Over the last few months, we’ve posted about several private torrent trackers that specialize in ROIO (Recordings of Independent Origin), Bootlegs, live music and videos, stage performances, trader friendly music and so on. This post summarizes updated information about eight of these trackers, all of which are currently open for signup. From unreleased albums to studio tracks by popular artists, these sites will help you find rare content that is not available even on most dedicated music trackers out there.

All sites mentioned in the article are open for signup as of 07/2/2009 2.00AM Sri Lankan Time (+5.30 GMT). Please note that trackers such as Dimeadozen and Lossless Legs tend to close (and open) signup at regular intervals. Keep checking back if you couldn’t get in at the first attempt.

We usually hear about games being cracked or leaked before release date but this one really gave scene groups some trouble. Football Manager 2009 (aka FM09) which was initially released to the public on 14th November 2008, remained uncracked for almost three months. FM09’s ‘uncracked streak’ ended earlier today when veteran scene group RELOADED released a seemingly cracked version of Football Manager 2009 v9.2.0 - the most current version of the game available as of 6/2/2009.

The reason why it took long to crack FM09 may be due to the custom, uncommon protection embedded into the game. The game had to be activated online in order to play. There were several leaked builds, partially working cracks and workarounds created by p2p sources prior to RELOADED’s release (by groups FM09, KATOESJA, etc). Most of these were unreliable and as those who used cracked versions had trouble installing update patches (one of the drawbacks associated with PC game piracy). RELOADED’s release however includes a full DVD ISO image of the game, a key generator, a patch to update the game to 9.2.0 as well as instructions on how to activate the game offline. It seems RELOADED exploits the ‘activate by phone’ option in FM09.

RELOADED’s release has already spread to several public and private BitTorrent trackers (according to statistics on #Tracers channel on irc.p2p-net.eu):

If you are a reader of our PC Games section, it should be no secret to you that most PC Titles are cracked and leaked by groups from the warez scene such as RELOADED, HATRE, RAZOR1911, etc. ‘The Game Scene Charts’ is a monthly coded magazine (a small standalone program that integrates magazine content, background music and a user interface) which ranks groups in the gaming scene. This post features December 2008 issue of TGSC.

A typical TGSC issue comprises of the following articles:

• Editorial – Comments from the editors on this month’s issue
• Monthly Chart – Group statistics and rankings based on the number of PC Game ISO/DOX releases for that particular month (in this case December 2008)
• Monthly Overview – Editorial with news, updates and other information surrounding the PC game scene for that particular month
• Group of the month – A list of best ranked scene groups, sorted by month
• Group release stats – Comments about specific groups and their releases for a particular month
• Yearly stats – Group rankings and points earned for the current year
• Yearly overview – Comments by editors on how this months group performance has affected yearly performance
• Group of the year – A list of best ranked scene groups, sorted by year
• All time stats – All time group release statistics 
• All time overview – Comments on how this month’s performance has affected a group’s overall ranking

According to TGSC issue 28 (released on 27 January, 2009), the best ranked scene group for December 2008 is FASiSO. In addition, popular group RELOADED is still ranked first in all time group statistics with a whopping 1951 points. Note that these rankings are purely based on the number of releases by a group – type of DRM/protection cracked is not taken into account.

Here is something you don’t see everyday – RmvBusterS is open for signup. It’s a Polish private torrent tracker which has a lot of movies and TV Shows. Unlike most other trackers, RmvBusterS does not index XViD rips. Every single TV, movie and documentary torrent on this site is re-encoded in RMVB (RealMedia Variable Bitrate) format. There are both English and Polish releases available for download at RmvBusters.

RmvBusters currently tracks over 6000 active torrents and has a user base in excess of 6800 members. As mentioned earlier, every indexed torrent on this tracker points to a re encoded video. For example the TV release ‘Knight Rider Episode 14’ pre’d earlier yesterday by scene group LOL (350MB XViD), is already available on RmvBusters tracker in .rmvb format - Knight Rider (2008) [Eng] [S01E14] [HDTV-LOL] [x264-RmvBusterS] – Size - 162.9MB.

Note that there are both Polish and English languages releases available on this tracker. If you want to download English torrents, look for the [Eng] tag in torrent title. Site interface language is Polish but it shouldn't be hard to find your way around even if you don’t know this language.

I can’t remember the last time this tracker had open registrations. Anyway it’s open now and you no longer need to input a registration key/invite to get in. We don’t know for how long the open signup will continue so get in while you can.

Earlier we reported about the release of Burnout Paradise for the PC. Form what I experienced, Burnout Paradise was relatively free of crashes, bugs and glitches than most recent PC titles. However it seems that some users are still experiencing problems with the game. One of the most common issues seem to be the crashing at startup or hang at loading screen. If you encounter similar problems (or simply want to disable the intro movie) – try the NoIntro fix.

First of all I cannot guarantee that this fix will immediately solve all your Burnout Paradise startup problems – it’s worked for several people I know so think it’s worth a shot. Besides, everything this fix does can be undone - Just use the ‘Enable Intro’ and ‘Disable Intro’ buttons to toggle intro movie display. As usual, credit goes to original developer.

