up.i join lately to a few tracker using this form of aplication on irc and is so annoying like to complete a qouestionary for some astronaut job so in this case i quit.

    Looking for someone to develop a tracker without a torrent backbone.

    What I would like to do is take a site style like Demonoid and strip all the torrent/uploading stuff. No tracker backbone like XBTT will be needed. I want to let users store data and text input by html/VBCode/BBCode in individual posts where the torrent descriptions are located so that they can be contacted directly by other users in the community, while maintaining the searching via keyword, location, category settings as well as user interactions like messaging and profile building through HTML/VBCode/BBCode.

    This will be a system for posting requests, done in the style of a torrent site. No uploading or downloading. Just input of text with html/vbcode support, line by line, categorized by type, like you would search out or specify Movie>>Comedy>>Xvid on a torrent site, except that I would like to tag my categories different so it pertains to the data we are storing in the database.

    I want to keep all user connections/administration in effect, just taking out the torrent aspect.

    I'm desperately looking for someone that could help me out with this project and I am looking to get something done ASAP. This would be a paying job for anyone interested.

    There are certainly a lot of details like that to take into consideration. That is a great point to bring up. I offer the thoughts above as general inspiration but clearly there are questions like the one you bring up where the most important thing will be working in honest good faith. I don?t know if best practices have emerged around things like that, but I am sure that your job is clearly identified as a fair game. Both boys and girls feel the impact of just a moment’s pleasure, for the rest of their lives.
