PureLiveGigs’s BitTorrent tracker is tightly integrated to the forum, thus creating a great community of interested members. There is separate section in the forums (in addition to the torrent downloads section) dedicated to reviews and discussions of concerts and music albums. We do not have statistics on the number of torrents tracked by PLG or the number of registered users. But from what I have seen it looks like an active community.
If I'm not mistaken, this is the first time we are posting a music tracker that specializes in live shows so go check it out. Registrations are currently open.

Here is an interesting piece of software for laptop users. VeriFace is a face recognition software that is marketed by Lenovo. It identifies users based on unique facial features which essentially means that you can use your own face as the logon password in your laptop. Although only Lenovo laptops are officially supported by this software, I’ve seen comments by Toshiba, Sony VAIO, Acer and Dell laptop owners who successfully got VerfiFace running on their systems (see this thread for more comments). As far as I know this software quires a 1.3 megapixel camera installed on your laptop to function properly. Click here for a video demonstration.
Developer Description
The new VeriFace technology from Lenovo works in a particular way. When you sit in front of the camera, the system will generate two white dots that will follow your eyes, this will be show at your screen, then it will make the validation and let you log in the system. Different profiles can added and each user will recognized and the logged into their profile. This will make things easier and safer, you will be able to protect your data, files and passwords from others. Tests have been made to check how safe the software is and if it could be easily hacked. Some of the tests included trying to access the system by using high resolution pictures, but the software detects when a picture is being used and doesn't lets the access.
Also the software is smart enough to recognize between a human face and an animal face, animals can't be enrolled to the system.
Many believe that this is a big evolution in biometric security that will help users to make things easier and to worry less about their data protection. The program also has "Automatic Locking" feature under "Real Time Monitor". By setting "Standby Time" VeriFace will auto inspect if you are away from the computer. If your status shows "Away", Windows will automatically be locked.
Under default setting, "Real Time Monitor" is turned off.

It’s a General/0Day tracker which tracks Movies, Software, Games, E-Books and other 0Day releases. LeechersLair is a decent private tracker both in terms of user base as well as the content it tracks. Currently there are around 29800 members and 6200+ torrents on this tracker.
Leechers Lair indexes both scene and non scene releases along with a good number of unique packs such as Movie BOXSETS. Some of these packs are on free leech.

TvTorrentz.org (not to be confused with Tvtorrents.com) is currently open for signup. It’s a decent TV tracker with ~4000 members and 2300+ torrents. Currently there are around 150 spots available in this week’s open signup. Should be a useful tracker for new users as well as those who are missing their daily dose of TV Shows due to tv.torrents.ro being offline.

Read the rest of this article...We reported of the release of EA’s latest RTS game Command and Conquer Red Alert 3 few days ago. Some versions of Red Alert 3 such as the Premier Edition shipped with bonus content not available in the regular version. From what I have heard, these included wallpapers, multiplayer/skirmish maps, additional video, etc.
Owners of the regular version of Red Alert 3 (RA3) can now enjoy the bonus maps included in the special editions of RA3. How? Well the download links got leaked. They are now all over the internet and the funny thing is that I first saw them on EA’s official support forums. Guess they were not that exclusive after all :P
There is a total of 10 official bonus maps in all 6 special editions of Red Alert 3. Remember that these are not some fan made maps – these are official maps you can use to play LAN/Online or Skirmish games and are downloaded directly from EA’s servers.

About a month ago we reported about the launch of referrals feature at Blackcats-Games (BCG), one of the most popular dedicated games torrent trackers on the net. Referrals feature was BCG’s alternative to an invite system where existing members can refer new users to the site (For more information on the referrals feature including how to use it, please see this article). Initially, referrals were only given to those ranked at or above ‘Super Power User (SPU)’.
The good news is that BCG added two referrals each for ALL users with the Badge of Honor (regardless of the user’s rank) several hours ago. Here is the announcement posted on the site:

The badge of honor is awarded to BCG members who have no hit and runs. That is, every torrent downloaded must be seeded back at least to a 0.80 ratio or more (either by actual upload or via seed points credited upload). To see if you have the badge of honor, look for the 
icon in your BCG user details page.

Read the rest of this article...CartoonChaos is a private torrent tracker specializing in Cartoons. It’s the sister site of TorrentKids (dedicated kids content tracker – signups open). On the title it says ‘Cartoon Chaos – The 1st Cartoon Torrent Tracker; I don’t know if they really are the first but there surely are not many dedicated cartoon trackers around. It’s well worth checking out.
At time of this post CartoonChaos tracks 600+ torrents and has a user base close to 1000. Content ranges from kids cartoons, educational toons to even mature cartoons such as The Simpsons. There is also a good collection of packs with some containing entire seasons of shows. Apart from Cartoons, I've managed to find several animated movies on this tracker as well. Only con I found with CaroonChaos was that some of the torrents were left without seeders or only one seeder, a problem that will most likely be rectified as more members join the tracker.

During the time I was idling on TL’s IRC channel, invites were given out to new members by _w00t_. I've seen comments by new members who got into the site using those invites. I don’t know for how long this will last but from what I’ve seen it’s well worth a shot. The chat room is being flooded by users as the news of this invites giveaway spreads so log in ASAP.
