This month (October) seems to be a good one for PC gaming since a lot of anticipated titles such as Dead Space (24-Oct), Far Cry 2 (24-Oct), Bully: Scholarship Edition (24-Oct) and Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3 (31-Oct) are scheduled to be released. Some good news for Playstation 2 console owners. PS2-P tracker which specializes in PS2 games torrents is now open for signup. Speaking of the content on PS2-P, it’s a dedicated PS2 games and other related content tracker. It does not only tracks games but also game manuals, DVD Covers, Disc scans and even some of the PS2 hacks available. PS2-P currently tracks over 450 torrents and has a user base of over 750 members.

This should not have come as a surprise for you if you were a regular member of Blackcats-Games (BCG). If you logged onto Blackcats today, you would see a fake page instead of the familiar login page. Don’t worry, it’s not shut down or anything; this was intentional and is done for security reasons and to launch the upcoming referrals feature. Although tracker staff gave much publicity regarding homepage replacement, unique key generation and how to use the key and the fake page to login to the tracker, many users seem to have skipped reading all these (judging by the amount of mail we receive asking what to do with the fake page).

First of all, if you did not generate a key as instructed by many PMs, announcements and forum posts, say good bye to your account. According to site admin the accounts the did not generate a key will be deleted. If you did generate a key earlier, read on.

Here is how to use the fake login page to get access to Blackcats-games:

1. Visit the login page and enter your keyword in the search box.

2. The moment you type in your key word correctly, two boxes, one each for username and password will appear at the bottom of the page.

3. Type in your Blackcats username and password in these boxes and press enter. That’s all.

To login successfully, all three elements should match; your key, username and the password.

In one of our earlier articles about PC game rips, I mentioned that I was yet to find a private torrent tracker that tracked game rips by individuals and P2P groups such as Skullptura and Dopeman. Although public sites such as Demonoid and The Pirate Bay track these releases, the speeds are often painfully slow.

Well I have finally come across a private tracker which tracks a good collection of PC game rips. Surprisingly, it's not an exclusive games tracker such as BlackCats, BitGamer or Underground-Gamer. The tracker I'm talking about is Zamunda.net - a general tracker from Bulgaria which was featured in our Private Tracker Watch section sometime back.

I have been a member of this tracker for nearly 6 months but never noticed it tracked PC game rips until today. I made the discovery when I was desperately looking for a rip of Turok (original size of this game is a whopping 12GB lol) and to my amazement Zamunda had one which was only 4.3GB. However Zamunda seems to rename the torrent titles and ripper name is not included in the renamed version indexed on the tracker (just Turok instead of 'Turok -Skullptura') Anyway their rips section is content rich and in fact there are 600+ releases in this category. The speeds are excellent and I've managed to max out my download speed on each and every torrent I downloaded in this section.

BitRefinery.eu is currently open for new members. This site was formerly known as Nemezyz.com. BitRefinery is a private torrent tracker specializing in games and appz. They have XBOX, XBOX360, PS3, PS2 and PSP games as well as a decent Windows, Mac and mobile applications collection.

According to BitRefinery stats, they have close to 60000 members. Anyway they don't seem to disable members for inactivity that often. I had an account there which I didn't use for around 2 months and it still wasn't disabled. That being said, there are a plenty of active members both on the tracker and on the forums. BitRefinery currently tracks close to a thousand active torrents. Apart from content and activity the interface is nice and I particularly like the default color scheme. Check it out and you will not be disappointed.

Here is some good news for XBOX/XBOX360 console owners. Private torrent tracker XBOX-SKY is currently open for signups. XBOX-SKY specialize in XBOX/XBOX360 games torrents. I've very little experience with this tracker since I do not own a XBOX (PC FTW!) but it seems to index most of the XBOX/XBOX360 games out there including region free/PAL/NTSC games. Most of the torrents indexed are scene releases.

Apart from Full games, they do have an Apps section which tracks a lot of useful mods, hacks and addons you can use with your XBOX/XBOX360 console. If you own one of these consoles, you should definitely check this site out.

Blackcats-Games.net can be called as the mother of all gaming trackers. There are more than 6000 PC and console games tracked by BCG and getting hold of an account is considered a privilege. The good news is that the tracker is now open for signup so you may get in without an invite.

They have raised the user limit to 55000 and there are around 4500 spots left. According to site administrator, the tracker will be accepting 250 new signups every 15 minutes. So if you can't get in straight away, it is always a good idea to try again after some time.

Private torrent tracker BitShock and it's sister site BitShock Games have opened signups for new members. BitShock is your average general private tracker while BitShock games is a dedicated games tracker.

BitShock has been around for a while and they have further strengthened their user base and content with the recent merger with SceneLinks.ro. BitShock games on the other hand is a fairly new and growing tracker. Both these sites are based in Romania (both track almost 100% English content).

Lots of decent trackers have been opening signups recently. We missed to post SCL (The Clover) yesterday when it was open for a brief period of time. Blackcats-Games.net is the best dedicated games torrent tracker out there. It tracks several thousand windows and console games. Obviously, it is not easy to get into and the tracker had signups closed for a long time and later the admins decided to close the invite based signups too. Now here is the good news; although you may not notice it, the Blackcats-Games is accepting new signups. You just have to be there at the right time. That is easier said than done though.

The tracker opens signups for very brief periods of time (Seconds actually). At other times it will display the following message:

"Max users have been reached for the current time period. Have some cocoa, watch the sun rise (or set), and come back. Nature is beautiful. You might get lucky."

Even if you miraculously get the signup form on first try, you will have less than 9 seconds to fill the form; if you are late, you will be treated with a similar message. Now you may think it is impossible to signup. It is not; at least with a few nice addons for Firefox it isn't.

1. Download Check4Change FireFox extension from here. For more information on this addon visit here. Check4Change (aka C4C) is a simple extension that allows you to periodically check a web-page for updates.

2. Download AutoFormer FireFox extension from here. For more information on this addon visit here. AutoFormer loads saved data in forms.

3. Visit http://www.blackcats-games.net/ and click on the Register link. (Directly accessing signup page would not work.)

4. You will be taken to the page with 'max user limit reached' message. Now select the message text or message heading ("Signup failed!"), right click --->Check4Change-->Custom. Enter 3 seconds in the "Refresh and check every.." field under "Check Interval". Also tick "Dont refresh while viewing page" button.

5. Check4Change will now refresh the page every 3 seconds to detect any changes. Within 15 mins it will detect the signup form being loaded and notify you. Now take your time and fill each and every field (Except the captcha) carefully. Double check everything and make sure you tick everything. Note on Email - Blackcats will not accept popular free email addresses. If you have an ISP provided address, use it. If you don't, gawab.com mail seems to work fine.

6. Before you click submit, Go to FireFox Edit menu-->Autoformer--> click "save all fields". Now press submit. You will be greeted with "Max user limit reached' message again. Do not worry this is normal.

7. Repeat steps 3 and 4 once more and wait till Check4Change to detect a change. This time be on high alert. The moment it detects the signup form being loaded, switch to the tab immediately. Autoformer will automatically load the values previously entered. This saves you valuable seconds. Quickly fill the captcha (no spaces when filling two words) and hit submit. You should get confirmation email within 30 minutes. If you still get "Max user limit reached' , that means you were too late. Repeat steps 3,4 and 7.

Now that was more fun than playing Crysis, wasn't it?