The first final build of Skype 4 was released to the public on the 3rd of February, 2009. Prior to this version (v4.0.0.206) there were no less than 9 public beta builds released over the past few months. We’ve posted about many private torrent trackers here on FILEnetworks Blog but this is the first post about a specialized comics torrent tracker. At a glance, Z-Cult FM may not look like a BitTorrent tracker at all. The site’s design implies it to be nothing more than a comics releases and reviews index. However only a few people know that Z-Cult FM indexes and tracks several thousand comic book torrents – a great resource for comic lovers indeed!

Z-Cult FM is quite a large community with over 84000 registered members (the number of active members may be lower). The exact number of torrents tracked by Z-Cult’s BitTorrent trackers is unknown. Most of the comic books that can be downloaded comprise of scanned .jpeg images packed into Comic Book Archive (.CBR, .CBZ, etc) file formats (how to open). Visual quality is usually excellent on these releases.

There was a time when DCP and Marvel comics were removed from this tracker due to legal threats. These releases can now be found on the site once again but they are no longer hosted nor tracked by Z-Cult. Instead, .torrent files for DCP/Marvel comics are stored and tracked by ComicPirates tracker (http://comicpirates.info). Z-Cult merely indexes these releases which are usually posted by the ‘Comic Pirates release bot’.

How to unlock the BitTorrent trackers section and download torrents from Z-Cult FM

Z-Cult FM homepage can be found at http://www.zcultfm.com/. This is merely a index that shows latest comic book releases. There are no torrents here so you can stop looking for torrent links beneath each comic book post. A new visitor to the site will only see a reviews section and a discussion forum for comics releases. But that is not all Z-Cult FM is about:

To unlock the BitTorrent trackers section on Z-Cult FM, follow the steps below:

1. Visit the Z-Cult FM forums located at http://www.zcultfm.com/~comic/
2. Register for a new account using the ‘register’ option (http://www.zcultfm.com/~comic/profile.php?mode=register)
3. Verify and login with your newly created account. You will still not be able to view the torrents section – you need to post at least 1 forum post.
4. Head to the ‘Introduce Yourself’ section. Make a post there to get your post count to 1.
5. Now go back to the main index. Scroll to the bottom of the page to find the ‘Cult Torrent Section’ and ‘Cult Direct Download Links’ forums :)

Latest comic torrent releases can be found under ‘Newest Submissions” category in Cult Torrent Section. RapidShare and other one click hosting links to comics can be found in ‘Cult Direct Download Links’ section. Use the search feature if you are looking for a particular release.

Several years ago, you needed to be an expert software cracker to defeat a commercial copy protection built into an application or a game. However with Crackulous around, any average Joe is now able to crack iPhone and iPod touch applications with a single click. Crakulous is an application that is capable of removing copy protection built into iPhone and iPod touch applications available from Apple store.

Usually, mobile software and games download from apple store cannot be shared with others as they are protected by a copy protection system. Tv.Torrents.Ro is a popular TV tracker with lots of English (US/Canadian) television episodes and full season packs. TorrentVault and Midnight torrents are general content trackers with scene and p2p releases including movies, music, games and software and TV Shows.

We’ve posted about several business and money making related torrent sites including Salad.tl (Open), SeductionGR (Open/Application) and Biztorrents (Open). As you can see most of these sites have regular open signups. But if you tried to signup for TheVault.BZ (which is probably the best business related tracker on the planet), you’ll find that it’s closed to the public for the most part of year. What many people don’t know is that ‘The Vault’ has an application/IRC based invite system – users with a genuine interest on the tracker can easily get invited through this system.

What’s in ‘The Vault’?

TheVault.Bz has E-Books, videos, audio files, text documents and various other media associated with business related topics. This includes SEO, money making, sales/marketing, money management, economics, finance, customer service, copywriting, management, leadership, investing, trading, stocks, E-Commerce, real estate, recruitment/interviews, blogging, biographies and lots of other subjects similar to these. IMHO TheValut has some very rare content (over 10000 torrents) that is usually not found on any other tracker on the planet.

How to get invited to TheVault.bz

First of all don’t try to join TheVault just because you like to collect trackers - join it only if you have a genuine interest in any of the subjects mentioned above (or in some other business related subject).   

1. You need to get an IRC client installed. If you don’t already have one installed, we recommend you install mIRC. mIRC download links and a brief tutorial can be found here.
2. Once IRC client is set up, change you nickname to whatever nickname you want to have on TheVault tracker (in mIRC, nickname can be changed in Tools—>Options menu.
3. Join TheVault.BZ invites channel. This is located on IRC server irc.thevault.bz:6667 and the channel name is #thevault-invites. If you are using mIRC click on this direct link irc://irc.thevault.bz:6667/thevault-invites to visit the channel. 
4. Don’ PM anyone just yet. First read TheVault FAQ and Rules (you’ll need to read these in order to answer application questions).
5. Now visit http://www.thevault.bz/app.php. Read the background section carefully and answer the questions as instructed. Note that you need to answer each and every one of these.
6. Once done answering, head back to the IRC room and paste your answers along with the question number in the main channel (don’t PM). Wait for someone to respond – do not leave the channel till you have got confirmation on your new TheVault account.
