Our continued coverage of Empire : Total War continues, not only because it’s probably the greatest PC game released so far in 2009 but because a great community of users have already flocked around ETW, releasing cool new tools for the game even it’s only been a few days since the game’s release. Latest community made mode for ETW is the ‘All Factions Unlocker’, a new patch that’ll allow you to play as about a dozen new factions which are unplayable by default.

  and the list goes on….. 

With the unlocker, you get access to more than 30 playable factions. Note that for now you can only play custom battles with using the unlocked factions.

How to use the unlocker

There is no rocket science involved here – the process is pretty simple.

1. Download the patch.pack using the download link below.
2. Navigate to your Empire : Total War folder and locate the existing patch.pack file. Create a backup of this file as a precaution.
3. Now replace the patch.pack file with the file you downloaded in step 1.
4. Start the game, go to custom battle and you will be able to play as any of the newly unlocked factions as well as all default factions.
