Portable FireFox is my favorite portable application. With this app you can take all your Firefox bookmarks, settings, saved passwords and form information wherever you go. It’s a great app to have if you use several different machines to browse the web (home, work, school etc). Another advantage is that Portable Firefox can be used on systems where you do not have the necessary privileges (i.e. – Guest account) to install the regular version. Portable version of Firefox does not require installation or re configuration.

Add your bookmarks and other settings to portable Firefox (it’s a one time thing), put it in your USB flash drive or any portable storage medium and you are good to go. About one and a half months ago we reported about the new and promising BitTorrent tracker Scenemovies.org. Scenemovies was a gazelle based private tracker which specialized in English movies. A few hours ago, scenemovies changed their name to PassThePopcorn and moved on to the new domain http://www.passthepopcorn.org (old URL www.scenemovies.org is still accessible). We’ve posted about this application before but a newer version is now out there (v4.9.7). If you are thinking of downloading YouTube videos to your hard drive, this is as easy as it gets. BitT.TV is a private torrent tracker that tracks a lot of TV Shows and TV Documentaries. It however is not a dedicated TV tracker such as Tv.Torrents.Ro or TvTorrenz.org (both currently open for signup btw). BitT.TV tracks general content such as Games and Movies but the majority of the site’s torrents comprise of TV series and documentaries. They currently have over 5800 members and tracks a whopping 23000+ torrents.

One of the good things I noticed about BitT.TV is their excellent collection of TV series season packs. Apart from individual show episodes, they have around 80 season packs organized into a separate category on the site.

This site may not have the best layout around but it’s still navigable. As mentioned above the site is currently open for signup and interested readers may join for free.

Yesterday we reported about a DVD Image of Need for Speed : Undercover being leaked to BitTorrent. It’s taken only 1 day since the leak for pirates to figure out a way around the SecuROM DRM embedded into the game. 2 different groups (NoGrp and WARG – there is also a DarkC0der crack floating around but that seems to be the same as the previous two) have currently released cracks for undercover which circumvent the DRM protection in NFS : Undercover.

Update: Scene group 0x0008 (who is best known for their cracked German game releases) have released an English DRM cracked version of NFS: Undercover moments ago.

Update 2: Group RELOADED have cracked this game. According to them 0x0008 was stolen from p2p.

Both these releases seem identical with both featuring cracked paul.dll files. It remains to be seen if the DRM is completely removed from the game or if these cracks merely bypass the protection (workaround). There has however been problems reported with the game. Mouse not being shown up in game menu, lagging or sluggish menu, inability to change in game settings, inability to change controller are some of the reported problems. I do not know for sure if these are crack related or problems with the game itself. According to comments in several gaming forums, some have got the game to work perfectly as well.

Speaking of the game, there are currently no reviews of the PC version available on Gamerankings. PS3 and XBOX360 versions of the game have received somewhat poor reviews with aggregated scores of 50% and 63% respectively. These are however based on 2-3 reviews so far. Anyway I noticed something interesting with the game’s minimum system requirements; Shader model 2.0 video cards are supported. This will enable users with low end machines play the game but no doubt at lowest possible settings.

A DVD image of Need for Speed : Undercover, one of the most anticipated racing games of the year, has leaked to several private and public BitTorrent networks right just after the game’s North American release. The DVD Image (aka a CloneDVD) which has 4.18GB of file size, is apparently an untouched copy of the original game DVD and includes both English and Spanish language versions of the game. The group who leaked the image call themselves THEPIRATEGAY.

Need for Speed : Undercover, like many other EA games of 2008, uses the controversial online activated SecuROM DRM as an anti piracy measure. DRM remains uncracked in the leaked clone DVD image (in other words there is no crack included) and pirates will be prevented from playing the game at least for now. All EA titles released in 2008 which included SecuROM protection were cracked sooner or later with prime examples being SPORE, Dead Space and Red Alert 3. SecuROM protection in these games was beaten by scene groups such as RELOADED as well as by individuals such as DarkC0der (whose specialty is cracked paul.dll files - a core security module of SecuROM DRM).

Anyway the fact remains that there is no way pirates can play Need for Speed Undercover at the moment with the leaked image alone. They will have to wait and see if a modified executable (aka a crack) is released which will enable them actually play the game. Given the controversial nature of SecuROM, even users who purchased the game legally might be waiting for a SecuROM free exe to be released.

Silverseed is a private torrent tracker specializing in music videos. It’s a fairly new tracker only about a month and a half old but it looks promising. There are not many trackers specializing in music videos around and we’ve only posted about two of them before; Sneakyvidz and Keitex forum. You can find a lot of US/UK music videos belonging to a number of different music genres such as Rock, Metal, Jazz on Silverseed.

As said before Silverseed is quite young and it’s been closed for signups for the most part. They’ve recently opened signups for 72 hours and there are currently around 350 members on the tracker. However Silverseed is not short of torrents. They’ve added around 1600 torrents (music videos) in the month and a half they’ve been online and new torrents keep getting added daily. Some torrents have only one seeder atm but this will hopefully get resolved as more users join this tracker.

As mentioned above Silverseed have opened signups for 72 hours. However we are late in reporting the open signup (sorry about that btw) so it may only remain open for another day or so get in while you can.

Earlier today we reported about the release/leak of Sacred 2 : Fallen Angel. Apparently the initial version of the game is plagued with bugs, glitches and performance issues. Problems with Sacred 2 range from slow frame rates, random crashes to desktop (CTD) to game play issues such as players not being able to level up properly. Luckily for those who purchased the game, developer Ascaron have been busy releasing patches for the game. So far there have been several patches and hotfixes released for the game (I.E.- 2.10, 2.12, etc with 2.0.2 being the version of game’s initial release).

Here is a list of issues all these patches address and at the end of article you can find direct download links to these patches. Only the major issues addressed will be listed here (otherwise it would be one long ass list).

• Some players suffered lags while clicking on NPC’s and objects since hotfix 2. This has been fixed.
• Mounts sometimes lost XP after exit/load. This has been fixed.
• An occasional problem with sounds on the 5.1-subwoofer-channel has been fixed.
• Some cases, in which quests that require a certain amount of collected items didn’t grant enough items have been improved.
• The function of [f12] has been improved. [f12] now teleports the character to the resurrection point. This works for both singleplayer and multiplayer.
