As we told you earlier, Tranceroute, one of the best trance music trackers currently online, just opened public signups. Signups will be open till 01.01.2009 11am GMT (12am CET/ 2pm MSK) - till then you can register for free without the need for an invite code. Singles, albums, mixes, promos, music videos and lots of other English music torrents can be downloaded from TranceRoute tracker.

At the time this post is being written, TranceRoute tracks over 7200 torrents. The exact number of registered users is not known. Music from a number of different music genres such as Disco, Dream, Electro, Techno, etc can be found here. This includes over 500 torrents of lossless music. In addition, TranceRoute has one of the best exclusive releases section I have seen on a BitTorrent tracker.

 

A lot of good things can be said about this tracker. TranceRoute has a really cool, unique interface which is easy to navigate. It’s browse page includes tabs such as ‘totally fresh tunes’, ‘exclusives’, ‘trusted uploads’ etc – this really enhances the visibility of content on the tracker.

For those who are obsessed with tracker levels, TranceRoute is a level 4 tracker (if memory servers correct). Signups are open and this is a music have tracker if you are a music fan.

We’ve posted about many private torrent trackers on FILEnetworks Blog but there have only been very few articles on dedicated software (appz or application) trackers such as Appz BitShock, Appzuniverse, LinuxTracker and TuxDistro. SmartApps is a private torrent tracker specializing in software for Windows, Mac and Linux platforms. It’s the sister site of Dynamic-Universe, a new general tracker we reviewed earlier.

As we said SmartApps is quite new and has only around 260 members (at the time this post is being written). There are however over 400 torrents indexed on this tracker. Majority of the content comprise of scene releases of Windows applications. Additionally, there are some Mac, Linux appz as well as smaller PC games available on SmartApps. 

One thing I noticed is that even though this tracker currently has a small user base, most of the new torrents have 4-5 seeders each. This is adequate (and better than some general trackers which have 1 seeder on every torrent) and provides satisfactory download speeds most of the time.

Updated builds of AnyDVD and AnyDVD HD have been released. You should be familiar with these apps by now but if you don’t know, AnyDVD is a software that can bypass many DVD and Blu-Ray copy protection schemes. It’s developed by SlySoft who were the first to crack the BD+ (Blu-Ray) copy protection scheme. When run in combination with DVD ripper applications such as CloneDVD, this is one of the easiest methods to make backups of copy protected/encrypted DVD and Blu Ray disks.

Version 6.5.03 includes support for the new BD+ copy protection system. AnyDVD and AnyDVDHD were also discussed in our previous post located here.

Developer Description

AnyDVD is a driver, which descrambles DVD-Movies automatically in the background. This DVD appears unprotected and region code free for all applications and the Windows operating system as well. With AnyDVD's help copy tools like CloneDVD, Pinnacle Instant Copy, InterVideo DVD-Copy, etc. are able to copy CSS protected Movies. You can remove the RPC region code, thereby making the movie region free and viewable on any DVD player and with any DVD player software. With the help of AnyDVD you can watch movies with non matching region codes with every DVD Player Software you like.

AnyDVD is capable of removing unwanted movie features, including subtitles and prohibition messages such as copyright and FBI warnings. It also allows you to launch an external application whenever inserting or removing a disc, or prevent 'PC-friendly' software from automatically launching when inserting a video DVD.  AnyDVD decrypts not just DVDs: AnyDVD allows you also to play, copy and rip protected Audio CDs! Decryption is not all that AnyDVD offers. You can control the drive speed of your DVD drive, allowing you to reduce the noise level when watching movies on your PC. You can even adjust the display frequency of your monitor for both NTSC and PAL displays.

First of all let me tell you that this news will only be useful to existing members of RevolutionTT tracker. Since we have posted several times about RevTT open signups before, I assume we have a good number of readers who are already RevTT members. The good news is that RevTT have launched Holiday IRC bonus once again. This is one of the easiest ways to win free upload credit on this tracker.

1. Login to RevolutionTT and use the built in IRC chat page at https://www.revolutiontt.net/chat.php. You will need to have the Java Runtime Environment installed (Download it free from here) in order to load the chat widget.

2. Use a 3rd party IRC chat client such as mIRC to login to RevTT IRC Channel (It’s easy to idle this way since you can keep the application minimized to tray just like IM software).

1. If you don’t have mIRC installed, download and install it. A quick search for ‘mIRC’ on RevTT will give you everything you need. After mIRC installation in complete, shut down and restart your web browser.
2. Set the mIRC nickname to your RevolutionTT username (Tools—>Options—>Connect-->NickName)
3. Login to RevolutionTT and visit https://www.revolutiontt.net/irc.php. You will see a command in the page. This is usually similar to:
   /RevoTT !invite NICK abcdefggherhjklghfdjkhfds
   (This command is unique to each username). Copy this command to clipboard.
4. Now click this link –> irc://irc.revolutiontt.net. Choose to open the link with mIRC when your web browser prompts.
5. If mIRC presents you with a ‘Link Request’ window, choose ‘Change to the new server’ option and press ok.
6. Once connected, type the command you copied on step 2 into the console and press enter. You will be invited to the #RevolutionTT channel.

Currently there are 1500+ users online. This number will rise as the news spreads – don’t be left out.

