Scene XviD Release Standards 2009 (TXD2K9)

Release groups from the warez scene are right on top of the piracy pyramid – there is no doubt about that. But ‘the scene’ is not a bunch of geeks releasing leaked material randomly. Scene groups are very well organized and they have their own standards and rules. This is one of the reasons why scene releases are of great quality (identical to the original in most cases), even though they are pirated material. For those interested, here are the new scene standards for releasing XViD encoded videos (movies, TV shows, etc).

At a glance, The XviD Releasing Standards 2009 (TXD2K9) does not seem to introduce drastic changes over the previously declared rule set regarding XViD format. Even the min/max file size for movie releases (700MB/1.4GB) remain the same. Most of the rules mentioned here won’t mean anything to the average torrenter (they are meant to be read by sceners in the first place). But these regulations do improve the overall quality of a release – for example an XViD encode that follows proper scene standards will play on any XViD compatible device (and not just on selected players as in the case with most homemade rips).

The XviD Releasing Standards 2009 (TXD2K9) is signed by the following release groups:

Now you tell me what kind of thief take time to set standards for stealing for fellow thieves.this just goes further to underscore the obvious fact that piracy isnt really theft.piracy unlike theft doesnt replace the original but rather just does the innocent thing of making a copy...anyways,its good that we have standards for the releases.
