BTRACS is an automatic information site which periodically checks closed community bittorrent trackers for being open for signup. Some closed community bittorrent trackers' signups are closed and are "invite only". Here is where BTRACS can help you. The main page is being refreshed every 10 minutes automatically. It checks all bittorrent trackers in its database and provides you the relevant information - which of these bittorrent trackers' signups are open.

Click here to Visit BTRACS Home Page. BTRACS currently indexes 274 trackers. It maintains a separate list of trackers that are currently open. Clicking on one of the site links in this list will directly take you to the signup page. How easy is that?

As of 1/31/2008 3:23:42 AM GMT, it's main pages lists 85 torrent sites which are open for signup:

An even better way is to just do it yourself through Google search. Just type this line at the search window -

    torrents inurl:signup.php

Google will now show only the BitTorrent sites that are displaying the signup.php page (and are thus open to new registrations). You can modify it your own way in case some sites don't use the signup.php page (some use account.php, others use register.php and some use account-signup.php.) Replace those for the above "signup.php" and bob's your uncle!

thanks for the tip mate. We already posted an article related to this. But this method has one drawback; some sites such as Torrent-damage and wily-bytes maintain signup.php even when signups are closed. Google search cannot really distinguish between open and closed sites in these instances. But overall it's a good strategy.