Run As Date is a rather uncommon but pretty useful piece of software.  It allows you to run specific programs with date and time settings of your choice. RunAsDate is basically a launcher which injects (no actual program modifications) user specified date and time settings to applications launched through it. Your system time will remain unchanged but the launched apps will believe the current date and time to be the one specified by Run As Date.

This application can help you with those ‘trial or beta period expired’ error messages – majority of such time limited installers will let you install expired trials or betas if you run them with appropriate date/time settings. This is just one use of RunAsDate and I’m sure you’ll find many other scenarios where this application will be useful.

Note: If you have AVG Anti Virus or Internet Security, you may get a Trojan horse alert when trying to use this application. This is a false positive and is not actually a virus.

RunAsDate is a small utility that allows you to run a program in the date and time that you specify. This utility doesn't change the current system date and time of your computer, but it only injects the date/time that you specify into the desired application.

We’ve mentioned about this tracker before but it’s well worth another post. Wild-Bytes is a private torrent tracker which tracks general content (Software, Movies, Games, Music, E-Books, Kids content, etc) and ) and 0-Day appz releases. Currently, there are around 8700 members on this tracker and the site has over 3200 indexed torrents. Wild-Bytes indexes all major scene and p2p releases and most of these torrents are well seeded.

In addition, they do track several unique packs (game packs, Movies packs, DVD covers packs, etc) unique to the site as well:

Some of the torrents (including packs) on WB are on free leech (download not counted and only the upload is added to the user’s stats). Freeleech torrents have an animated gold coin next to their title. Wild Bytes also has a requests feature where existing members can request releases that have not been uploaded to the site.

As mentioned in the title of this post this tracker is currently open for signup. Wild-Bytes frequently deletes inactive members so don’t bother joining this tracker if you do not plan to be an active member there. The site has a user limit of 9000 which means there are around 200 spots available for the taking. Check it out - WB is a decent general tracker.

Since this question was asked many times in our invitation giveaway threads, we decided to post and article about it. One of the most common problems you may encounter with Demonoid registration process is the error message “ We are full. Sorry, since the server is too saturated, we can not accept more members at the moment. However, new spots are opened every day, so please, check back later”. This article discusses a few things you can do to get around this message if you ever encounter it while trying to register for a new Demonoid account.

As far as I know, this message can pop up when you are trying to register for a Demonoid account with an invitation code as well as when you are trying to register during an open signup period. Initially I thought Demonoid had a fixed user limit as in most other private torrent trackers. However this cannot be as the error message is not displayed universally to all users (i.e- Users in some parts of the world are able to sign up while some users continue get the error message). Perhaps Demonoid limits the number of registrations/registration attempts from a certain IP range. Either way, there are several things you can to do get around this problem:

1. If you have a dynamic IP, change your IP address and try signing up with the new IP. Usually disconnecting and reconnecting your internet connection will change your IP address.

2. Use a proxy site or an anonymization service to access Demonoid. Simply type http://www.demonoid.com in the text field where you have to enter the target web site and begin browsing. If it does not work with one site, try using another. I tested this method using www.anonymouse.org and it worked just fine. Demonoid’s FAQ does not say anything against the use of proxy sites so I guess it’s within the rules to sign up via a proxy. Yesterday, some of our readers experienced a “Reported Attack Site” error when trying to visit FILEnetworks Blog. We are happy to inform that this error is now fixed.

So was there any malware hosted on FILEnetworks Blog at any point? Hell no. The warning signal was triggered by some interstitial ads (full page ads) that were placed by one of our advertisers. This ad service has now been completely removed from the blog. Immediately after the warning was issued several hours ago, our search engine traffic collapsed to nothingness. However most of our regular visitors kept visiting the site despite the warnings – there was no reduction in returning visitor count. We are honored by the trust you placed in us and are extremely sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused. The site should now appear normal on all browsers and even the search engine has returned back to normal. Cheers.

A new version of RivaTuner has been released. RivaTuner is a small utility which you can use to tweak a number of settings related to your NVIDIA video card. These settings are usually not changeable via default driver control panel. This includes monitoring GPU core temperature, controlling fan speed, Overclocking and a number of other low level and driver level settings.

RivaTuner 2.22 adds ForceWare 181.XX (including 181.00) driver support. It also includes support for ForceWare 180.87 and 180.88 versions. This should eliminate the forceware version not supported error messages at startup. I use RivaTuner mainly to monitor my VGA temperature. Another useful feature is that you can change the GPU fan speed at the driver level. If you are having graphcis card overheating problems, first try increasing fan speed to 100% using Rivatuner (NVIDIA’s GPU fans usually run at 60% of max speed by default).

There is quite a bit of talk on Romanian BitTorrent users these days with Waffles.fm banning Romanian IP ranges and ScT planning to enforce a similar ban. I’ve seen some heated arguments going on in various BitTorrent forums and sites about this issue but this article is not aimed at discussing ethics behind country bans. Romania is a country which has hundreds of private BitTorrent trackers of their own. Here is a list of some Romanian private trackers that are currently open for public signups.

We’ve included both general trackers and niche trackers (music trackers, E-learning trackers, appz trackers, etc) in this list. If you are not from Romania and are wondering if these trackers will be of any use to you, yes they will be very useful. Why?
